Maybe the best thing David Massengill ever wrote...and one of the best things the Roches ever recorded. This performance shows off their unique talents and vocal blend. Great stuff!
Simply magnificent... This is an excellent example of how these amazing women could sound better in their live shows than on their studio recordings. Not that their recordings were ever sub-par... far from it, but they were able to make such an irrefutable connection with the listener when singing live. Few acts have ever been able to accomplish this in the same manner. Brava ladies! You are each, and collectively, superb. I love you, and I miss you!!
Ooh, Maggie puts on a harmony at "We'd flee to some far island..." that I haven't heard on the studio recording! Man, she had a great voice. I was so sad to hear of her passing, only a couple of weeks after my dad failed to wake up one day. I grew up on their music. Now, I fantasize about some day being cool enough to sing with Lucy. :)

This is the first time I have ever heard this song by the Roches. I've been a fan of folk music since 1950's and for some reason never heard them. I was completely captivated. I had to go to Itunes and buy it immediately. They had a harmony that is Unique It was haunting, melodic and beautiful. I am so sorry to hear of the death of one of them.
