    76Highboy Reloading Forum: www.76highboy....
I finally got the chance to upgrade my firearm maintenance/knife sharpening/project bench. I tend to get a lot of projects rolling all at once and real estate is always a premium. To me, the most important feature any work bench can have is the Flush Mount Quick Change Base Plate by Inline Fabrication. Don't just think of Inline Fabrication as a reloading related product. It's more! It' a tool with multi-functions. Anybody that works with wood (especially if your skilled with a router) or someone who works on automotive projects, knife sharpening or anything, this is a quality piece of equipment that will enable you to more wisely use your bench space and I highly recommend it.
While installing two Flush Mount Quick Change Base Plates onto my bench I made a simple video. If you have questions, feel free to join www.76highboy.... and ask. Below are a few tips to help you install this piece of equipment onto your bench. I hope this helps.
    God bless,
    Highboy
    1) Take your time and enjoy the process.
    2) Route the bench so the edge of the plate cantilevers over the edge of the bench exactly 1 1/2".
    3) Route EXACTLY 7/16" deep into the bench.
    4) Unless your plate was already mounted with existing holes, it is best to route first and then drill.
    5) If your holes were already drilled, simply nail your jig to the bench before unfastening the plate from the bench.
    6) Measure twice, cut once!!!

Highboy awesome video as always buddy. Just finishing up on installing my last Inline Fabrication order for my new reloading bench, which also included a couple of quick change plates for my T7 and Lee APP presses.

Highboy this long version restored my faith in your guy! When l saw him using the small router plate on the short video l thot 😬 but now when he switched to the big plate 😊👍. Looks great l’m going to do mine. I’ll save my sawdust for you!

I learned about making supports to float the router over the center area, "after" I routed the surface. But you can't beat the end result making your bench much more usable. My bench has the front support at the edge so I used the 6 inch 1/4 20 bolts and placed cap nuts on the ends. Good Job!

Love my inline Fab stuff. Got a flush Mount and plates for my T-7, a vise, and even the small chop saw to trim brass for 300blk! Easy to swap and store!

I didn't want to route my bench, so I just bought the spacer plate that Inline Fab sells. So much easier.

Well I think you are missing the point. I already have 10 of these and most of them have the spacer plate. The reason I am routing these two down is so they are flush mounted which enables me to use it as a flat, smooth top. This is just one more additional way to use it. Highboy

@@76Highboy I certainly can see that. It just wasn't going to work out for my bench, even if I wanted to do the routing. My bench is made up from our old kitchen cabinets, so there are drawers that I still needed access to (side bin setups on my presses get in the way). That's what's great about the IF stuff, they have mount solutions that work for a variety of benches.

i want to put one of these in flush on a butcher block countertop work bench. I don't have much room underneath it to allow the bolts to protrude below the underside because i have a Husky tool cabinet on wheels with less than an inch of space between the top of the cabinet and the underside of the bench. Should i just use shorter bolts? Or cut the bolt ends with a hacksaw? Or can i use short screws instead of long bolts drilling an appropriate sized pilot hole for screws of a similar head size and diameter?
