    Just bought a 2013 Boss with only 2,500 miles on it, its a dream come true, and got a super deal on top of it. The thing that strikes me the most is it's really like getting two cars for the price of one. The regular Black key makes this car a very smooth driver, with great looks, power and rumble to boot. But then, run the Red track key, and it transforms into something much more reminiscent of a built/blue printed muscle car....its freaking impressive! Love it.

      Hi Nick, question if you don’t mind. I found a 12’ Boss near me with only 4300 miles. It’s red/white, mint condition. I currently own an 11 GT premium, and it’s a really nice car, but the Boss 302 has always been my dream car. Would you say that it’s totally worth owning a Boss and how much do you love it? I can afford the upgrade, but I am a very practical guy and I always try to talk myself out of things like this! Thanks for your time…Jason

    • @nickf9392
      @nickf9392 Год назад +2

      @@jasonlommen4769 Hey Jason, happy to share some thoughts with you. Yes, the car is stellar and a lot of fun to own. As with all things there are points to consider and, is it a fit for your life style. I would say its not for any one with kids or pets, and I missed deer season this year because its not going in the woods. Point is, it needs to fit your life style. Now on to the the car...it does require premium gas and at $4.00 + a gallon it can cost some bucks at the pump. My car averages around 21-22MPG on the highway and anywhere from 15-18MPG in the city. Make sure the previous owner DID activate the track key, most do. If not, that is expensive to do, so know that going in. The stock Perelli's (my 2013) are summer tires and states they should never be used in winter conditions and should not even be stored in less than freezing temps as they may develop cracking. So if you need to run in colder climates, you will need two sets of tires, or a good all season tire, either way, more money. Oil changes are going to be expensive as well, 9 quarts @$13ea +filter + labor = $125-150 depending where you get this done. Those few things out of the way, its a car you can't get enough of. I am thinking about knocking the wall out between my living room and garage, so I can stare at it while I'm sitting in my living room....its that nice.

      Nick, thank you so much for the feedback and your time, much appreciated. It’s always good to hear from someone who actually owns the car and drives it. I’m 48 and my lifestyle definitely permits me to buy a car like this. My kids are grown and it’s just me. Will only be a seasonal fun car, not a daily driver. The Boss has been my dream car since it came out. Now I’m finally in a position to pull the trigger! Love your comment about knocking out the wall attached to the garage, that’s great, ha!! It wasn't just the unique looks and very good handling that made the Boss 302 special. These engines are truly made for road racing: Forged steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, and CNC ported and polished cylinder heads, an intake manifold designed for higher flow at high rpm's. These are amongst some of the major improvements over the standard 5.0L V-8.

    I've been a Mopar guy for forever and appreciate the fact that when Ford released the retro design, it reignited the pony car war and prompted both Dodge and GM to get into the game. After that, Dodge built Challenger and then GM followed with the Camaro in 2010. We have been bugging Chrysler forever to offer us a muscle car, so between the two factors they finally did it and I'm so thankful. Then in 2014, Dodge shocked the world with the creation of hellcat and then last year the demon. Now there are rumors that they are currently producing a 1000hp monster Challenger and will be 300 lbs lighter, so they are taking things to a whole nother level once again

    Bro i just picked up an authentic true Roadrunner Boss 302 engine and only 3k miles on it. It was warranted cause of smoking on deceleration. Spark plugs looked brand new except for 2 that had oil fouling. Guessing it was factory defective rings or valve guides. Motor looks brand new. Gonna have my engine builder refresh and slap in my 11 5.0 with Gen 3r 82mm pulley on e85 for 780wheel. Boss motor is badass.

    • @mikes70mustang
      @mikes70mustang 5 лет назад

      William M Trexler incorrect again. The IRS still had wheel hop problems. Just like the s197 the first thing s550 owners have to do is switch to poly bushings.
