Let’s stay a red dot n Not pink dot. May God blessed Singapore as Abba Father has established Singapore when we were booted out in surprise. Wisdom n knowledge comes from God on our first generation, lead by his grace n mercy, this nation did not perished n survived. A nation makes the Lord their God is blessed. Not by human strength but by divine power who see us thru troubled times. Let this nation stay united n with one mind, we can play a part, we the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people……..Cannot trust mortals for none is perfect, but surely can depend on Jesus, a faithful n unchanging God just as of the old who determines which king is here n gone tomorrow. Singapore's main competitive advantage was and is our people. Our forefathers were fighters, and they persevered extreme odds to give us what we have today. The newer generation must hold the same grit to fight for our nation in unity but in diversity. A harmonious society is one that embraces one another in our differences, but in balance without diluting our advantage as an united nation with diverse cultures. Unity is our cornerstone, and everything we do must strengthen this pillar of strength. Political differences are sorted to forge better unity in the interest of greater good. We must submit ourselves to truth, and only truth can undergird unity. Unity cannot hold on its own, but only when in truth can it withstand the onslaught of deceit and falsehood. Everything must be subservient to truth, and we will emerge a stronger nation. The truthful path over millennium has always been proven as the most prosperous path in human history.

Why is saying “so help me God” when taking his oath showing originality? I think it’s simply because he is a Christian. SM LKY & ex-PM LHL were both Freethinkers/ Agnostic or Atgeist. EM Goh CT was Buddhist, no God in Buddhism. I would find it troubling if any minister started to bring their personal religious beliefs into the PM or Presidential offices. There is respect for all religions and having no religion in Singapore. Many of Singapore’s ministers of parliament are already of a Protestant Christian and Catholic Christian background, despite Singapore’s Christian population being 20%. It is disproportionate to Singapore’s total population; with Buddhists 33.3% and irreligious/NONES (no religious affiliation) accounting for 20%. I hope all of our elected officials (opposition or ruling party), keep Singapore secular.
Please stop allowing foreigners with Permanent Residency to buy our public housing resale flats. Does everyone think that our hdb resale flats are truly affordable? I know of a couple who can’t afford to get married yet because they can’t afford to buy a resale while waiting for about 5 years to get their new hdb flat. They will probably be close to mid-30s by the time they get their new flat. It’s anyone’s guess whether they would want many children at that age.
The success of Singapore was not coming easily, every generation of government faces the difference challenges to protect the people and country from disaster. In this uncertainty of world, people must unit as one identity work together with the government to strike for another chapter of success story of Singapore.

I hope Sg Gen XYZ and will be wise to vote for him for their own good future. Its ok if not all are in sync with the same principles and Govt agendas but a good understanding is more important to accept to agree to disagree as this is the core value of togetherness. Even in every family, we cannot fully agree with each other much the same as our country.

Not sure if Singapore has been rated the most educated population (10:45 minutes) in the world . Not sure if we are even in the top 10 most educated country in the world. Even if our statistics which shows residents ( so assuming it includes foreign students in our Universities ) we still cannot be ranked within the top 10 in the world. Whoever drafted the speech need to do a fact check or the new PM will loose credibility. The most important feature of our leaders is their ability to address the details to ensure an accurate , efficient and reliable government. Not a good start for the new PM to be quoting inaccuracies. We are a small country and cannot afford to gloss over details because small mistakes can result in wrong policies and strategies giving disastrous unintended results
