Truth. It is toxic and abusive and in my opinion this contributes to the trauma bond.

My mom used that tactic on the entire family for decades. I was always happy when she did it to me, as she would finally stfu

Now the tables have turned and I am giving my ex-narcissist wife a permanent silent treatment in the form of no contact.

Yes it truly is a mind F- being treated like that. But i do like your reframe that it is a vacation from their toxicity even for a short time.

dear narcissist, no contact or silent treatment has zero affect on someone who doesn’t give a sh!t about the person that’s going no contact/giving the silent treatment lol.

Mine stonewalled me for a week before she kicked me out from our apartment. I asked her 2 days into the silent treatment if she wanted a hug, she said she is not ready. She had no problem laughing with her daughter though. A conmpletey horrible experience.

Silent treatment was a peaceful break from the manipulations and a great time to focus on my goals. Eventually, he would come and say could we make because he couldn't stand it any more.

Sadly, the silent treatment extends to not giving you any information about the kids, school, family or anything else they know about, and they use this withholding of information to try and drive a wedge between you and your kids and anyone else they can gaslight. 😢😢😢

Silent treatment was the easiest narc game to deal with. Eventually, he came and begged to make up. I would be busy with my interest and hadn't missed him.

I got to the point where I would just say "yippee, the silent treatment! Can you please make it last 2 months this time? It's like a vacation"
