Its not that I just don't like it, I think its repulsive. Hard for me to believe anyone would like it, but if it worked out for you and the new owner thats great.
Yes truly. It needed to be with stripped bare wood, not an oak color. That would have given it a Scandinavian look, which is what that pastel pink is based off.
Until I read so many comments agreeing with me, I wasn't going to say I don't like this color either. It's too non-color, like the creators couldn't quite decide what color it was going to be. But glad you found a buyer who loves it.
Well, I'm not crazy about the color scheme but you did a great job. Congratulations on selling it at a good profit. I learned a lot. This is a great tutorial!
The paint color reminded me too much of the whole Southwestern look a few years back. The colors didn't go well for me. But, I think you did a fantastic job getting it to where you wanted it. We all have different tastes and I'm so happy for you that you found a buyer!! Thanks for sharing this redo with all of us.
I'm sorry, I missed how this piece became BOHO just by painting some of it a flat brown color. For me the natural wood against that color of brown paint clashed, but I am happy that you were able to sell it to somebody who loved it.
I like how you painted some, and let the natural wood show through in the most interesting places. However I personally would never paint any furniture that particular color, as I find that color hideous, especially with a golden hued wood.
That's why I suggested looking at colors across the color wheel, such as a deep navy...but she is very skilled and knows her market, so kudo's to her:) I had a bunch of projects to paint this fall, but winter came early again, and that was it...probably the only time I'm envious of people who live in warmer States .
I agree, wouldn't go with anything in my home. It almost looks flesh tone, just Yuck. I love some of the new 2023 brown shades that came out, but definitely not this one. I don't care for that style dresser either. WE have 1980s 1990s Thomasville deep golden oak bedroom set. We updated with black white swirl granite tops, put in black metal king size headboard that looks wrought iron and we love it. The matching Queen Thomasville headboard is on the nautical coastal guest bedroom and it's perfect in there, just need to do a shiplap accent wall behind it and room will be done. You did a great job painting this dresser, but the colors clash and nothing in my home would go with this. I love my furnishings and can't wait to get the sunroom build done then we can work on the garage again. It will be a year before that happens or even longer Prices are just to high on lumber and building products. So we are just fixing up what we have, painting rooms that need it, painting our interior doors a dark color. I hate white doors now, lol.goung with a brownish dark charcoal grey. We did the bathroom cabinets this color, mmm gorgeous! We love it 😀
I don't like the new color for 2023 but I do like the natural wood with the other part painted. You did an excellent job and the results are lovely. I'm so happy for your selling price... you deserve it. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank you for sharing. I was really was disappointed in the color. I imagine with the right art and accessories it could work. But I'm sticking with the whites, browns, grey's and blues for this next year. Neutrals make it so much easier to change out my decor for the seasons.
I recently found your channel and have watched quite a few videos. I love your positive message and sweet demeanor. The product you used on the mirror to protect it looked interesting and useful. I applaud you in your success in these furniture flips. This "new" color is probably not going to be my favorite ever but WOW you sold it to someone who will appreciate your work. So, in that regard, it was a win/win.
Love seeing your work. Please stary wearing closed to shoes and eye protection. The paint haze and fumes can affect eyes as well as your lungs. Closed toe shoes to protect yourself from heavy tools or a dropped piece of furniture. Stay safe😁
The positives: The description of each step Clear video of each step Cool new product to try!! You did a nice job Negatives: I do not care for that color or the combination of it with the wood. I think a pretty beige that worked better with the wood might have looked nicer, or even a soft teal or green.
Well, I am usually a little behind trends but although you did a gorgeous job, I would say that this color is a total miss. It looks like beige gone wrong ~ like when you're trying for beige and it turns out too pink. THANKS for sharing this with us - - I LOVE that dresser!!
Did not expect to see a product I used to sell in a furniture store in Melbourne. Australia 20 years ago! Howard's products are awesome. My brother still runs that store and still sells Howard's Products!
The color isn’t for me. Too trendy, reminds me of the peach vibe from back in the day. The house I moved into, had that going on every where, and I developed a distaste for it. Too each their own. I’m glad someone loved it.
A very nice transition, and thank you for trying new colors! This one is not a fav of most, but kudos for doing it and saving those that follow from using it.
