- 30 years after a historic election in 1994, South Africa is at a crossroads yet again with a general election on 29 May 2024.
Extreme poverty, high levels of unemployment and crime has left a nation feeling unsafe and uncertain about their future.
Who must they vote for?
Dr. Llewellyn MacMaster was detained and imprisoned as a student fighting for the liberation of black South Africans during Apartheid. He looks back on the past 30 years to reflect whether the current state of the nation is the dream he and his comrades fought for.
Ek is n kleurling dame en is saam met da❤al die pad da het my vote veraltyd
People forgive they never forget,we need new leadership our time is running
Very interesting talk. I also just want people to bring gospel in our land. Christians keep praying, and not only Christians all .pray for this country. Don't vote for a party, that don't believe in praying. Bring praying again in school. I have so much to say. Praying help.
You can say it here. So, you believe prayer does…..? Don’t you think everyone prays in their own way, and necessarily formalized prayer?
Briljant, ek het dit baie geniet. Daar sal altyd die wees wat teenstrydig is maar ons oe is op die prys, "Vryheid vir ons mense"
Baie bly jy het 41 minute geluister. Baie dankie vir jou tyd. 😀
She’s been working for SABC (ANC) for years!! She benefited from the ANC..easy to point fingers😊
Thanks for the laugh today. I needed that. ☝🏽You made me recall a very famous saying of Forrest Gump…
boesak and beyers naude had a song at one stage , it was called dont mess with my tutu
I think it was meant playfully since we all sang it. Based on a popular song :)
Very insightful.....
Glad you think so!
No one ever adresses the 1967 Arcadia Secondary School Bontehewel riot that was part of the struggle, where students was locked up and their homes where 24/7 under secutity surveillance
Send me names and contact details of at least two people so I can follow-up please. Lynette@amplifymedia.co.za. No docs please.
This is the first time I am scared to vote. Because can't trust anyone. Help me to understand
What do you want to understand? You fears? Your choices? What to weight up?
Lynette Francis Puren, ek is mal oor jou kort hare!! Pas jou soos handskoen!!!
Dankie! 😀 Harde werk met instandhouding 💪🏽
Wait what, Cmon, the ANC, ever heard of something called Apartheid???
You missing the point. We grew up with UDF and MDM and believed in non racialism and ANC raped that ideal. Now it's all about black Africans like Coloured Africans are no where to be seen.
I think the speaker refers to the 70/80’s struggle years when there was no race classification within the liberation movement. Hence the speaker references “non-racialism”
Another excuse, coloureds liked being coloureds when suited. They chose to keep that racial identity
@Cris-wy9dv but you say we are not African black so.whag are we? I don't need you to affirm me. I know who I am. This is my country and I will not be treated like a second class citizen by anyone. My roots are deep in the soil of the Boland, the Cape, South Africa and Africa.
@@PatrickJacobs-u1f lol, this is the same all through Africa coloureds mixed race people distance themselves from black Africans and always thought they were better off than them. A lot of coloureds sat back during the oppression as they were favoured by white rule now you just expect stuff and blame ANC, I am not trying toying to affirm you in any way, if you don’t know who you are without my help then you will never know. ANC did not make you coloured, no one is stating that it is not your country, but instead of ploughing into the divide how about healing that divide and work towards all South Africa not just coloureds or blacks or whites but for all. One other thing you say being treated like a second class citizen, I beg to differ was it not coloureds that treated blacks like that?
I remember him as a right skallywag
I am 58 years old and share similar disillusionment. I will certainly vote National Coloured Congress. High time for the Coloured agenda to put on the table. I am unashamedly pro Coloured.
How did today go? (29 May)😊
@AmplifywithLynette smooth voting. PA turn out was eye catching.
Ag shame. 😅😅😅Hierdie armsalige stories omtrent blaam op ander pak.
As gevolg van mense soos jy wat die land nooit verander nie!!!!!!!! Ur privileged is oozing!!!!
Armsalige stories?
Use English please
Thanks, you will find a mix of English and Afrikaans content going forward. I hope you will engage with the English content too 😄
The ANC never made anyone coloured u love it some of u are fighting for this derogative term u rather be white & coloured than black
