This song comes on the sound system and the 65,000 people in the audience sing this song word for word. Gives you goosebumps. Especially when you realize that most people at a Green Day concert in 2017 probably weren't even born when Freddie Mercury died.

Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals John Deacon - Bass guitar Queen has released 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, 16 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, 2 extended plays, 73 singles, and seven promotional singles. "Bohemian Rhapsody", which was released originally in 1975, is the creation of Freddie but he never told anyone what he was thinking when he wrote the lyrics. Freddie tended to write in metaphors and this is one of them. He wanted listeners to be able to apply to the song whatever meaning it had to them personally. Not what it meant to him. BTW - Freddie did admit that "Bohemian Rhapsody" was composed of three separate songs that he had been working on but could not seem to finish. So he decided to mash them together, adding some transitions and bridges, and created "Bohemian Rhapsody". "Bohemian Rhapsody" can be broken down into 6 parts: Part I is the "Into". The video image shows the four members of Queen singing and harmonizing the lyrics of the "Intro" in A cappella. In reality, it is only Freddie's voice you hear on the recording. Freddie laid down 5 separate tracks of himself singing and harmonizing with himself. (FYI - multi-tracking and overdubbing runs rampant in Bohemian Rhapsody.) Next is the "Ballad" portion of the song ('Mama, just killed a man'). Freddie had worked on it for years but the song never had a name. The other members of Queen tentatively titled it "Freddie's Cowboy Song". The lyricist Tim Rice (who wrote the lyrics for "Jesus Christ, Superstar", "Evita", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", ...) was a close friend of Freddie's and he believes this portion of the song’s lyrics were about Mercury confessing to his fans that he was gay. The third section is the guitar solo. This is the only part of Bohemian Rhapsody not written by Freddie. Freddie told Brian that he wanted a guitar solo in the song and where he wanted it to fit into the song but left it to Brian to create. Brian wanted to have his guitar effectively sing a verse that would inject a different melody. He heard something in his head. He said that he could hear this melody and had no idea where it came from. That melody isn’t anywhere else in the song, but it’s on a familiar chord sequence, so it dovetails in quite nicely. The guitar solo leads to the fourth section which is the "Operatic" section. Freddie not only loved Rock but he loved Opera. He was always fascinated with the idea of combining rock and opera. It took an accumulation of 3 weeks at 6 different studios to record "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the "Operatic" section was much smaller when they began recording but Freddie kept adding to it. Various lyrics in the "Operatic" section seem to refer to the band... * Freddie casts himself as Scaramouch, a stock clown of 16th-century Italian literature. *.Galilao refer to Brian with his BSc degree in physics and later his Ph.D.in Astrophysics. * Figaro refers to the Mozart opera, "The Marriage of Figaro" and it is a subtle way to reference Roger who has a four-range vocal span (E2-E6) and was even frequently cited as hitting E5 in live performances. Freddie compared Roger's voice to a dog whistle. * The final reference of Magnifico is John who has not just a BSc but a First Class Honors Degree in Electronics. It is hard to realize that it is only Freddie, Brian, and Roger singing in the "Operatic" section (John never sang on the records). This was 1975, well before digital recordings and they were using 24-track analog tape. This made it necessary for the three to overdub themselves many times and "bounce" these down to successive sub-mixes. Some sections feature 180 separate overdubs! The fifth section is the "Hard Rock" portion. In this section, Freddie sings angry lyrics addressed to an unspecified "you", accusing them of betrayal and abuse and insisting "Can't do this to me, baby", before the final lines conclude with him singing, "Just gotta get right outta here". (FYI - the "Operatic" and the "Hard Rock" sections of BoRap were featured in a scene in the 1992 film Wayne's World, in which the main character and his friends headbang in a car to the rock part.) In the sixth and final section, the "Outré", returns to the "Ballad" to close the circle of the song and ends with the sound of a Chinese gong.
Freddie's voice has been the subject of research by experts because it is so unique. He was capable of doing things with his voice that humans don't typically have the ability to do. 4 octave range. Amazing vibrato. Subharmonics. And he understood how important the color and nuance of every sound that came out of him. He was a musical genius. The bass player, John, played once after Freddie's passing, but Brian and Roger still play as Queen with Adam Lambert, playing decades of Queen music of Freddie, John, Brian and Roger's writing talents. Freddie was arguably the best front man of any band, any decade. His voice speaks for itself. Roger, especially, and Brian also had great voices. John only sang in the early days to my knowledge. Welcome to Queen! All four members have written songs that have been Number one in the charts. You could get a good idea of their talent from Live Aid performance, but it is a very wide choice of songs - all different and not easily defined, except as the Queen genre!!!
They are legendary man. I saw a show with maybe one hundred thousand people in 1981. Freddy Mercury singing is amazing. Recommend you watch theirs performance at an event called live aid, their part was about 15 min with some shortened songs great and you will see how he deal with a whole stadium full of fans. Do it. You will see a recognize some songs. Pure talent. All played all composed , the guitar guy is a PhD in astrophysics. Freddy passed away of aids few months the first drugs were released. But the legacy remains.
Freddie Mercury (the lead singer) had the best voice and was the best showman in rock history, sadly we lost him to AIDS in 1991. The other members of Queen are phenomenal and multi instrumentalists. The guitar player is Brian Mays (he built the red guitar he plays as a kid) and Roger Taylor is the drummer. Both Brian and Roger have great voices (often sing backup, occasionally lead songs) and have had solo singing careers. The bassist is John Deacon, he created the Deacy amp (he's an electric engineer by training.) Queen's career spanned from 70s to 90s (and Freddie's death) and they were famous worldwide and still have many, many fans of different generations. Brian and Roger still tour with guest lead singers. I highly recommend you check out "Someone to Love" (Montreal) and Queen's concert at Live Aid. As great as Queen's studio albums, they really shone when performing live.
Freddie sang all the harmonies in the first a capella segment . The high pitch falsetto in the Galileo segment is the drummer, Roger Taylor's voice. Their live versions are often more interesting than the studio versions, but both are excellent! Talented musicians and genius songwriters - all four had number ones. Freddie had the most versatile voice - he could sing anything and in any style. I think you'd enjoy Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974.
I don't have a musical bone in my body as far as writing, singing, or even playing an instrument....but the way this song ends, the guitar solo going down and Freddie's voice and piano matching....to the point that Brian May's guitar notes perfectly match up with Freddie's voice. Probably an obvious thing, but had never actually noticed something so amazing and sublime and it made sense to me.