Hi, Kara, Really like your video...keeping it "real and simple"! Thanks for not having that loud, crazy music where it drowns out what you're saying and volume goes up and down constantly.🙂 Your dresser is beautiful! Thank you.
I think you did a great job but I would have done like a whitewash on the wood doors or sanded and stained it like a white oak color... The Orange color wood doesn't suit that paint color well but the paint color is very nice.
I really LIKE this color and am using it on a dresser right now! Its actually a bit darker than the way it looks on your video. Thank you for sharing your expertise!😊
I agree with many other comments about the color, not a fan. Im also wondering about no priming. I also think a whitewash on the wood would have given it a lot more character. It's an unusual piece though. Is the amount you sold it for the average price of a piece like that? Certainly a decent profit!
Love what you do! At first I was thinking no. But now I look at it finished and it looks good. Problem is people just buy usual safe colors, grey, black, white.
The piece was so unique. I have had furniture from 1980 in the ‘baby poop’ oak - but never have seen the textured designs on it like that. I liked the new color - so sick of gray, grey & greige…THANKS😎
I am finding in California, it's still white. I hate to paint everything white, however, if I don't my pieces sit for months on end without selling. Then I repaint white and with in weeks it sells.
Isn't that funny! Dallas likes color. White will still sell but takes me longer. I do these muted neutrals and they fly out the door! Thanks for watching! I'm happy to have you!
I am not a furniture flipper but I did refinish some pieces in my home , and as a consumer I would be very reluctant to buy any colourful furniture myself. Maybe one small accent piece and that all. Any shades of white are more welcome but I would say that most of us prefer wood tones over painted furniture because it’s timeless. Trendy furniture gets dated really fast.
You do very nice work. Unfortunately that color looks like 1980s dusty mauve and mud had an ugly baby; it doesn't compliment the lovely golden oak of the dresser. Glad you were able to flip it for a good profit.
Thinking outside of the color wheel. The colors don’t look like they go together, but it really worked well for you as a flipper and the person looking for these colors. Gotta ❤ it!
White , Navy or black mixed with natural wood tones seem to be most popular in midwest for now, We're always about 10 years behind California. Reminds me of grayge color which was supposed to be a big hit.
I live in California and I am always 10 years behind California...but seriously I personally love classic, vintage, natural, antique, etc. What other people like, well, I usually just agree to disagree. :)
I don't love that color of paint with the wood tone that the original dresser had and I don't love the color of the year. I did like that Peel-Tek liquid masking product. Good job with the flip though. Glad you were able to sell it!
I kind of have to agree with the lady below who said the colors just don't quite move me. I am more in favor of darker colors when the wooden drawers are left. It has been hard enough for me to get used to painting beautiful wood but I am getting there - - - because that is what people want. I would like to know how long it took you to get that good on a sprayer?
Honestly I didn’t care for the combination of color and that Woodson but it is a nice piece of furniture and obviously someone had the perfect place for it.
It is good to see a new color be put into play to get a feel for it before purchasing. With that being said, I probably would not purchase this color. However, the color is a throwback to the 80s and the piece is from the 80s so it was a brilliant choice in that regard.
It’s not my preference. But taste is different for everyone. But liking it or not, you did a fabulous job on the piece. Someone out there will buy it for sure. Thanks for sharing.
I like the color of the new 2023 paint it has a little bit too much Rose in it are pink for my taste I like the one that would be slightly more neutral. However it is very nice and it is different. I do not like the wood that you left neutral or natural I should say. It's orange and does not go well with that pink color. I felt like you were trying to use a new color with what you had but I think it would have been better to do some painting or something of the other great techniques that you use. I just love what you do. If nothing else I'm going to incorporate new door handles on my furniture. You've shown how that really changes and adds to something. 🥰
I’m shocked it sold. It’s awful. Looks worse painted. But, you know the trends, so hats off to you. I think that is great. My sons girlfriend had me paint a piece of furniture for her and she chose 2 shades of this color. I thought it was awful, but I don’t have to live in her house, so I’m happy if she is happy. 🤷🏻♀️
Sorry the pinky flesh color is so 1970’s (I lived thru that era) I’m not on board. Ugh. You do great pieces, but Sherwin Williams missed the mark with 2023 color of the year.
I like the color- I dont consider it pink. It is a warm neutral. If I were doing it I think I would have painted the center bar on the wood drawers. Seeing the spray gun was a new thing for me! Awesome!
