@@fion3943 well trying stuff on pizza that's a good way to give something new a try because you really can't screw up if you try something on pizza pizza's always a good thing to try new stuff on!
This brings back so many memories! I grew up in New Haven. I went to Peppi's for the meal after high school graduation for our family dinner. When I go home I always try to get to Peppi's or Sally's for a pie or 2, but seriously any local pizza joint is so good and a must have. I live near Seattle now and there just isn't any good Pizza places around here.
I live in the Southeast but I'm from CT. The pizza sucks so bad down here. I laugh when people call chain store pies, pizza. Papa John's, Domino's and Pizza Hut is not pizza. Nothing beats our home made Greek and Italian pizza. From the toppings, to the sauce to cheese ratio to the crust it can't be beat. It makes your soul sing after you eat it. 😂
SO funny, I have been eating clam and garlic pizza since late 1970. I finish college and my first job was in San Francisco. At that time there were a few joints making the clam and garlic pizza some on the menu and some off menu. Then a food critique wrote it up in the late great newspaper the San Francisco Chronicle. The lines went out the door after that article. Luckily a fad in San Fransisco come and go with the next review, which means we no longer have a long line to wait in for our clam and garlic pizza. Try pesto and clam pizza, weird yes, tasty yes.
If your from New England you know clams belong on pizza, anywhere else you probably haven’t had good sea food if you think clams don’t belong on pizza heehee
In Japan clam pizza is one of the most common pizzas. It is commonly known as "seafood pizza" and often has small shrimps and squid on it and is flavored with peperonchino. I was really surprised to know it is not common in the us. I wonder other areas like Europe have one also because there are places that has a lot of seafood dishes like New England and Japan.
Ugh these comments are driving me nuts. Clearly the majority of you aren't from New England. Frank Pepe's has been ranked as the greatest/ #1 pizza restaurant in the country multiple times by multiple sources. Look it up. If not #1, atleast top 5, top 10. Calling the white clam pie THE best pizza. Don't knock it until you try it. I'm full Italian too. The restaurant has also been open since the 1920's, and was opened by an Italian immigrant. Everyone is so negative on the internet.
Why not right ? I’d eat it.. Even bobas are hella good on pizzas (chewy + slightly sweet + a little saltiness from the cheese = deliciousness).. The only thing I don’t like on pizzas would be anchovies.. Pineapples are great ~
1.2M / 13 years / 365 days per year = about 250 pizzas a day -- with no days off. If you work 5 days a week you'd have to throw 355 pies per day, or a pizza every 2 minutes over 12 hours with no breaks.
You’re being to literal. Maybe the figured out in those 13 years that’s how many he had made over his career, not just as “the main pizza guy”. Also, places like this use to be crazy busy, less variety, super popular, why they’ve been around so long.
I thought Herrine was going to screw this whole thing up and provide a lame review.... and the first five minutes didn't exactly impress me... but than she hit's it out of the park at 5:25. Sings!
If the clam wants to be on the pizza, it can be on the pizza! Let the clam do what it wants!
the guy that said "every topping deserves a right on a pizza" deserves an award👏👏
I will try to anything once, I thought a spinach alfredo pizza would be disgusting and it was amazing. So you never know.
It actually sounds really yummy

From Southern New England (CT). Clams definitely belong on pizza! Pepe's is an American original and a classic!

Looks really good! People need to be more open minded about pizza toppings
Exactly. For example, people should try pineapple on their pizzas!

Lmao clams on pizza are way tastier than those typical, boring pepperoni toppings. Many Americans just doesn't know how to be adventurous.
A clam that identifies as a pepperoni, what a world.
God it’s amazing. You need a soda to cut it being it’s super salty, still worth it.
Would beer work okay too? Just asking that's all!