While watching the video I couldn't help but think there's no quicker and easier way to make everybody hate you than to stop the song halfway through and start playing. I've been a fan of green day since I was a kid in the mid 90s and there's few things I'd like more than to see them live... but I would boo. I would boo them so hard.

Queen will always be as popular as ever. Every generation discovers them and loves them as much as we do. This is actually a mashup of 3 different songs that Freddie hadn't been able to finish. JohnDeacon (bass) retired after Freddie’s passing. This song here came out in 1975 and has been heralded the best song of all time, Freddie’s voice the best vocalist ever, and Brian May-one of the best guitarists of all time, #8 on some list. You want to hear more, and there is a lot, most advise hearing them live, they’re just as good if not better, Live Aid in 1985 the whole 22 minute set, and Somebody To Love 1981 Wembly are great starts. There was a biopic made about Queen and Freddie (he’s still missed sorely by millions if people) in 2018 named Bohemian Rhapsody, but to be taken as literally factual, but it’s a start into what made them the greatest. Back in the day without computers to create a track where a single person sings all the opening harmonies they would tape over the same piece of film on a separate slice of the film. Freddie himself sang all the intro harmonies.

He and his father made his guitar called the Red Special out of things around the house and 60 years later is still using it. Roger Taylor is the Drummer and has a degree in Biology. Considered one of the best drummers ever. John Deacon is the Bass player and has a degree in electrical engineering and is known for some of the most recognizable bass lines in music. They are the only band ever to have all band members write at least one number 1 hit and all of them have written multiple number 1 hits. This song came out when I was in high school in the 1970's! Right in the middle of the greatest hard rock decade ever! And we teenagers LOVED it! Did you know that John Lennon (one of the Beatles) has a song called Mind Games? It's great. You should do a reaction to it.
Bohemian Rhapsody was Christmas number one in the UK in 1975. The video was 500 quid to make and remember, stereo was just becoming normal, although all radio and TV was mono. Also, everything was still analogue - digital was yet to happen as the computer processor were yet to be.
Queen were there own genre of music. They confused critics by playing music which could be considered from the 30s, 50s, funk, speed metal, ballads, and loads of genres not yet categorized. I saw a review of "See what a fool Ive been" and metal growls used in 1974, which did not come into metal music until the 1990s. They inspired many bands, and with none of todays technology at the time, it shows their skills as a talented band they really were. They are an a cappella band (no instruments or autotune) that will blow your mind. Brian May, the Queen guitarist, posted the Pentatonix version in his social media and said, “enjoy”.

