Thanks! Socket now fixed. One thing to point out, there is ANOTHER fuse with the cigarette lighter logo on it 3rd in from the right, at the bottom. I changed this one and it made no effect. You need to look a the one in the MIDDLE of the fusebox, like on the video. Thanks for showing the one I'd missed, in your video!!!
Brilliant, this fixed the power outlet that wasn't working on a 2007 fiesta (1.4 petrol). Cost me only £1.53 for the fuse (& that was for a pack of 10!) 😆😊🙏🏼
That's just the crazy design of them unfortunately, I imagine the best way to wire it so it only comes on When you want would be to wire it to the ignition
At a guess it might be worth looking at it and seeing if it's got cigarette ash in it from the cigarette lighter. Give the contacts a wipe and if the issue still occurs then check the connection underneath. If you still cant find a issue then you might be better off just replacing the barrel as it's quite easy to get to.
Its just a standard 15 amp fuse. If you go to your local halfords or sutton auto factors they will stock them their. Alternatively just type 15 amp fuse in ebay and it should come streight up with them. Just remember it's a blue fuse.
I thought my fuse had gone in my fiesta, and replaced it, and it still didn't work. I was looking at the cigarette picture at the bottom of the guide 😅
@@gazza9919 no no, it's definitly was the fuse. The 3 down 6 across one you changed was the one I needed to swap out. I changed one that was on the bottom row. On my guide that has a cigarette on it as well.
Well tbh it's true, it's not your cigarette lighter that's faulty it's the fuse? Where as mine is actually faulty so when i read the heading on your video i thought great i'l get a heads up on how to fix it before i start messing about with it.
@@gazza9919 Mines works but i'v got to f**k about with it and has to be at the right angle or it won't stay working, soon as i go over a bump in the road it more than likely stops working. Now and again it works the whole time i need it too but that's just because i managed to plug it in at the best angle first go 😴 As far as i'm aware you can buy a replacement one and the old one pulls out and you remove the little plug thing from the back of it and put plug in the new one and slot it back in? Sounds good in my head but guaranteed it will be alot more complicated than that. OR i'l manage all that and it will still be s**t 🤣

Do you know why the fiesta has two spots? Ive just replaced my cigarette lighter with a USB port and it remains on, hoping to be able to turn it off.

Mine does work but it is temperamental when changing my phone. It'll disconnect if slightly nudged. Any idea what this could be?.

my ciggarette port doesn’t even have a wire connected to it and i don’t see any snipped wires or anything
I don't know what to tell you to be honest mate. The gear gator is somewhat easy to remove if you want to have a bit more of a look at it
Ive got the same proplem cig lighter not working changed the fuse and still not working
Try checking the wiring to see if there are any breaks
Where did you get the new Fuse from? And what type is it please? 15amp?
Sutton auto factor and yes it is a 15

The plastic around the metal has come snapped off on my Mk6 and is now loose. Any ideas on where to get a replacement for the plastic?
Would either advise going to a scrap yard or eBay
