Faded fabrics that feel they have been left out in the sun and tarnished gold buttons. Hems, lapels and sleeves are unfinished and frayed. The internal structure of suiting is removed to give lightness. The sleeves of a frock coat have been ripped away with seams and shoulder padding left exposed. The silk lining of the suit jacket is introduced as a button-down robe or cardigan, layered over collarless bib shirts and exposed from the sleeves and hem of suit jackets. Worn with pleated loose, long shorts or trousers cropped above the ankle.
The iconic McQueen skull motif is reworked into a cotton lace. The lace is adapted as a print. Distressed floral jacquards. Cotton ticking with embroidered black roses or screen-printed by hand to create a mottled photocopy effect. Washed silk, cashmere and cotton. Engineered brocade jacquard.
Scenery/location is AMAZINGLY PERFECT

Lovely show as always. Alexander McQueen fashion week events are typically spectacular. Why would spring/summer 2014 be any different...

I agree with @clubmrx this show, as well as the clothes, are missing a theatrical aspect
I respect designers for what they do. It is not easy predicting what will be in or appealing to all, but this collection was bad. I am a fashion graduate with focus in Pattern Drafting and these clothes are not simple to construct. I know of the hard work that goes into these clothes, but design wise, I see high fashion, I just don't feel or believe it.

There was not really a highlight at the show. But I still like the clothes and assume them as very fashionable! But still.. something is missing.
On a side note- The hobbit is trying to cast elf extras in NZ. You should send your models in to apply.
Does anyone know anything about the music selection for this show? Artist etc?