Welcome to Queen! Queen was together from 1970 through 1991 when Freddie Mercury (lead singer/piano) passed away. The drummer (Roger Taylor) and lead guitar player (Brian May) went on to have solo careers then later teamed up with Paul Rogers (Bad Company and Free) to tour for a year or two but had no intention of it being a forever thing. A few years later they met a young man by the name of Adam Lambert on a show called American Idol and were very impressed with is vocal abilities (being able to sing in the range that Freddie sang and all the songs in the keys that Queen had written them was seemingly impossible, but Adam had that kind of range. So Brian and Roger decided to ask Adam if he would like to go on tour with them. As it turned out, the world really wanted to hear more live Queen so 11 years later they are still touring together at Queen + Adam Lambert. There will never be another Freddie Mercury and there will never be another Queen because it is impossible to duplicate what these guys did as just four of them but Queen + Adam Lambert is a huge production of what a Queen show once was and their tours sell out within a day of going on sale. Brian will be 77 in July and Roger 75 also in July so I am sure there will not be many more tours in the future. They did a North America tour last year and a Japan tour this year. John Deacon (bass) retired from music a few years after Freddie passed away. The singer is the late great iconic Freddie Mercury. The best vocalist in the rock era. They began in the late 60s as smile. The lead singer left The guitarist, Brian May and the Drummer, Roger Taylor, allowed a long time fan take over for vocals by the name of Freddie Mercury. The name was changed to Queen and they recruited John Deacon. They began as a progressive rock band and did not get very far. They ended up signing with EMI but, no hits. Then they recorded their album with Bohemian rhapsody. Freddie wanted to put it out as a single. The company said no way. Too long and weird. Freddie took it to a DJ friend of his who played it over a 24 hour period and it scored. Big hit. The company relented and it became the biggest single of their career. It is now an iconic song. One of the great songs. They also Another one bites the dust, we are the champions, etc. They had some great songs like Killer Queen, Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy little thing called love. Radio Ga Ga. They did live aid in 85 and gave what is seen as the greatest live performance of all time. Freddie had millions eating out of his hand that that performance. The audience performed like trained seals for Freddie. Freddie died of Aids in 1991 at 45 and the world is still mourning his loss. In 2015 the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody was leased and was an academy Award winning movie. Huge. It was based on Freddie's life. The two remaining band members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, consulted. The bass player retired shortly after Freddie's death unable to continue with his passing. It was too painful and he has remained a recluse to this day., The influence of this band is such that my 14 year old granddaughter heard Boheminan Rhapsody on her mom's radio a year ago and was crazy for it. Addison listened to the song over and over that day and got to the point she could sing with the song. I have a video of her doing her nails and singing to the song. It is a favorite of hers. This is a girl of the auto tune generation and she loves Queen and Freddie. And with my influence also loves Led Zeppelin - hehehe
Freddie was a Smile fan but was also in a couple of bands himself. BoRhap definitely put them on the global map but Seven Seas of Rhye, Killer Queen & Now I'm Here each charted well in the UK. The movie? It's a no for me. It's riddled with timeline anomalies; fictional events and inaccurate character portrayals.
Try also Stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin. It is another absolute classic from the 70s. Try LA Woman from The Doors also from about 69 or 70. Another classic.

John retired after Freddie's passing.
Freddie died quite a fewcyears ago. The band Queen is still performing but Adam Lambert does the singing. Ive never listened to the new version of Queen.

In 1963, Freddie Mercury was being trained to be a classical pianist and an opera singer when he said he heard The Beatles song "She Loves You" for the first time and as he quoted. "I knew at that moment that one day I would be in a rock & roll band. Thank God for The Beatles, without them most of the biggest bands in history would have never happened They were that important for music history and is why they're still regarded as the greatest and most influential band in history and that's a fact. There's a video on youtube of a Green Day audience waiting for a concert to start in England in 2017. This song comes on the sound system and the 65,000 people in the audience sing this song word for word. Gives you goosebumps. Especially when you realize that most people at a Green Day concert in 2017 probably weren't even born when Freddie Mercury died.

Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals
Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals
John Deacon - Bass guitar
Queen has released 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, 16 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, 2 extended plays, 73 singles, and seven promotional singles.
"Bohemian Rhapsody", which was released originally in 1975, is the creation of Freddie but he never told anyone what he was thinking when he wrote the lyrics. Freddie tended to write in metaphors and this is one of them. He wanted listeners to be able to apply to the song whatever meaning it had to them personally. Not what it meant to him.
BTW - Freddie did admit that "Bohemian Rhapsody" was composed of three separate songs that he had been working on but could not seem to finish. So he decided to mash them together, adding some transitions and bridges, and created "Bohemian Rhapsody".
"Bohemian Rhapsody" can be broken down into 6 parts:
Part I is the "Into". The video image shows the four members of Queen singing and harmonizing the lyrics of the "Intro" in A cappella. In reality, it is only Freddie's voice you hear on the recording. Freddie laid down 5 separate tracks of himself singing and harmonizing with himself. (FYI - multi-tracking and overdubbing runs rampant in Bohemian Rhapsody.)
Next is the "Ballad" portion of the song ('Mama, just killed a man'). Freddie had worked on it for years but the song never had a name. The other members of Queen tentatively titled it "Freddie's Cowboy Song". The lyricist Tim Rice (who wrote the lyrics for "Jesus Christ, Superstar", "Evita", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", ...) was a close friend of Freddie's and he believes this portion of the song’s lyrics were about Mercury confessing to his fans that he was gay.
The third section is the guitar solo. This is the only part of Bohemian Rhapsody not written by Freddie. Freddie told Brian that he wanted a guitar solo in the song and where he wanted it to fit into the song but left it to Brian to create. Brian wanted to have his guitar effectively sing a verse that would inject a different melody. He heard something in his head. He said that he could hear this melody and had no idea where it came from. That melody isn’t anywhere else in the song, but it’s on a familiar chord sequence, so it dovetails in quite nicely.
The guitar solo leads to the fourth section which is the "Operatic" section. Freddie not only loved Rock but he loved Opera. He was always fascinated with the idea of combining rock and opera. It took an accumulation of 3 weeks at 6 different studios to record "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the "Operatic" section was much smaller when they began recording but Freddie kept adding to it.
Various lyrics in the "Operatic" section seem to refer to the band...
* Freddie casts himself as Scaramouch, a stock clown of 16th-century Italian literature.
*.Galilao refer to Brian with his BSc degree in physics and later his Ph.D.in Astrophysics.
* Figaro refers to the Mozart opera, "The Marriage of Figaro" and it is a subtle way to reference Roger who has a four-range vocal span (E2-E6) and was even frequently cited as hitting E5 in live performances. Freddie compared Roger's voice to a dog whistle.
* The final reference of Magnifico is John who has not just a BSc but a First Class Honors Degree in Electronics.
It is hard to realize that it is only Freddie, Brian, and Roger singing in the "Operatic" section (John never sang on the records). This was 1975, well before digital recordings and they were using 24-track analog tape. This made it necessary for the three to overdub themselves many times and "bounce" these down to successive sub-mixes. Some sections feature 180 separate overdubs!
The fifth section is the "Hard Rock" portion. In this section, Freddie sings angry lyrics addressed to an unspecified "you", accusing them of betrayal and abuse and insisting "Can't do this to me, baby", before the final lines conclude with him singing, "Just gotta get right outta here".
(FYI - the "Operatic" and the "Hard Rock" sections of BoRap were featured in a scene in the 1992 film Wayne's World, in which the main character and his friends headbang in a car to the rock part.)
In the sixth and final section, the "Outré", returns to the "Ballad" to close the circle of the song and ends with the sound of a Chinese gong.
Freddie's voice has been the subject of research by experts because it is so unique. He was capable of doing things with his voice that humans don't typically have the ability to do. 4 octave range. Amazing vibrato. Subharmonics. And he understood how important the color and nuance of every sound that came out of him. He was a musical genius.
When you get into some of the background of this anazing band, you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation of this band and each if the members.

A voice like Freddie's is just raw talent. You have to be born with it. You can learn to control it and improve it but that kind of talent can't simply be taught. Freddie WAS music. It flowed out of him as easy as breathing.

The band started in the early 1970s and the four lads were masters of their crafts. Freddie Mercury died of AIDS in the early 1990s. The bass player, John, played once after Freddie's passing, but Brian and Roger still play as Queen with Adam Lambert, playing decades of Queen music of Freddie, John, Brian and Roger's writing talents. Freddie was arguably the best front man of any band, any decade. His voice speaks for itself. Roger, especially, and Brian also had great voices. John only sang in the early days to my knowledge. I recommend Queen live, 1981, Montreal, Somebody to Love, if you want to experience a jewel of their live performances.

