Insightful, brilliant, dispassionate, and balanced! Thank you, Dr. Van Heerden. Just because someone is family does not mean you have to tolerate their drama, manipulation, and chaos. In my experience, sometimes family can be the most toxic people in your life. The ANC should, therefore, boldly seek new partners who are aligned with its renewal agenda, as it has clearly outgrown the MKP and EFF factions. This is an extremely delicate exercise, as it also involves honoring the will of the people who sent them to parliament. If the 'new' ANC commits to delivering services like heroes over the next 5 years, the electorate will reward them and potentially forgive them for aligning themselves with a perceived enemy like the DA. I firmly believe that those who left the party in search of greener pastures and those who stayed at home in protest will come out and vote to restore the ANC's glory. This election is not a red card, but it is a dark yellow card. The ANC must seize this opportunity to redefine itself and regain the trust of the people.
