Cracks me up, tourists want to see the jungle and the rain forest yet get annoyed when it rains...every single day. Yes that is why there is a jungle and a rain forest!
I live in a tropical country and yeah... or want to climb volcanoes and are surprised when they get nasty cuts on volcano rocks and pass out from the altitude 🤡

Never been to the rainforest, but that is my attitude to the Pacific NW. You don't get such magnificent trees without a little rain a lot of the time.

@@Chahlie yes on the anti-humidity! Lived in Oakland my whole life and breathing felt like being under water when I visited Ohio one summer. My lungs weren't strong enough to draw in all that heavy wet air! 😳

I live at @ 3000 ft above sea level on a mountain in S. California. I have a great view of the Coachella Valley and the famous Palm Springs wind turbines. Last week I was outside cleaning my goat pen when a person floated by on a parasail!
Looked fun, but I sure hope they were able to clear all those wind turbines before they landed. Ouch!
Also became a passenger vehicle. I wonder if they got tipped?

My one encounter with an influencer…Carmel, California at the car week last summer. Watched an “ Influencer” climb over a red rope to drape herself on a $36 million dollar car, nano seconds later a cop picked her up and pretty much tossed her back outside the rope on to her inflated booty and told her to get lost. The laughter and applause from the crowd was deafening. Later overheard the car owner, who was an older gentleman, saying that it was frustrating taking the car out anywhere because of “influencers”. He didn’t mind people standing beside the car and taking a photo, but the influencers climb in or on the car (wtf?!) and get mad when told to stop! When he takes to an event, the promoters have to provide a security guard just to keep these idiots away from the car. (First world problems I know, but whatever happened to look but don’t touch?)
I'm kinda that way about my old beat up truck... An Influencer wouldn't get within yards of it. But I'll leave your stuff alone...

First world problems maybe, but I’m sure that man worked very hard for what he has and deserves the right to protect it. And heck, even if he won the lottery, it’s HIS. How did they miss the lesson to respect other people’s belongings that the rest of us learned by kindergarten?
People do the same with people's parked motorcycles. The owners hate when other people just randomly get on to take pics
@@mermaidlifeonearth Actually that's quite a bit Worse, IMHO They could jump in and out of my truck bed, you're more likely to do damage to yourself than my truck. Hop up on a Knucklehead or s Softtail or somebody's Ducati or Indian === it falls over you can do thousands of dollars damage just from knocking it over. I've found if you're interested and ask, folks are generally very bike proud and may well let you sit on it and start it up... But if you're influencing and hop on the wrong bike for a selfie on the wrong day... Your shoulders could be lonesome for your head..
Rain at the beach doesn't bother me. I mean, you're already wet after swimming. Thunder and lightning on the other hand, means to leave. And I have met some cool people ducking for cover and waiting out storms.
The best thing about it is that if you’re not thinking you will melt when you get wet, everyone else is staying in and you can do whatever excursions you wanted to do in peace. 😆

When it rains in the beach (at least in the beahcs of my country) it usually means that the water temperature will be a bit warmer too, so is a win win for me lol
Honestly, sometimes rain at the beach is better, it allows you to enjoy the water temperature more as the air temperature shifts.
I'm from Montreal and we.... don't claim those "influencers". It's extremely embarrassing; more so for them.
Its also extreemly dangerous to move like that in a big group on a flying plane. Theyre lucky they didnt cause a tuble that endet in a crash

Honestly, nobody blames anyone but those (multiple words I can’t say on here.) I lived outside Orlando and near the beach in Florida and in Miami. In a beach town in Maryland. Tourists are a freaking nightmare. Especially young people.

That charted flight is my WORST travel nightmare. I don’t care if I am apart of the group of people. I would be SO PISSED. And than to find out my flight home got canceled because these a**holes partied like they were on Spring Break while on the flight? I’d ditch them all, and never talk to them again.

I agree about the infamous influencers flight, we don’t claim them. In fact, it tarnished the word influencer even more than it was already to the point that you’ll be permanently mocked if you claim to be one. Transport Canada is having a field day investigating and fining these “ostrogoths”, as our Prime Minister called them.

I'm definitely say don't ever accept a ride from a stranger especially in especially in a different country. Not safe at all even in pairs. I would never wear a wig in the water.

Many years ago now there was a local couple who sailed to Australia, accepted an offer from a local 'guide', got taken to the top of a mountain and beat up with field hockey sticks. He had a serious brain injury and she was badly beaten. I think she wrote a book afterwards. It was heartbreaking. Pay the tourist premium for an accredited guide unless they come personally recommended by a trustworthy person.

