Hi love the turorial well explained , only problem im having is when I don the trunk join and press y to do the branches it doesnt auto connect to the main truck
i would select the skeleton, press y (or the create joints tool) then ctrl+z and you should still be able to use the create joint tool while the skeleton is selected
Feeling a tad bit goofy here but.. @ around 3:55 how are you able to soft select the horizontal length without grabbing the lower branch? When I expand my radius to grab the length of the branch, I'm also grabbing the lower vertices.
Hey, if you double-click the move tool on the left, under the Soft Selection menu, there's an option called "Falloff mode." Make sure that's turned on to Surface, not Volume.
These videos are good but they're a bit too fast, I have to rewatch segments over and over and over to understand what keys you actually pressed to do the things you're talking about
Thanks for sharing Alex, great tips! Instead of selecting the end joints and hitting 'F' in the outliner, you can hold shift and click the plus icon in the outline to expand the whole hierarchy.
@@AlexCheparev I hope you're right! I've been using Maya on and off for about a year now and I'm still afraid of misclicking, cuz sometimes I just don't know what happened or how to fix it :'D
Already knew how to model a tree. Watched the whole thing anyway for the relaxing music and explanation :) Aren't you supposed to do UV unwrapping before you duplicate stuff? Now you have to cut way more UVs.
Do you have a tutorial a adding leaves to the tree branches

Love this thanks!
thank you so much Alex!! :))
I'm curious how long did it take you to learn how to model stuff in Maya? Because if I were to be honest, this software is plain intimidating
I've been using Maya since 2000. It is in the beginning, but once you get over the learning curve, it's pretty easy.

@@AlexCheparev Anyways thanks for the great tutorial! I will give you credits in my final Bc project
@@katvalachova3577 Just be deliberate in clicking. It's not like other applications, every button does something.
@@AlexCheparev Hahaha why does this sound so funny?! You are right, of course!
Super helpfull ! Little bit fast sometimes, but helped me a lot, thanks !
