I saw Patti do this song at Stony Brook Univ when it first came out. She sang it twice👍 She was wearing a mink which she threw on the stage floor.

It's a song of legend. Bruce wrote it but didn't fit on Darkness on the Edge of Town. Patti loved it, rightly so, and then nailed it, spot on. I have both, 1978 Darkness 12" 33 vinyl and Patti Smith 7" 45. Stunning stuff. 😁👍
