Great tips! These are the tips that I learned last year from the flylady system & they really work. The way you described how you felt, the pressure of getting it all clean is exactly how I feel. Through the flylady system it has become more manageable. For me the daily squish & swipe, SHINY SKINK & 15 minutes zone cleaning has been a game changer.
I really liked your video. I found your channel through your living in Germany vids. But your cleaning videos are actually very helpfull. I like the wipe it down after use tip. That works really well. You also motivated me to do some hotspot cleaning in the kitchen right now. So keep up the good work. 👍🏻😉
I implemented the flylady system through you and it really works for me. Before my condo was a total mess, now it is civiled. But you have to stick to it. But I cant imagine that 15 minutes are enough with children and husband. Cleaning my kitchen after cooking alone takes me sometimes 15 minutes.
Yeah that's true, cleaning the kitchen every night does take much longer than 15 minutes! But the 15 minutes are part of the Zone Cleaning method, so they don't really apply to cleaning the kitchen after dinner. Anyway, I'm so glad to hear the system has been working well for you! I noticed your name sounds like a German name - are you from Germany or Europe?
I’m a fan of the fly lady system too. I came to it through Diane in Denmark and also The Secret Slob who have both adapted it to suit their lives and families.
I have a bottle of FROSCH Green Quality Shower and bath cleaner in my shower, it's natural and super strong, also cheap. Once a month when I cut my hair with a machine I simply spray it all over the shower, and after cutting I take a shower and wash it all off and pretty much clean it that way. Same way in the kitchen, when I make something that takes like 10-15 minutes, like noodle or a Vegetable mix that was frozen I simply wash dishes and clean the counter top. The living room pretty much only exists to serve as a passage between kitchen and bedroom which is also my "office" which is the same deal, 10-15 minutes every couple days, and it is presentable, but I wouldn't recommend eating from it. What I gave up on is getting rid of dust, I vacuum and mob at best once a month or every 2 months because it is a waste of time in my flat, dust accumulates within 2 days back to what I just cleaned, it is awful. That's a system that works for me, but also took me a while to get in my thick skull, due to some mental health issues I pretty much became a hoarder, thanks to a warning carpet bomb of my landlord and my mother and sister I managed to crawl out of that hole. These tips of yours do work, they take barely any time, I feel especially those who plan to or just moved into their first flat should know that cleaning doesn't need to take half a day, detergent doesn't need to cost 5€ a bottle, the Natural ones are sometimes cheaper than the chemical bombs and can work as well or better.
Please people, never be embarrassed about your home looks! We live there it is not supposed to look like in a magazine! Invite you friends in any way....otherwise you will miss out of the beauty of life!
I'm so happy to learn that our German word 'tip' is the same in English. Until now I thought that tip is only what you give to a waitress in a restaurant (Trinkgeld) . Fortunately I have someone for my single household ( cleaning, doing the washing, dishwasher etc.) once a week, and besides I am an orderly person. So my home is always good enough to invite guests spontaneously. Recently I have observed myself doing some cleaning or tidying up special corners which are often a bit neglected. So why did I do it? It was just a means to postpone other nasty and unloved jobs like making the tax return. Whenever I try to avoid activities I hate my home looks especially tidy and clean. 😂
🤣🤣 doing the tax is definitely annoying! Hi Beatrix! I recognize your name from your comments on our other videos. Since you are already a tidy person, I’m sure you would have good tips to share with all of us!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife So this WAS actually my first tip to you. 😁 But there is a big difference between a single household like mine and your family household with six members, house and garden. 3 years ago I left my house with garden on the countryside and moved to a larger city where I just live in a lovely flat with balcony. So there isn't much household work to do. 🤷♀️ But I have been delegating housework already decades ago. My idea was: If I give one private language lesson of an hour, I can pay someone else to clean etc. for two hours. I prefer to do what I like better and can do better. 🤣
@@beatrixpastoors1104 love that mindset! Use your talents and gifts wisely. I think living in a city is a lot of fun without children. Easier to get around town, always have people nearby, no yard to take care of. Many benefits!
@@MyMerryMessyGermanLife That's exactly why I moved here after the the family phase. I love the cultural program, especially the theatre here. With children it's much better to have a large garden and a playground and other children in the neighbourhood, and lots of nature around. So the place you moved to has ideal conditions for a longer stay. 👍 In a town you will often stay anonymous and not know your neighbours. That's what I dislike about towns. Fortunately there are online programs to get in touch with your neighbours. I recently subscribed for nebenan.de. There is also an app you can use. Now that I have retired I hope to find the time to build up new relationships here. You already have lots of contacts as it seems, through your children and your RUclips channel. Additionally you could also present yourself at nebenan. You can offer or look for help there, too. Find someone to water the flowers, feed the pets, walk with the dog or repair your gadgets. And you can sell things you don't need anymore. So nebenan.de is my next tip for you. 😊
The 5 minutes per day work fine. Sometimes. But during the Lockdown and when I get sick somehow I always lose track and feel overwhelmed at the end. Killer combination: both parents down with a cold and with two kids stuck at home. Is there a rescue plan for this?
Waiiiiiit ... I got confused. I just saw some videos of you living in Germany. THIS is definitely not a german home :-) It took me a moment to realize that the video is either an older one or from your "life before". The release date put me on the wrong track. Anyway ... very nice tipps.
Yes, sorry for the confusion! I many videos before we left the USA and so for the next two months, you will still see some videos of our American house. ☺️

Yes! Those things are game changers for me, too. Yes her system takes the pressure off, it’s so smart!