Uh, not for me, but must add I can’t quite figure out what I would do with it. That bit of cane detail seems to call for a more tropical approach. Redoing furniture to fit the latest trend may make sense for flippers, but when doing things for yourself, ignore the trendsetters and do what makes you happy.
I’ve been watching your channel as of recently. Your work is beautiful. This piece didn’t inspire me as much as others I’ve seen, but I’ve learned a lot from you and your business sense.
I am a beginner just started sanding an old coffee table, so I am glad I found your channel. I love Sherman Williams paint and was a little surprised by their color of the year-as I was last year! I love this color and saw a video on the different colors of the wheel that harmonize with it. I don’t like using paint on real wood but I understand a lot do. I am re-thinking my grey wood stain..maybe a paint wash to still see the real wood. Thank you I really like this.
Wow. Personally I would have done something to lighten the wood. It looks a bit yellow to me. Congratulations on the great flip. DFW is a great market. I can’t even find deals on FB marketplace, and for sure I would no be able to make a profit up here. Good going 👍🏻
What do you think of this NEW COLOR? Would this piece look good in your home? Be sure to let me know! AND thanks for being here!
I'm not liking the color, personally.
@@juliebarnett9812 me neither.
But I do like the color of the year.
Its not that I just don't like it, I think its repulsive. Hard for me to believe anyone would like it, but if it worked out for you and the new owner thats great.
It's not an attractive color, especially with this color of wood.
Not a fan of that color against that color of wood. But like someone else said, we all have different taste....I'm glad you were able to sell it.
👋,, how are you doing today; how’s everything going; hope it was a blessed 😇 day for you Kimberly?
I agree the wood and paint color doesn't look good together but to each their own right
It's the new IN color for this year or near it. Sorta peachy rose color IN for 2023. 🙂
Yes truly. It needed to be with stripped bare wood, not an oak color. That would have given it a Scandinavian look, which is what that pastel pink is based off.
I think going with bleached wood would look better….however, I think mahogany would unexpected, and beautiful!
Until I read so many comments agreeing with me, I wasn't going to say I don't like this color either. It's too non-color, like the creators couldn't quite decide what color it was going to be. But glad you found a buyer who loves it.
I like the style but the new color looks like an unappealing pink. The new owners love it 💕
That color reminds me of calamine lotion that we used to dab on our mosquito bites in the 70’s. Or, old pepto bismol. But your technique is great! 😊
Oh that is funny! Kinda does 😂! It is more beige in person. Thanks for watching & commenting! 🥰
Omg....yes.... you've hit the nail on the head. It is the exact color of calamine lotion.
Well, I'm not crazy about the color scheme but you did a great job. Congratulations on selling it at a good profit. I learned a lot. This is a great tutorial!
I would've preferred a lighter wood with that colour... but hey! She made hella profit, so good on her!!! 💚💰 💵
The sign of a great entrepreneur: creating value for your target audience. You understand what sells! Keep up the good work!
Maritza McKinney Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
I agree
Sorry I cannot see this color in my home, I'm glad someone could appreciate it.
Oh Yes! It is very southwest that's for sure. Thanks for watching!
This is the color of my walls, which is a great color here in Tucson.
Yes! It’s a desert color for sure! It would have looked fabulous in our old house in PHX
Red END point is a Mauve, i am not a fan but I'll stick around till the end of the video to see the results.
I don’t really like the oak color with the paint color but I am glad you made a great profit. Someone liked the color combo
Will always love white or light colored furniture no matter what the trend. 💕💕
You did a great job. I don't like the color combo, nor do I like the color of the year. The pale mauve color reminds me of foundation make up.
You did a beautiful job! I personally don't care for the new color. But, I am old school. Keep up the good work.
I'm seeing a peachy pink paint color. That was my thing in the 90s. I'm over it.
I'm sorry, I missed how this piece became BOHO just by painting some of it a flat brown color. For me the natural wood against that color of brown paint clashed, but I am happy that you were able to sell it to somebody who loved it.
She didn't say it was boho, she said I'm not doing the usual boho
@@helendertilis4686 I disagree. She said multiple times that she was doing boho since that sells well in her area.
@@helendertilis4686 she called it a boho Beuty at the end
It could be considered boho due to the woven inserts in the drawers.
Ditto. I did not like the color of the year. My choice would’ve been a dark teal to contrast the wood or paint everything
I like how you painted some, and let the natural wood show through in the most interesting places. However I personally would never paint any furniture that particular color, as I find that color hideous, especially with a golden hued wood.

