Either a 6'10 medium with moderate action or a 7ft medium or 7ft medium heavy with a fast action. The key is having a good reel with a good braking system and GOOD line. It's not their most popular reel but I'll swear by a Johnny Morris Platinum Signature Series reel. I crank with the 6:8:1 and I can switch lures in and out without hardly ever adjusting my tension or braking system and I can't remember ever back lashing with mine and I've used the same one for years now. I use alot of great Shimano and Diawa reels also but there's just something about the Johnny Morris Platinum Signature Series that I love for cranking.
Thanks for the info. Bass are going deep now.
What is a good setup for throwing small baits on a bait caster? Any recommendations appreciated
Bfs aka bait finesse system, or you can also click the description of the video where they’ll link all the gear they used in the video
