It is sometimes forgotten that the uniform is a testament to equality. At work and at war, the dress uniform has long stood as a symbol that all men are equal in the face of duty - sharing equal honour, valour, and truth - and this season the house of McQueen uses that tradition to take apart the class separations associated with the British heritage silhouette.
The military jacket can become a frock coat, the donkey jacket a tailored luxury, the tabard part of a three piece-suit in floral jacquard, and garments can carry suggestions of flags and medals. City pinstripe is adorned with the word ‘Honour’, coats in workwear blue instantly appear as arguments for Regency elegance, a heavy army knit is emblazoned with that most English of blooms, the poppy.
The collection re-animates the relationship between gracious dressing and male virtue. And it understands how that virtue is at the same time universal and classless, classic and subversive. In a time when the idea of the uniform is sometimes questioned around the world, McQueen’s menswear collection makes an argument for its revival as a vehicle of both unity and individuality.

Uniform obviously equalises those who wear it but Tailoring is hardly a democratic way of dressing, especially not Alexander McQueen tailoring

I'm surprised by the bone tie It looks amazing as well as the entire collection; It looks so different from when Sarah started to take control of Lee´s house . I know so many people hate Sarah Burton for what she has done with the brand for example stigmatizing the skull as in icon for McQueen, I think is the best strategy and choice she had ever made; maybe the only one?

Very disappointing! Reality check, Sarah Burton all of this has already been made in the past by other designers this are just basic Blazers with patches on them, ugly patches at that. Never in the history of Alexander McQueen's collections has he ever use bold graphic text on any of his garments. Because he was talented enough to get his message through without using words. Alexander McQueen would send models half naked down the runway and it would work. Every time and I do mean every time he would get a standing ovation! Look at the audience there so bored they did not even look back at the clothes as they pass by. This truly was a boring disappointment...

How sad the beaten up look of models is more and more taking over mens fashion too.
