This is, hands down, the BEST propagation video I've seen on YT yet. Real information, not some goober in love with the sound of his own voice but proper learning.
I generally do not write reviews or comments. But could not NOT say this is amazing...It will be my go-to video. Highly recommended video. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for this lesson.
Was listening to RUclips while getting ready to go to store had it on auto ...this came on next and I was thinking this was the BEST MOST INFORMATIVE GUIDE I had ever heard.... had to watch. Love it...tks
i am literally shocked at what i have come to expect from extension service powerpoint presentations and plant youtubers compared to this dated detailed video edited content. you are so right.
I looked for this video for a week straight. I got so desperate that I asked AI to help me find it. I found it in 5 minutes. This Ai stuff is scary. Great but scary. lol. This video is just pure knowledge from beginning to end. No fluff like nearly every youtube video.
I have had such bad luck trying to propagate my fruit trees and I have tried every method. Good thing I'm stubborn LOL. Love the video. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada.
What does professional mean ? It's just a way to conform to norms and standards for control purpose through ideological rules. It's packaging of knowledge. It's just like classic ; what's this ? Nothing but a thin air word meaning nothing in reality.
It looks like they dumped a pile of perlite into the wheelbarrow, then a pile of peat moss on top - it does look like a lot of peat at first glance, though, yes!
I really like these "old-fashioned" videos. They're back to the basics and fundementals. Some of the terms sound so classical, but notice, there isn't one mention of the word "clone", in the narration. Thanks for this, still-very-rellevent, video.
This video 100% used the word "cloning." It's in the beginning when explaining the difference between growing with seeds (sexual reproduction) and propagating (asexual reproduction). Clone is not a new word.
Anyone found any more of these ? (btw, hear me out, this is what I categorize as PBG-perfect beginner guide(professional, informative),as it seems to have everything explained, from the general idea, to what each term means, how is something done the right way, everything explained to you like you just been born, almost no questions left un answered, professional. For example "Pace World - basic soldering lesson" series of videos, is exactly the same but for skill called "soldering", funny enough, it is also older video, made before 2000s and is still relevant. Hopefully as I go trough life I will find more of these videos for other skills in life.

Dang, I'll go broke buying Perlite at that rate! Before even watching this video, I added more perlite to my mix and it helped noticeably. I now use 1/3 perlite and 2/3 peat moss for planting my fig air layers as well as rooting the air layers. With less perlite, my rooted figs grow slowly and are very susceptible to over watering and the leaves are more yellow. Simply transplanting figs that are not doing well into the growing media with atleast 1/3 perlite makes them start progressing as they should and the leaves soon turn nice and green. For me, 2 parts perlite to one part peat moss would dry out more often than I have time to water them.
20:20 ... General rule: each cutting should have two sets of nodes above, and two sets of nodes above the rooting medium (2 parts perlite; 1 part peat moss), with the leaves still attached.
This guidelines help increase the chance for propagating cuttings. However, don't think you have to do all the work. Sometimes you stick a branch somewhere and it grows. So, it's worth trying. I did it with roses and tomatoes mostly because it's easy. Tomatoes get roots in about a week. Roses may take a long time. I just find a spot where the soil remains moist for longer time and stick the cuttings there. All the work I do is just take the cuttings.
This is, hands down, the BEST propagation video I've seen on YT yet. Real information, not some goober in love with the sound of his own voice but proper learning.
agree
Or worshipping the image of their own face. This sounds luciferian, by promoting one's self ego.
My left ear absolutely loved this video
Thank you! An updated stereo version would be great.
😂😂I thought my earbuds were messing up til I went to figure out how to reset them, and it played in both ears!

Extremely informative & detailed video!
Thank you for putting such a huge amount of information into ONE clear and concise video.
WELL DONE!!!
Man I love youtube. This video series probably cost 20 bucks per VHS tape, back in the day.
ohh yeah life is good if you know how to use the tools given to you
Yaaaaas 🤣😂🤸🏽♀️👍
@@brandondumont7223 So true!
Actually $29.99
And with inflation, in today's time, that VHS tape would cost $63.17...
Yikes, lol.
The most informative guide I've ever heard of. This is gold! Thank you so much!
Best video I've watched by far about propogation
I am a Vegetable Farmer since decades but i realy learned a lot from this Video! Awesome, thanks :)
Best Cutting video I've seen yet, THANKS
This tutorial is thorough and inspirational. The ability to propagate plants is exciting!
I agree. It's a great hobby. Everywhere I go I see what's growing and what can be reproduced.
Extremely instructive and not condescending. Right to the last advice urging one to try out variouse methods of propagation. Thank you so much!
Samaila Mohammed not condescending? Why does this feel like a race-baiting passive aggressive jab
Superb instruction! I felt like I was watching and listening to a university professor teaching a high-level course 👍❤
This would not be a high-level University course, this would be a 100 series course.
The best and most informative video i ever had watched
Thank you so much for sharing
This is really great info! One of the more complete introductions to propagation with cuttings.
Glad RUclips put this on my page today. Learning so much
Iv worked in this industry for years and this was still a great watch
This is obviously dated, but probably the most informative cuttings video I've seen on here.

Not if you want to take notes, which is something I like to do so I don't have to watch the same video again.
I have had such bad luck trying to propagate my fruit trees and I have tried every method. Good thing I'm stubborn LOL. Love the video. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada.
Highly Appreciated. Content is full of conceptual techniques.

This video was excellently made.
This video was a good experience for me. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Around 19:48: The rooting medium you see in this video is said to be "Two parts Perlite and one part Peat Moss".
Yes. What do you mean?
It looks like they dumped a pile of perlite into the wheelbarrow, then a pile of peat moss on top - it does look like a lot of peat at first glance, though, yes!
Thank you so much for the great information!
Very comprehensive information on cutting propagation.
It was amazing. I'm going to add this video to my recents. So clear and understanding explanations on it. Thank you for shring that.
Priceless information

Great video ...👌 very informative 👍🌸🌿🌸🌿🤗
Thanks for these videos.
Whenever I see a video that looks like it was made in the 70's, 80's or 90's I know it's going to be gud.
Amazing! Thank you for your education purposes
Thanks. That was really informative. Just started an interest in gardening.

mrCHADcarreon yeah you have to go old to get good clean data these days in my experience.
This video 100% used the word "cloning." It's in the beginning when explaining the difference between growing with seeds (sexual reproduction) and propagating (asexual reproduction). Clone is not a new word.
Thank you so much for this. I learned so much! Definitely saving!
I learned a lot today

A coarse sharp sand can be just as good but much cheaper if you're ok with a bit more weight (obviously not for air layering)
Throughly enjoyed
Really good information for getting started.
Thank you for the complete information and tips.Godbless