You should look more into the Quebec influencers "saga" specially about the organizer of the trip: he's about to be in soooo much trouble with the gouvernment, also he bought like 5 houses on s street to organize parties regardless of the other houses around, he have STATUES of HIMSELF (3 I think) around his propriety. The guy at 12:26 reminded me of a picnic when my children were small. We lived on the coast in northern/central California. We were on the beach eating sandwiches. My 6 year old was about to take a bite when a seagull swooped down and snatched it right out of his mouth. He was in hysterics because he thought he was about to be eaten by the bird. It all worked out when we showed him that the seagull was eating his sandwich about 10 feet away. He then started laughing at the bird. It was fun for him after that.
Vacations are about having fun, in spite of any problems.
Things are often not going to be perfect, or anywhere near what one might expect at home.
I recommend just treating it as an adventure.
Some of the worst situations that have happened to me on vacation, have made the best stories to tell afterwards.
A vacation is not so much about location, as it is about attitude.

As a Mexican, who can’t afford to go visit my home town or want to because of COVID reasons I am glad that all these fools who obviously do not care about the native population are having an awful time.
As a Honduran-Nicaraguan seeing all these people on spring break and 🛳. Same. 😂 And Cuba is supposed to have the BETTER health care of Latin America, that lady got off easy.
Yessss, we have friends in Cancun and they were struggling, every other week a family member would get covid, since most cancun locals work at the resorts, and would ask for prayers bc they were terrified, it was so upsetting to witness.
How lightly we’re treating Covid now is pretty alarming, especially considering that when we travel and give it to poor people who are likely hotel staff, restaurant staff, etc. in other countries they don’t have the same medical care that we have here. Like what a big ass yikes. “Whoops, too bad you’re on a breathing tube, but my selfie looks awesome!”
But there's also a bigger problem, because some os those countries cannot close their borders, once their main income comes from tourism. Covid brought a hard situation for those places.
@@Hawkmoon1981 I mean it's a good idea...but the reason there's no universal standard is that there's no one governmental agency with jurisdiction over the whole world. So individual countries will continue to choose whether or not to put tourism profits over the health of their citizens.
@@rustinstardust2094 I think the world in this modern era just didn't expect something like Covid to happen. There was no prep time for an international plauge so no one was able to put in those precautions and think of the ramifications towards tourism.
We've always had contagious diseases. Always.
In Georgia we opened up quickly, May 2019. Guess what. No more deaths than those tyrannical states.
Depression and economic collapse is worse than covid.
What's good for preventing flu? Sunshine, exercise, and positive social engagement.
I stopped following an influencer because she went to Brazil mid Lockdown and was posting vlogs on how fantastic it was there. All while we had news on the TV about how Brazilians were desperate to find oxygen bottles. We have free healthcare here and as fantastic as it is, it makes people dumb.
I have no pity for "influencers" who want to get FREE vacations but gripe about the quality.
12:30 that looks like it's in the Netherlands, there's stands here selling raw herring with onions (tbh I'm guessing half of the people eating them are tourists but OK). Especially if you're in cities near-ish to the sea there's seagulls who are total experts in stealing people's herring, particularly because people will stand and pose with them for pictures, making them a perfect target. There's generally signs at the fish stands as well that you have to watch out for the birds and that there are no refunds or new herrings lolol

In Helsinki (and i assume pretty much any city anywhere by the sea) if you go to Market Square, buy some fried vendace ( a type of fish), you seriously need to cover your portition with your body while you eat/go to tent to eat or seagulls will get it all.
Same goes in amusement park in Helsinki and if you dare buy fries.

To be fair to the doctors in Cuba, a fracture on the fibula is unlikely to bWalking on a broken fibula isn't ideal, but luckily it's non-weight bearing so unlikely to have seen on Xray until about 72hrs+ after injury, unless it was displaced, and walking on it is unlikely to have done much damage. Donovan McNabb (NFL/QB Philadelphia Eagles) played a full quarter on a broken fibula, and Cole Beasley (NFL/WR Buffalo Bills) played 3 GAMES leading up to the AFC Championship game.

That seagull clip is from the Netherlands and this happens to ALL the tourists...lol. The seagulls swarm around the herring stands at the beaches or seaside tourist spots and just wait and then pounce.
I live in Florida and this is the same on our beaches. It doesn't matter what you're eating. I've seen seagulls snatch whole slices of pizza, sandwiches from Subway, single Cheetos, and pretty much anything else edible. Trash birds.

Charlotte, this video made me feel so much better about my current situation. On the 3rd day of our vacation in Barcelona, Spain I started feeling sick, so I got tested. Corona has come calling. Now I'm in isolation and my husband won't come near me. 😢 It's good to know I'm not the only one.

Char, Put vitamin E on your leg to heal it quicker (if it's scabbing). My pharmacist friend told me you can cut open a vitamin E pill and use that liquid on your skin. Def works to quickly heal skin. Done it a few times on scrapes.
Vitamin C helps with skin discoloration and its helped me with scars(only scars from healing injuries not old scars)so using both could help w any scar if it's there
I knew a Canadian who would spend the winters in Cuba. He sailed his boat down there, loaded with trade goods like fish-hooks and canning jars, and would swap them for produce and seafood. He lived like a millionaire every winter.

