She and Sunni were the reasons to watch. Alex was the sweet approachable professional and Sunni was the life of the party. Alex's dishes were always elegant and composed but not pretentious. I thought the five of them were a great fit. Alex was elegant and composed Jeff is your wacky brother uncle Sunni is the life of the party talks and jokes to everyone master of shortcuts. Katie Lee was a sweet country girl who you brought in the healthier alternative. GZ is an iron chef who is a master of all cuisines. Without Alex to anchor the show he is out of place and I feel like they pick on him for beinb a snob.
I love watching Katie Lee, GZ, Jeff and Alex. They need to get rid of Sunny! She is so childish especially during the Halloween episodes. She thinks only of herself.
I used to watch FN a lot, but not anymore! There is too much of Guy and bobbie. Way too many contest shows or bake off shows! There used to be shows with chefs or ordinary home cooks showing how to make recipes, for example, Madame Benioux(spelling maybe wrong), chefs that had cooking schools, and the like, but no which is very very sad indeed !😢
Even though I'm learning ALOT from watching various shows..Guy is on way too many shows and I can only tolerate Flays Triple Treat 🥰. FN put Gordon Ramsey on and I would love to see Bobby vs. Gordon..

Alex G is by far the best chef on food network. I was so glad when Marcella left the show but her absence definitely left a hole in the cast. Alex was a perfect fit for that missing piece. Honestly the newest season feels like something is wrong between the remaining cast. The first episode of this season felt awkward and tense. Might not be worth watching anymore TBH…

Food Network doesn't even begin to compare Cooks Country and America's Test Kitchen. Any of the cooking shows on PBS are way better. They show you how to cook.

I am sick of Guy Fieri. Why does he have so many shows on FN? The Kitchen is okay but it's a copycat of The Chew, an ABC show that first appeared in 2011. It starred Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Daphne Oz and Mario Batali. They were in a kitchen and had a lot of audience participation which nade it fun. Mario Batali's scandal probably helped end that show. I love the bakeoffs especially with kids. I also like Kardea Brown and Rhee Drummond. I will watch anything Alex Guarnaschelli is on. I am a huge fan of Chopped. Wish they would bring back the Food Network Star Challenge. That competition gave so many chefs a spotlight and more opportunities.
She currently has two shows airing with new episodes on Food Network and a new season of Alex vs America soon. She’s been filming in Italy for Ciao House so maybe that’s why she was gone? Who knows.

I'm just finding all this out today! I went to watch The Kitchen and was like, "Where is Alex?" Actually, I used to hate The Kitchen, and also, I hated Alex on Chopped. But watching Alex on other shows, l started to like her, then began to LOVE HER! I started watching The Kitchen again because of Alex. Now, she's gone! Ugh!
Food Network needs to add new shows with new cooks/chefs. Guy has monopolized the network. I don’t think many people want to watch him traveling with his family. He’s on something every day and it has become unbearable to watch. Where are all the home cooks? Bring Emeril back! Bring some excitement back to the network.

I am glad. She used to be one of my favorites. But after she was so rude on another show where she got cut and yelled at everyone, including the cameraman, and told him not to film. I lost a lot of respect for her. She could have handled it with more grace. It could have been a teaching moment.

I always watch them and even lie with headphones (adhd) and fall asleep with their shows playing. It’s my safe space And Jeff Mauro always lifts my spirits by making me laugh. He must have been such a challenge at school. Just Lurve him I want her back. She’s part of the family 😊

@@bkm2797 the only thing that makes sense to me is that she might have asked for some off time spend time with Ava and they told her no. She's one of the biggest stars (probably 2nd to Guy) on the network and is still on 3 other shows. She may have not liked it and they wanted more consistency on the show because it was the biggest complaint with the previous host.

I stopped watching the food network. It's no longer interesting to watch. It's turned to all reality and contests. Too much Guy shoved down viewers throat. I've moved on.
Every time I turn around, husband is watching some car program or the Food Channel. He's fascinated, I'm not. I'll be glad when the whole thing moves to streaming. So NOT paying to watch that boring crap. Alex is the only and best thing on FC.
Frankly it is a wonder to me that they still even call it the FOOD Network - It stopped being that years ago - turned into a game show channel with people I really do not care about. I will watch INA occasionally but otherwise there is almost nothing there I am interested in. WHile I admit that I was not into ALEX based on her heavy handed way she would be a judge on shows - I originally watched the Food Network to learn new things about cooking - not to learn how quickly I can make a meal from three ingredients I never use.

Every time I turn around, husband is watching some car program or the Food Channel. He's fascinated, I'm not. I'll be glad when the whole thing moves to streaming. So NOT paying to watch that boring crap. Alex is the only and best thing on FC.
Frankly it is a wonder to me that they still even call it the FOOD Network - It stopped being that years ago - turned into a game show channel with people I really do not care about. I will watch INA occasionally but otherwise there is almost nothing there I am interested in. WHile I admit that I was not into ALEX based on her heavy handed way she would be a judge on shows - I originally watched the Food Network to learn new things about cooking - not to learn how quickly I can make a meal from three ingredients I never use.
Tired of all the drama, loved the cooking shows but don't watch anymore. Keep your personal lives out of your jobs. T.v should be enjoyable

She admits to getting mad when she is mad or frustrated. She also said please when she told the camera person do not film her bleeding. Most New Yorkers would have threatened bodily harm if they didn't back off. I'm from frim Chicago and have been aggressive when injured. I really don't think you have the right to judge someone who didn't want to be filmed bleeding.

I watch FN all the time, not anymore. There are too many game shows and not enough learning shows. Loved the old shows like Paula, etc. Love the kitchen, not crazy about Alex. Never watch any of her shows.
