    Other sourcing tips: Look for stuff put out for garbage AFTER an estate sale . Often they will throw out stuff that they would NOT think anyone would buy - like old food products , Storage containers, ephemera, cosmetics, soap sets , giftware, hardware , Linens , etc.

    • @resellcny
      @resellcny  3 месяца назад

      Oh yeah that is a solid tip.. I’ve actually heard that people have done really well with items they get like this!!

      I do something similar for garage sales. I’ll save them and drive by an hour or 2 after the garage sale is over for free stuff by the curb. Sold a few things this way.

    12:09 REALLY IMPORTANT if you can: TAG these with a DATE , not just the word "vintage". People get so SLOPPY with this and it will cost them sales. These are OBVIOUSLY from the mid to late 1960s - and possibly EARLY 1970s. I will approximate - generally - just so that people's EYE will go right to it - IF they DON'T want 1980s stuff (or 1940s stuff) . "Vintage Easter Die-Cut Decorations 1967 - 1971 Era Mixed Lot" . Was there a BRAND name ? Did it say "Hong Kong" or "Taiwan" or "Japan" or "Made in USA" ? It would not hurt - to throw in the word "Hallmark" because that is pretty much the audience for this.

    Good answer on sourcing. I live in Kansas City and there are 50+ thrift stores. Some good, some bad. Clothes are king, and you have to know 500 brands to be the ace. I also find good toys, games, books, and kitchen stuff. You just have to know when and where to go with thrift and go a lot.

    Great video! I've been searching for a good collection to purchase, but I can't seem to find much here in Georgia. Even if I do, it's usually pretty far away, and since I don't have my license yet, I have to convince my dad to drive me three hours 😂. Hopefully, someday I can get my first collection to sell, especially once I get my license; I can really upscale my reselling business. Personally, I focus on garage sales, and with the weather getting warmer here in Georgia, more and more sales are popping up.
    Your comment about Goodwill is so true, lol. I rarely find anything there, and everything is overpriced. I prefer local thrift stores; I've been flipping a lot of cheap plushies from 50 cents at my local thrift shops, selling them for $10 - $25. Also, had my greatest sale a couple of days ago for $300; I paid $25. Love watching your videos, especially the side of pulling and packing orders. It feels like that's not covered much in the reselling community; mostly, it's just Go-Pros at garage sales and flea markets.
    Really appreciate the unique content you guys are putting out; keep it up! And congrats on monetization!

    Nice! I really do think there should be a mix of both lower priced items and higher priced items. With the economy what it is, not everyone can buy the expensive things. I see a trend of resellers listing only higher priced items as a business model and I get that, everyone should have their own goals, but I think you are smart to include a mix. You'll get the customers they miss out on. Just my thoughts anyway! 😊

    You pretty much summed it up. Network, network, network... The more connections you have the more of a chance you have to find collections, IMO. Some military dealers I know come across toys and they have no interest and know I like vintage toys, so they get ahold of me, then either sell to me or hook me up with the person selling and vice versa with toy guys that may find military.

The custom SKU can be found in the item specifics when you were listing your item on eBay. I will try to show in one of our upcoming videos because it is something that everyone should know.. thanks again

    In Germany, sourcing seems to me to be a bit different in general compared to the USA. In the beginning, I only bought collections on ebay.I'm into the niches of comics, collectibles and media. The advantage here is that my hometown has almost 4,000,000 inhabitants.

      Most of my smalls do not cost much at all to ship. If they do then I just add the shipping cost to the price or just charge shipping from the get-go. As long as your purchase price on the item is within an acceptable range then your profit margin should within reason. I’ve noticed that, while I do make ok money on smalls, the biggest positive is the clientele that it brings to my eBay store. They might come for the small(s) but I notice that they eventually come back and purchase something else that has a higher profit margin…as long as you have a good mix of items

    Tell the person that lives in a desolate area who needs to travel to source : even if you have to drive for HOURS : FIND A FLEA MARKET . One single GOOD flea market is better than 50 Goodwills and 100 lame garage sales with baby clothes. Flea Markets tend to be "unfiltered". People tend to make pricing mistakes. And lots of sellers - are "house cleaners and JUNK removal" - and they RENT trucks to HAUL . Many of them DO NOT WANNA go home with the stuff! Many of them- at the end of the day: do "Everything Here: $1.00". TRY to find something at Goodwill for One Dollar . Not happening.

      Actually, flea market was something Paul and I were talking about utilizing for our sourcing… we have never been and we have scoped out the Syracuse one.. hopefully that happens some day soon! I’d love a new treasure hunt