Feel the same.
That color is pure 1980's! And the color of the wood. Back then, everything was peach and beige.
I think white will always sell! I personally don't like the new 2023 colors! I think I'll stick with what I know custiners buy but thanks for sharing!

No on the color but the sale proves you’re right on.👍🏼
Oh I love that piece! Not a fan of that paint color with that orangey stain but someone was because they bought it! 😂❤️
The color of the year reminds me too much of the color nude, from pantyhose we wore in the '80s! Glad it worked out on this piece.

You’re talented and enjoyable to watch. I appreciate your easy to follow directions. I’m not a fan of the paint color but that’s on Sherwin Williams 😉
I am not a fan of that color. It will probably grow on me if I start seeing a bunch of it, though. You did a beautiful job on the piece, as always!

I think I’ll do that on a future flip. I’ve had a lot of comments requesting it
Expertly done but sad to say I don’t like the paint colour or the combination. Glad you found a new owner who likes it.
I really LIKE this color and am using it on a dresser right now! Its actually a bit darker than the way it looks on your video. Thank you for sharing your expertise!😊

I Love white furniture 🤷🏻♀️!!!! It’s so clean looking!!! I Love wood as well!!!
Perhaps a white wash of the orange-y wood would have been nice with that color. The orange wood just didn't go well with that paint.
I agree with others about the colour combo, but as usual, your finish and attention to detail is exemplary!
Good God it's my my 1988 Florida bedroom piece flashback! Love it ,and to think you made $600 !! Great job and marketing!

The color reminds me of a band-aid but you had a vision & you made some money. Great job!
Couldn't see it in my home but BEAUTIFUL outcome.
I love it. It’s fresh and neutral at the same time. Totally see the Boho vibe. Will look great with wicker
Benjamin Moore's 2023 color palette is correct. Fabulous colors
Love the color!
Cute but so much for me! I am a sunny person!
@debragreen7272 Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
I had a bedroom in my apartment that exact color back in 1982…old is new again I guess.
It’s not my preference. But taste is different for everyone. But liking it or not, you did a fabulous job on the piece. Someone out there will buy it for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Don't love that pinkish color but I do like how it balanced the orange of the 80s wood. It worked for that piece, glad someone loved it.
Takes me back to the 80’s
Nooo! Black and neon/strong colours is the shit. Love that big city look.
The orange wood colour is not doing it for me, especially not with the salmony colour.
I like the color of the new 2023 paint it has a little bit too much Rose in it are pink for my taste I like the one that would be slightly more neutral. However it is very nice and it is different. I do not like the wood that you left neutral or natural I should say. It's orange and does not go well with that pink color. I just love what you do.
If nothing else I'm going to incorporate new door handles on my furniture. You've shown how that really changes and adds to something. 🥰
It appears I'm the only one that LOVES the color and what you did.
Love new color. Is great!
I do like the color. The piece turned out nice!
Perfect for a bedroom
I’m shocked it sold. It’s awful. Looks worse painted. But, you know the trends, so hats off to you. I think that is great. I figured blushes where coming into style, because rustoleum came out with a vintage blush spray paint. It is more mauve undertone.
I love that color!
That Peel Tek stuff is awesome! I cant wait to try it.
It's so good!
Loved the paint color, natural wood not so much! Thanks for introducing the new color!
This is really pretty. I am looking to repaint a white wicker set and I think this color would look quite sophisticated 😊
That's a great idea!
I use liquid sand. It works AMAZING to take off that cheap varnish. Try it you'll love it
Good to know!
Sorry the pinky flesh color is so 1970’s (I lived thru that era) I’m not on board. Ugh. You do great pieces, but Sherwin Williams missed the mark with 2023 color of the year.
Love white furniture
I like the color- I dont consider it pink. It is a warm neutral.
If I were doing it I think I would have painted the center bar on the wood drawers. Seeing the spray gun was a new thing for me! Awesome!
Wow beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Not a fan of the color with the wood BUT glad you sold it for a profit. Obviously there are peeps out there that like it!!!Great job.!!!!

Awesome 👍
Turned out beautiful.
@mariannworley9538 Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
I love that you’re a fabulous painter. I really hate the color. It would have been so cute with a better color choice.
I loved it and I was amazed how well that combo came together!
Not appealing for my taste but happy you found someone that liked it 😊
I am a beginner just started sanding an old coffee table, so I am glad I found your channel. I love Sherman Williams paint and was a little surprised by their color of the year-as I was last year! I love this color and saw a video on the different colors of the wheel that harmonize with it. I don’t like using paint on real wood but I understand a lot do. I liked the new color
Wow!!! That looked great! Thanks for informing us on the new color this year!👏🤗💪
Great job and I am so happy I found you!
Yay! Thank you! I’m happy you are here!
Nice job, but I’m definitely not a fan of the color scheme. I’m still in love with white. You can never go wrong with it! It’s timeless!
Fair enough. Thank you for watching.
Absolutely love this piece. I will use this video to inspire me when I do up my old hall stand. Thank you. Love your work, you do such an awesome job.
Thank you so much!
Boho Chic! Super fun for a young girl or young adult lady!
Great color
Great flip job. I do not care for the book look but this came out lovely.
Wow. Personally I would have done something to lighten the wood. It looks a bit yellow to me.
Congratulations on the great flip.