Welcome to Queen! All four members have written songs that have been Number one in the charts. You could get a good idea of their talent from Live Aid performance, but it is a very wide choice of songs - all different and not easily defined, except as the Queen genre!!!

They are legendary man. I saw a show with maybe one hundred thousand people in 1981. Freddy Mercury singing is amazing. Recommend you watch theirs performance at an event called live aid, their part was about 15 min with some shortened songs great and you will see how he deal with a whole stadium full of fans. Do it. You will see a recognize some songs. Pure talent. All played all composed , the guitar guy is a PhD in astrophysics. Freddy passed away of aids few months the first drugs were released. But the legacy remains.
Freddie Mercury (the lead singer) had the best voice and was the best showman in rock history, sadly we lost him to AIDS in 1991. The other members of Queen are phenomenal and multi instrumentalists. The guitar player is Brian Mays (he built the red guitar he plays as a kid) and Roger Taylor is the drummer. Both Brian and Roger have great voices (often sing backup, occasionally lead songs) and have had solo singing careers. The bassist is John Deacon, he created the Deacy amp (he's an electric engineer by training.) Queen's career spanned from 70s to 90s (and Freddie's death) and they were famous worldwide and still have many, many fans of different generations. Brian and Roger still tour with guest lead singers. I highly recommend you check out "Someone to Love" (Montreal) and Queen's concert at Live Aid. As great as Queen's studio albums, they really shone when performing live.
Not only is Brian May still playing, he is also a published astrophysicist and co-author of an astronomy book. Music pays a lot better, though.

Freddie sang all the harmonies in the first a capella segment . The high pitch falsetto in the Galileo segment is the drummer, Roger Taylor's voice. Their live versions are often more interesting than the studio versions, but both are excellent! Talented musicians and genius songwriters - all four had number ones. Freddie had the most versatile voice - he could sing anything and in any style. I think you'd enjoy Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974.
I don't have a musical bone in my body as far as writing, singing, or even playing an instrument....but the way this song ends, the guitar solo going down and Freddie's voice and piano matching....to the point that Brian May's guitar notes perfectly match up with Freddie's voice. Probably an obvious thing, but had never actually noticed something so amazing and sublime and it made sense to me.

While watching the video I couldn't help but think there's no quicker and easier way to make everybody hate you than to stop the song halfway through and start playing. I've been a fan of green day since I was a kid in the mid 90s and there's few things I'd like more than to see them live... but I would boo. I would boo them so hard.

Queen will always be as popular as ever. Every generation discovers them and loves them as much as we do. This is actually a mashup of 3 different songs that Freddie hadn't been able to finish. Taking 3 unrelated songs and making one that actually makes sense requires an absolutely brilliant mind. Jump on into the rabbit hole. It's deep but you'll be glad you did.

This song here came out in 1975 and has been heralded the best song of all time, Freddie’s voice the best vocalist ever, and Brian May-one of the best guitarists of all time, #8 on some list. You want to hear more, and there is a lot, most advise hearing them live, they’re just as good if not better, Live Aid in 1985 the whole 22 minute set, and Somebody To Love 1981 Wembly are great starts. There was a biopic made about Queen and Freddie (he’s still missed sorely by millions if people) in 2018 named Bohemian Rhapsody, but to be taken as literally factual, but it’s a start into what made them the greatest. I've been a fan since 1974 back then Queen fans were called the Royal Family. I don't know when Queenie became a fan name, but I love The Royal Family name much better 😉
Back in the day without computers to create a track where a single person sings all the opening harmonies they would tape over the same piece of film on a separate slice of the film. Freddie himself sang all the intro harmonies.
Queen was a ground breaking band. The music is timeless. Each band member was a master at the trade. They all could sing they all wrote music. They were on a different level. Welcome and enjoy your trip down the Queen rabbit hole. Freddie Mercury is the greatest frontman of all time. Sir Dr Brian May is the guitarist and is an Astrophysicist. He and his father made his guitar called the Red Special out of things around the house and 60 years later is still using it. Roger Taylor is the Drummer and has a degree in Biology. Considered one of the best drummers ever. John Deacon is the Bass player and has a degree in electrical engineering and is known for some of the most recognizable bass lines in music. They are the only band ever to have all band members write at least one number 1 hit and all of them have written multiple number 1 hits. You need to watch their Live Aid performance which is considered the best live performance ever. Also watch Somebody to Love, 1981 Montreal.

