yes, that was the Gremlin Rag by Jerry Goldsmith. I kinda a different version of it but still it. Which is good. I was bumbed when they did a completely different theme for the second movie. But when I think of Gremlins I hear The Gremlin rag. Also, we need to hear the Gizmo theme in this show. The one Gizmo sings.. and was also played when Billy put the bandage on his head. And when Wing showed up and Billy had to say goodbye to Gizmo.

And I bet everyone else in the production thinks so too, I think if they were to use it (CGI), it would be similar to the first Jurassic Park movie… sparingly.

I loved gremlins back in the day, I never thought a series would happen, especially towards a younger audience. I used to be terrified of gremlins, but I’m kinda glad to see a new way of gremlins.

@@billwenham In this animated version it looks like Gizmo is a miss pronunciation of his actual name. Which makes it quite a coincidence that Billy's Dad named him the same thing. But it's fine. I get it. You can't give the character a different name, the toddlers watching this might be confused. It's not a big deal.
The writers of this are morons who don't know anything about Gremlins. Why are they establishing this deep back story between the kid and Gizmo just to have the kid sell Gizmo? Since when is Gremlins about CGI magic and sorcerers? Why did they give a backstory to the box Gizmo is kept in? It's shallow fan service, that's it.

@@TimWrighttWdyms Gremlin was never about magic and sorcerers? It's origin is like that. Mogwai is a CHINESE MYTHICAL CREATURE and it is actually told by old Chinese folks. Just like how people talk about Chimeras or Parthia. The kid in this movie is related/referenced (keyword, related/referenced, doesn't have to be the exact same kid) to the kid who gave Gizmo away

For just over 30 years we had been asking for a gremlins 3...this is not it...GIVE US GREMLINS 3!!!!
Not gonna lie... I'm a 50 year old Gen Xer and I have watched every episode so far!😄🤫😄 I love the feeling of nostalgia...like a time machine back to my childhood.🥰 The animation is great. Love that they used the same tune as a theme song. Excited that this will make a whole new generation fall in love with Gizmo.❤️
I'm giving this a chance simply for the fact that a success could lead to a Gremlins 3. I really want to see Gizmo, Bill, Kate, Corey Feldman's character, Reinhold and even John Glover's Clamp on the big screen again, and directed by Dante and with practical puppets again. Also hearing the theme music would be a blast.
Watching the original film on TV was a joy during my childhood, and going to see Gremlins 2 on opening weekend 33 years ago was one of my favorite life memories!
If they keep the budget moderate but not too high (60 million tops, practical FX, preferably on 35mm), and cast some new well known actors, a third film would likely do very well at the box office and the fans would rejoice.
Zach Galligan, who plays Billy, had an idea for Gremlins 3. What would happen if they got splashed by some other liquid. What would be the result ?

I wrote down an idea six years back I think about this, HGH gremlins along with normal sized gremlins, Steve Carell as a scientist in Kingston Falls, montage of gremlins walking around on their smart phones, instead of Pokemon Go we have Gremlins Go where they set people up to find 3D gremlins on their smart phones, only to get jumped by gremlins etc. Part of Kingston Falls was redone by Clamp years after G2, but abandoned when Clamp found the town rather dull lol. Gizmo wears a high tech rain coat during a rain sequence with lighting, and there's an underground laboratory chase sequence with the huge gremlins bursting through walls and pushing cars over once on the main street. Summer or Halloween setting this time.
If this is a success they'll just make Gremlins 3 animated too.

I have a theory since Zach Gilagan is credited that we may get live action shorts continuing the point in time of the mountain dew commercial. They lore dropped some things with that mountain dew commercial.

The Mogwai is a fairy in Chinese mythology. When it rains, they get jiggy. The movie changed it to geting splashed with water. 🥰
It does my heart good to know that there's a community of good-hearted mogwai out there like Gizmo and not just the psychopaths we've seen so far

They are good, but they crave for food after midnight so that they can become those little monsters. The gentle aspect is just a ruse for someone feed them.
JOE DANTE!!! YOU’RE STILL KICKING! We chatted once in AOL Hollywood tonight, around 1991, do you remember? Hollywood tonight was the 'room' the industry people went late-night AOL chatting in the beginning of AOL and I happened to catch it and read fantastic conversations. Joe came in and probably gave answers and advice that potentially started the careers of many interns and kids at that time. Of course you remember. Thanks Joe, well done.
Looks awesome. Gremlins was one of my first favorite movies growing up and this looks like a fun introduction for a new generation.
Let this please inspire the creators to make Gremlins 3! I want (many of us want) one last hurrah!

I love the main villain (Riley Greene) is voice by Matthew Rhys who previously did Emperor Belos in The Owl House, and uses the exact same tone as him!!!

I actually like this but I’m also super bothered by it I couldn’t figure out why and it dawned on me as a Spin-off series thats it’s own thing is a great idea and it’s not too different to the point where I feel like it should have been a new original IP but being a prequel is kind of weird because it implies wizards and zombies exist in the same universe as the first two movies which isn’t what I think of when I think of those films

If this had been a 90s spin off cartoon... We would have accepted the zombies and magic.

Now the difference is that it's a play on technology and science failing (Gremlins in the machines) But, I think cartoon logic can prevail.

I have seen the show and Zach Galligan voices one of Greene's henchmen whose name is literally Henchman #2.
Need a proper gremlins sequel, practical effects and the original cast back. Can be about Billy and Kate coming back to Kingston falls with their teenaged kids for his dads funeral and then having to explain that their grandfather has been looking after gizmo all these years and now it’s their turn to take over gizmo.
Please make a Gremlins 3 now. One of my all-time favorite series. We need more Gizmo!😃

Watched the first episode. It's almost as though you have to divorce yourself of any knowledge of the original 2 films, they're definitely not connected.
The opening titles reminds me of the old episodes of Tales From The Crypt.
Not sure if I like it or not, I haven't made my mind up yet.
I had to tell myself Gremlins 2 is a Looney Toons episode. So... magic is a stretch, but it's fine. Meh.
If there had been a Gremlins cartoon series in the 90s they probably would have had a magic vaillain at some point hehehe.
@@CleverGirlAAH Your not wrong. It does have the old slapstick motif that The Looney Tunes are famous for. Plus the Chuck Jones opening is classic that never gets old. I'd say Gremlins 1 is darker in tone in comparison to 2, which is cooperate Media satire. One character we get more of is Murray in 2 which I love.

From what I can tell from this trailer, "Gizmo" has a name in his own language but Sam mishears it as "Gizmo" and the Mogwai just goes with it - and years later when Billy adopts him he gets the same name and again just goes with it as that's what he's always been called?
I love Gremlins and almost watch it all the time so finally knowing I’ll have new Gremlins content to watch makes my day

Just finished the series and it was really good
Gremlins is a kids horror movie, a la Stranger Things. This does not capture the spirit of the original film at all, feels like a bit of a mistake.
Let's give it a chance. The only issue I have with it thus far is the art style, which isn't bad, but I would have preferred something less stylized(less cartoony-looking). Also, 'Stranger Things' is absolutely not family-friendly! It is an age 13+ series.
Stranger Things is propaganda for LGBT. Gremlins isn't.
