Kenny had 6 quarters without Canada and no TD passes. It wasn't all Canada. he is an easy scapegoat, but you saw mason throw TDs with the same playbook.

Picket was more of a story than a genuine first round talent (Pitt to Pittsburgh). Pickett has some good intangibles on the field, versus his off-field attitude of not wanting to compete. He is a good backup to Hurts if he's out for an extended period of time, but he is not a franchise starting QB that will take your team deep into the postseason. I regarded him as a mid-round talent who would be a good backup and a serviceable starter - nothing more.
I saw Pickett interviewed in a Florida hotel room on this YT video and he came across as a great kid. But after last year? He just put a ceiling on his career.
Steelers are on one y’all ! Excited to see what is next. My opinion is no 1st round QBs. Focus on our other needs first! Seems like later round QBs are more successful long term anyways (Mahomes, Brady, and Purdy to name a few lol)

I think Ryan Tannehill is still available, but Dobbs signed an extension with Minnesota
Khan is playing chess while the others are playing checkers. It's March 15th so I am not worried about this. Khan got more for Kenny than I thought we could get. Sign Tannehill and get a QB in the draft and they will be fine.

Its too bad Mason signed elsewhere but no need to worry, between FA and the draft the spots will get filled. Crazy part is, both back up QBs will cost more than Russ, but his salary is what is affording us the ability to go get some players we'll need. Khan is obviously a very different operator than Steelers are used to.
Mike Tomlin has made it clear once and that’s the only time he needed to say it. We don’t hold hostages. We also don’t have time for mustard heart energy which is what Kenny brought to the table and will be remembered for. You’ve gotta learn his role, roll with the program and grind until your time is here. Kenny wasn’t there for that, he didn’t want to roll with the adversity so Omar Khan let him walk and now we sit here on the verge of possibly bringing in not only Justin Fields but we are definitely drafting a QB. Russell Wilson would’ve been a great QB for Kenny to learn under but he wasn’t having any parts of it so goodbye to him. Looking forward to the 2024 NFL Season 💪🏿

Steelers are not looking for a franchise QB in this year's draft. They may pick up a QB in later rounds, mostly looking for a young good backup QB

I think the Steelers were willing to give Kenny another opportunity down the line, they just saw another opportunity to acquire a nine time super bowl winning pro bowler at QB in Russell Wilson and seized that opportunity. They were hoping that Kenny would be a team player and chill back and back up Russ for a couple years, and then the plan was to go back to Pickett when Russ was done to see if any improvements were made, (think of a Geno Smith like senerio). And in a nutshell Kenny wasn't down for that, and reports from local Pittsburgh media say he felt misled by the Steelers. So he asked for a trade, and Mike Tomlin wanting volunteers not hostages. Happily obliged.

Word is Krnny wanted out once Rss signed, and Im sure once he gave his press conference speech and seen how poised and confident Russ looked and spoke, he knew it was a wrqp for him. Kenny doesn't look or act confident. He never looked happy or smiled. He played scared football in his 2023 season and didn't command the offense, let alone doesn't know how or when to step up in the pocket, nor does he know play-action or throw the deep ball. These are ALL the things that Russ can do regardless of his age. Kenny knew he would lose against Russ this spring or aunmer competing for the job. Plus, whatever Russ said to Omar, Mike, and the Rooney's on Saturday for 6 HOURS obviously won them over. Then the press conference was the icing on the cake that he was their guy. They probably told Kenny today,, that thwy decided Russ is QB1, and you can sit and learn behind him, and his privileges assz said, " I rather move on." So the organization was most likely like, " We're happy to oblige you." Kenny probably felt embarrassed and shamed losing his job to a QB that Denver wiped their hands with and did him dirty. And whatever the negatives that came with it. KP was probably called out and made fun of by his friends and family and those who were die-hard KP followers. So to no longer live miserably, Kenny was like, " I'm OUT.

Don’t agree with the offensive free agency. If you were considering trading Pickett then why wouldn’t you keep mason ? You shipped out your best route runner and all you have is a 50/50 ball wr. A lot of questions and concerns with Pittsburg
I don't think they were planning on trading him unless he asked to be traded. I think it worked out good because pickett really hasn't shown anything . Now you have a extra 3rd rounder. You can get a Center and or Tackel in the 1st, get a ll Dline men in 2nd round , then you can either draft a Qb and Wr in 3rd. Then in the 4th you can get a safety or another WR. There our alot of Options out there. They will defenitly draft a Qb, but they will also pick up a Qb in free agency, possibly Josh Dobbs due to his Familarity with the team. This is so huge. I'm pumped up let's go.

@@balayagesalon Kenny, Mitch and Mason all ran plays out of Canada’s playbook. Let’s assume it was the greatest playbook in the world. Which of those three would you want executing the plays? At some point it doesn’t matter whose playbook it is if the person executing those plays doesn’t possess the talent to compete in the NFL.
That just goes to show you that it doesn’t matter what draft pick a player was. Tom Brady was a lower pick and he had a great career. How you perform in the NFL is the true test to show what you’re made of.

Never figured to me letting Rudolph go and getting Wilson, but now it makes sense next they trade for Fields to align the QB room. JMO
The only thing about Fields is having to decide on his 5th year option. They made trade for him as a 1 year back on the Rookie deal. But wouldn’t think he would be competing with Russ for QB1.
@@simfballcritic The two are too much alike in styles for this to be a coincidence...what Pittsburg gives up and is able to negoitate with Fields/agent is a mystery but I thinks Fields will come to Pittsburg to learn from Wilson. The other possible senerio is maybe their looking to draft Rattler who's style may align ???

We are going to trade a late round pick for QB Malik Willis. They wanted him anyway but Kenny was next door & they chose a story line instead of "gut".
Tells me Pickett was a crybaby and it’s a shame cuz I did like the kid but when I heard last year when he said no when they asked him if he learned anything. And I can’t remember what beat reporter, but they did say about him, not wanting to dress as the third QB. That was obviously true shame I just hope he don’t ball out say hurts gets injured and Kenny wins a bunch of games and looks like a franchise QB I’ll be a lil upset but hey glad to see them moving off him.
