This is such a wonderful record of the true talent of these sisters. I strongly prefer the performance of Hammond Song from this show to the original. A mark of truly great musicianship is to play live better than in the studio, and the Roche sisters always seem to do it. When I was 4, my favorite song was My Sick Mind, and I called it "Mysick". The Roches are a part of me forever. RIP Maggie, the soul of the band. I hope to spread the message of how wonderful all of the Roches were and are someday

I too think Hammond Song is better here, especially as I don't have to sit through Fripp's noodling (on the record) waiting for the real stars to sing again.

I love both versions but I will admit to thinking they were mic’d a little too close on the record version, resulting in a bit of distortion to their otherwise perfect harmony

In my opinion, what is so astounding about their music, is they rarely wrote about Deep, Serious, Meaningful Things. They wrote about Everyday things, like the Commuter Train, needing a crap job back again and feeling like a Gigantic Elizabeth. They meet you where you are then Stab you in the Heart. Check out the song, "The Death of Suzzy Roche." It takes place in a Freakin' Laundromat. Love.

I love these gals. So miss Maggie, gone way too soon. After I found them, nothing could keep me away. My first concert I brought the a bouquet of chocolate roses and handed it to them as they were just coming onto stage. It was awesome because Maggie’s face lite up and it was awesome. I was able to see them backstage and Terre explained that Maggie had said people always give them flowers but why couldn’t they for once get chocolates so this was why it was so happily accepted. After that, every time they came to town, I would have chocolates specially made for them, my favorite group. One year I made a huge tray and I mean huge tray of cookies. I made an assortment and peanut butter blossoms are my favorite with the Hershey kiss in the middle. Well, I also bought one of those giant kisses that was like a pound just by itself and so of course that was atop a giant blossom cookie right in the middle of the tray for my girls. Man I miss them. This was awesome. Thank you for making this available.

There is no group like them. Aside from their extraordinary harmonies their material is so unique, drawn from their own compositions and their influences, such as a cover of "Naughty Lady form Shady Lane" and Crazy Larry songs, like Jesus Shaves and No Shoes. Maggie's song Long Before is as fine a song as any I've heard. Like others on these comments I mourn her.

I remember being absolutely blown away when I saw them perform on Saturday Night Live in 1979. Bought their first album (as a trio) the next day, continues to be one of my all time favorites. Their music is offbeat and playful, their harmonies are exquisite. Stunning that they can replicate those harmonies when performing live without studio enhancement. They were a gift that more people should have been aware of. So sorry that Maggie left this earth way too soon...

I heard Hammond on WHFS Bethesda MD & went to the Wax Museum DC that week I think (The Another World Tour '84). Hallelujah, Commuter & Angry MAN- I was in the back row, my recorder was snagged (but not the same model as seated on my left side!), but I could see every head between us and the stage as I was flushed w/goosebumps & glanced at my pal taping. If not for the placement of the mic in his collar (reaching), he would have been turning his eyes to look, SILENTLY, at the person on the left side as well as the right side, conveying to each other - known OR NOT (NO WAY EVERYBODY ARRIVED WITH 2 PEOPLE & ALL KNEW EACH OTHER). THAT ENTIRE BUILDING'S AUDIENCE WAS IN TELEPATHIC COMMUNICATION 'DO YOU FEEL THIS‽ DO YOU, TOO?'
I was blessed to catch up with them in 'SoBe, Miami about 12 yrs later & held up the door as they were being introduced to tell them 'I saw you at the.... You guys did structural damage to that place!" I was complimenting the sustained harmonics- 3 (3!) voices harmonizing- made the WAX MUSEUM shake! Not even greater decibels have done that before & I forget which Roche (Suzy✓) said 'I remember that place!' (& I just heard the anecdote re Reagan) that would explain why my deck ever got confiscated at the door (1st+last×)!
That show was releasable (LP,CD/VHS,DVD) it was so good & being able to talk to their Mom- handling the merch table - & I believe their brother (David?) opened in Miami.
What a tight family. Suzy was having fun 'exploring' her femininity on stage (Married Men?) at the first time I saw them; that's comfort on stage! I guess it's good for a breathing exercise.... So sweet

Seeing the pride- in a good way - their Mom had working behind the merch table & talking with her was almost as nice as acting like I worked there (Stephan Talkhouse, Miami '94±) & holding up the door to let them on the stage until after I'd told them how great they were at the Wax Museum DC '84 {'nuther World lp's Tour). I don't know if 'structural damage' re the building actually shaking & people silently looking at each other from side to side conveying the goosebumps & 'Do You FEEL this, too?’ silently was taken in the way intended....
That was the best show, possibly Tour, body of work. It's a shame my tape deck was held at the door (but the guy sitting next to me had the exact same rig- mic & all!); but I got it back after. What a talented family & Suzy- YumYum- 'the |||' was a fool to lose THAT Cool.
