I loved this video about plant tissue culture. I wanted to become an agricultural geneticist, but had to get to work fast post B.S. Spent 30 years in medical laboratory science. Reference lab was interesting, hospitals full of human drama. Funny the things you revisit when you get older.
Wow that was a real flash back in time. I remember taking a horticultural course in the mid-80's on all of this. Some of that footage is 30 years old (a Mac SE in that office) and he is talking about future advances that are quite historical now.
Thanks for sharing. Even with tissue culture and dividing several times and quicker, the price of orchids remains expensive. Want to use it for my orchids & my hobby. Some more tips will be helpful. Thanks, Daniel from France

I keep hearing any part of the plant can be tissue cultured, but have yet to see any video showing that. There are certain plants/vegatables that are sold only by parts of their stems, and I want to see if it is possible to culture those.
Am also doing tissue culture of cassava and sugarcane..... Despite of doing good sterilization contamination is still distabing........ Is there anything I can add or improve in media
You should use more often in all your lab areas a mask to cover your mouth, you should also cover your hair, cover your feet with sterilized fabric boots, I sound idealistic, but virus are all over the air, you can see it with the Corona virus. i went to buy some houseplants the seller told me the plants he sells are grown as tissue culture and they will produce more new plants fast in future is this true? the plants are ALOCASIA, Prayer plant and Stromanthe Tricolor Plant

It is possible in theory but the failure rate will be so high that it is not viable in any way nor is it replicable.
Will they produce fruit for 40 50 years like mother plant
