Finally! The diamond in the rough. Spent hours this morning researching LVT. This was the most informative & easy to understand post. At least I know what to actually look for. Now I just have to find a quality retailer in my area. Thank you!!
Hi Douglas! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed our video. Thank you so much for watching. We hope it was educational. Please let us know if there are any other videos you'd like to see in the future! Have a great day!
Thanks for a great video, i wish i saw rhis when working. Another type is a hybrid wpc/spc core. Wpc on bottom so it confirms to the floor and spc on top for regidity. The shaw stuff i have is rated for 1000 psi compression strength, so can take about 700-800 lbs before indenting (the psi rating is usually rated for 10% deflection of material, so usually 70-80% of this will not cause it). Wpc also has a slighty higher R value and its softness will cause less foot fatigue. Of course its a tradeoff and why commercial is almost always SPC.
Nice explanations. You forgot to mention installing bull nose molding vs. taking out the molding and re-installing it. Also you did not mentions the strength and quality of the attaching mechanisms. A lot of mfg provide weak joints that can be snapped off easily.
Wow!!! You did an awesome job!! This was what we were trying to find out from the retailer and internet! If you were in NJ, I’d buy right away from you! Thank you! You are an excellent teacher!
Hello! Thank you so much! We are glad to hear you enjoyed and learned some new information from our video. Let us know if there are other videos you'd like to see from us!
What is the manufacturer and product name of the stone polymer floor that you were demonstrating the 2000 psi rating on? That is the exact flooring, pattern and color I'm looking for
Scratches really easy ! Not for dogs . Picked up a Little Rock under my vacuum and scratched the crap out of it . Can’t use any cleaner has to be theirs because of Ph .
Hello! We are sorry to hear about the scratches on your floor. If you have a thinner wear layer (6 or 8) then scratches and scuffs are more likely to happen. If you have pets, children, or large families, we recommend getting LVP with a thicker wear layer (12 or 20).
Bought a house that had brand new LVP back door had a leak and buckled everything. Maybe it’s waterproof to a point but water destroyed my floor quick…
Hello! Yes, a 12 mil. layer should hold up nicely for a family! Be sure to avoid dragging heavy furniture or anything else with sharp edges across your floor to avoid scratches.
Ummm… balancing layer anyone? Umm stone polymer - calcium carbonate aka - chalk - not good with water - ummm wood polymer - aka plastic and “wood” not good with water - Product put in water is a nice trick but zero ambient conditions or alkalinity issues introduced You mentioned quarter inch gap Lol why? Exactly expansion and contraction - why is that ? Exactly Flood your house and see how that product reacts. You’re actually part of the misinformation problem on these products. Customers believe you. As an installer and moisture testing professional, I can tell you these products are a nightmare. I haven’t even got into the Sun coming in through your French doors and heating these products well over 100 degrees. By the way- zero warranty from the Sun Purchase at your own risk and buy a product with a balancing layer at a minimum
These expand with temp, not moisture (just like PVC siding). The wood and stone has been polymerized, so they don't interact with water. Only drawback is cutting them with a saw will produce micro plastic particles and why you should try the score and break or chopping method and def be able to recover the plastic dust.
My god finally a video that’s quick and packed with easily digestible information. Thank you SO much!
You're welcome! We are so glad you enjoyed it! Please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you.

We’ve had LVP for 11 years and it’s held up great. Most people haven’t been able to tell that it’s not wood.
Best combination of a wealth of information and to the point without making it a 30 minute or longer video like a lot of people do.
the best explanations and visuals I have reviewed. thank you for taking the time to put the video together.
The best information presented, that I have seen in years! Thank you.

How does LVP perform with in- floor radiant heat?
What is the manufacturer and product name of the stone polymer floor that you were demonstrating the 2000 psi rating on? That is the exact flooring, pattern and color I'm looking for
Can liquid seep under the LVP if not discovered quickly?
Thanks for the great video. Does it do well with in floor heating? Should I go with the 20 as my apartment will be rented out on Airbnb?
Thank you 😊 what a load of fantastic info 👏 👍
I have old vinyl square tiles (glued on) in my kitchen. I can put LVP over top of the old tiles?
Why not?
Best explanation A++++++
Which LVP is good to for a sunroom that has no climate control?
Very informative!
Thanks for watching!
Why does Mohawk still require vapor barrier for there lvp
Exactly
Adhesive and the foam pad are probably not fully waterproof.
Even if so, Evaporation and condensation cycles in the voids can grow stuff
Thanks so much. 👍💝

How do you repair or retouch a chipped wear layer?
Hello! LVP is easy to remove and reinstall. You'll have to cut out the damaged piece and replace it with a new piece.

Good job.

This kind of water leak kills any kind of floor. Even tile floor gets loose. Been there done that.
Is Luxury vinyl plank TOXIC?
No. Only bumans.
What is the best brand you would suggest Vinyl
Amtico. They are widely used in dental offices due to superior durability compared to life proof and other brands of LVP
?LVT is made from polyvinyl chloride, or PVC. PVC is hazardous to both the environment and human health.
They don’t care. Money is the king
I ordered the Mowhawk LVT Grandwood planks which are 12mils wear layer will that hold up for a family??
Hello! Yes, a 12 mil. layer should hold up nicely for a family! Be sure to avoid dragging heavy furniture or anything else with sharp edges across your floor to avoid scratches.
Don’t do it ! Especially if your picking a dark color it will so defects over time
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it

The truth is, vinyl plank, luxury or not, is garbage.
Question: What is luxury vinyl plank? Answer: Hideous!!! Especially the grey color.