Bohemian Rhapsody was Christmas number one in the UK in 1975. The video was 500 quid to make and remember, stereo was just becoming normal, although all radio and TV was mono. Also, everything was still analogue - digital was yet to happen as the computer processor were yet to be.

Queen were there own genre of music. They confused critics by playing music which could be considered from the 30s, 50s, funk, speed metal, ballads, and loads of genres not yet categorized. I saw a review of "See what a fool Ive been" and metal growls used in 1974, which did not come into metal music until the 1990s. They inspired many bands, and with none of todays technology at the time, it shows their skills as a talented band they really were. This brilliant song is a classic. Queen has many hits deserving of reactions. Since you are exploring different genres, you should listen to Pentatonix’s version of Bohemian Rhapsody. They are an a cappella band (no instruments or autotune) that will blow your mind. Brian May, the Queen guitarist, posted the Pentatonix version in his social media and said, “enjoy”.
One of the best bands ever!! They could all sing beautifully, write great songs, plays their instruments excellently, and produce and arrange music. They put on a heck of a live show. They sounded just as good live.

Welcome to Queen! Queen was together from 1970 through 1991 when Freddie Mercury (lead singer/piano) passed away. The drummer (Roger Taylor) and lead guitar player (Brian May) went on to have solo careers then later teamed up with Paul Rogers (Bad Company and Free) to tour for a year or two but had no intention of it being a forever thing. A few years later they met a young man by the name of Adam Lambert on a show called American Idol and were very impressed with is vocal abilities (being able to sing in the range that Freddie sang and all the songs in the keys that Queen had written them was seemingly impossible, but Adam had that kind of range. So Brian and Roger decided to ask Adam if he would like to go on tour with them. As it turned out, the world really wanted to hear more live Queen so 11 years later they are still touring together at Queen + Adam Lambert. There will never be another Freddie Mercury and there will never be another Queen because it is impossible to duplicate what these guys did as just four of them but Queen + Adam Lambert is a huge production of what a Queen show once was and their tours sell out within a day of going on sale. Brian will be 77 in July and Roger 75 also in July so I am sure there will not be many more tours in the future. They did a North America tour last year and a Japan tour this year. John Deacon (bass) retired from music a few years after Freddie passed away. They began in the late 60s as smile. The lead singer left The guitarist, Brian May and the Drummer, Roger Taylor, allowed a long time fan take over for vocals by the name of Freddie Mercury. The name was changed to Queen and they recruited John Deacon.
They began as a progressive rock band and did not get very far. They ended up signing with EMI but, no hits. Then they recorded their album with Bohemian rhapsody. Freddie wanted to put it out as a single. The company said no way. Too long and weird. Freddie took it to a DJ friend of his who played it over a 24 hour period and it scored. Big hit. The company relented and it became the biggest single of their career. It is now an iconic song. One of the great songs.

They did live aid in 85 and gave what is seen as the greatest live performance of all time. Freddie had millions eating out of his hand that that performance. The audience performed like trained seals for Freddie.
Freddie died of Aids in 1991 at 45 and the world is still mourning his loss.
In 2015 the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody was leased and was an academy Award winning movie. Huge. It was based on Freddie's life. The two remaining band members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, consulted. The bass player retired shortly after Freddie's death unable to continue with his passing. It was too painful and he has remained a recluse to this day.,
The influence of this band is such that my 14 year old granddaughter heard Boheminan Rhapsody on her mom's radio a year ago and was crazy for it. Addison listened to the song over and over that day and got to the point she could sing with the song. I have a video of her doing her nails and singing to the song. It is a favorite of hers. This is a girl of the auto tune generation and she loves Queen and Freddie. And with my influence also loves Led Zeppelin - hehehe

Greatest band ever. I was a teenager when they came out on the scene. Freddy Mercury's voice was amazing. Rip freddie. Brian may guitar and vocals, Roger Taylor drums and vocals ( those really high notes in this song is him) John deacon bass and vocals. Roger and Brian still tour but with a new singer. John retired after Freddie's passing.

They are the best live band in history. They started arounc 1969/1970, ive been a fan since 1973. Watch Live Aid 1975. Queen are still performing today with Adam Lambert. Watch isle of wight festival 2016 with Adam Lambert singing Who Wants to Live for Ever. Wonderful. Written for the sound track of the film Highlander. Adam is wonderful too.

In 1963, Freddie Mercury was being trained to be a classical pianist and an opera singer when he said he heard The Beatles song "She Loves You" for the first time and as he quoted. "I knew at that moment that one day I would be in a rock & roll band.