11:54 okay, but you can't blame the beach on the hotel. They can't control water levels. I mean The great lakes alone have caused damage to roads and sidewalks and piers in recent years so it doesn't surprise me that there is concrete by the Ocean which is a much more powerful force of destruction and actually had a tide that rolls in and out reducing the amount if available shoreline. Not to mention that that specific shoreline doesn't seem to have much of a dune ecosystem, with grasses/shrubs etc, which makes it significantly more likely to be affected by the water levels.

I've heard you need to quarantine for 3 days watching all the old vids. It's the only cure.
I studied abroad in Malaysia some odd years ago (well before COVID), but I made a point to visit during the dry season so that I could take in the beaches. I feel like if you're visiting a tropical climate, you should plan for the weather accordingly instead of complaining. Likewise, I would expect somebody visiting where I live to bring a sweater!
I’ve always loved the rain since I was a kid. So on vacay if it rains, embrace being wet , change of clothes in a bag, run for it and get in the car to find something to do.
Or stay home and enjoy a day of rest on your vacation listing to the rain in a beautiful new place.
I'm so sorry your burn is still healing!!! I did that once and I did a lot to prevent scarring.
What you need to do is massage it daily with an intense moisturizing cream until it's healed completely. It'll get the blood circulating there and help the skin heal.

My grandmother had one of those jacuzzi tubs. I was taking a bath and when she wasn’t looking I dumped a whole bottle of bubble bath in after she told me not to. She had to dig me out of the bubbles and spent a considerable amount of time cleaning bubbles from her bathroom. I was amazed that an entire bathroom could fill with bubbles.

My niece accidentally put soap in the hot tub in our hotel room a couple years ago. It wouldn't stop foaming. My young son loved it. It was hilarious. We definitely cleaned well but it was a fun trip.
On one holiday in Wales, on one day but in totally different towns, my daughter got an ice cream cone taken out of her hand by a seagull and I got a cookie taken out if my hand by a seagull. We go to a different seaside location every year this has never happened before or since - just twice on the same day!

I just went to Boston for a 5 day sales meeting. Got COVID, ended up being there another week, stuck in my hotel room. No balcony, but yes for room service. Thankfully, being double vaxxed and boosted, I wasn't ill and didn't pass it along. Glad to be home.

I think it was hurricane Gilbert, but before I knew about the hurricane I thought it was a wonderful time to introduce my lovely bride to South Texas, where I grew up, for a vacation. Yeah... She was a bit preoccupied with everyone boarding up their windows and freaking out. Hurricanes put a damper on the vacation vibe.

I've had so many crazy things happen to me all over the world. Puking on Waikiki beach, Walking into a human sized spider web in Fiji, Wearing my evening gown inside out at the Plaza hotel in NYC, (It was dark) Fell when my suitcase hit a bump in London. I could go on. My hubby says he can't take me anywhere! And I'm not even an influencer!
I can so relate with the spider webs. My friends and I almost walked into a whole bunch that completely covered a path to Palm Beach in Sydney Australia. You've never seen a group of people scream so loud or run so fast 😄

Ironic twist on the weather bit. My friend, daughter, and I went to Ireland from sunny California. We were hoping for some great thunderstorms. Ireland had one of the sunniest weeks on record I think while we were there. We got one very short night of rain which we celebrated with a fire in the fireplace in the middle of April.

Took my leg almost 5 months to heal fully from a glue gun burn like your exhaust burn Charlotte. I have a lovely glue blob shaped scar 😬 figured it must have been pretty deep and I probably should have sought medical attention 🤣🙈 oops!
When travelling through SE Asia we called the exhaust burns "Thai Tattoos"
... some of these remind me of what my uncle used to tell us all the time: if you're gonna do something dumb, suffer because you deserve the consequences. ATVs aren't meant to be 'whipped around', they roll over - the warning is plastered right there on the fender. Boat decks get SUPER slippery (this is why a lot of people will put grip tape on them when it's a closed bow!) and standing too close to the edge is asking for it. And idiots traveling to places for vacations during Covid deserve to be stuck.

Poor people, I hope they'll get better soon! Thank you, it make me happy that I can't afford holidays since 2011...! It's not that makes me happy, but less jealous of people who can go 1 ore more times a year on holiday. I think it's ok that they stranded in Mexico, people make rules so that you can live together, if you have a problem with rules, and therefore a problem respecting other people, go leave alone on a top of a mountain...

We live in a vacation resort town, so Influencers are the funnest thing to watch.
Unexpected layover in Caracas, no place to stay for the night. Airport dude recommended a hotel, got us a cab. An hour in the cab later, driving through every sketchy neighborhood in the city, we thought we had been kidnapped. Just as we were ready to jump out of the cab, we finally pulled up to our destination. Cement slabs coming out of the wall with mattresses on them, pesticide being sprayed up and down the hall, no hot water, but really lovely proprietors. I’ll still think twice about advice from airport dudes in the future, though.
I have found that the best place to get advice on places to stay when overseas, especially in a city which has poorer villages around it, is from restaurant staff. The staff come from villages to the city to get work and they generally have the village mentality of being kind to visitors. It's the best way to see the real parts of a country :)
