I love the sign in the beginning that is paying homage to Cher. Cher’s mom told her to settle down and marry a rich man. Cher said, “Mom, I am a rich man.” 😂👏🏼🙌🏼 I love it
@@rebornfurnituredesigns2492 This video in particular has a lot of Easter eggs for other songs on the album. There’s the Cher quote nodding to The Man; Hayley Kiyoko shoots an arrow into a bullseye with 5 in the middle, which is a way of saying the 5th song on the album is The Archer; and Adam Lambert is tattooing Ellen with the name of this summer’s single from the album, Cruel Summer. There are probably even more nods to songs that I’ve missed, too!
I can’t stand how everybody’s hating on her for going to support her boyfriend watching his games. She’s just his girlfriend watching him play a game. She doesn’t have any control over how many times they show her it’s just ridiculous. They always find something to complain about with her.

5:57 "flag that represents that spectrum" - Bars lol Taylor Swift is the undisputed pop GOAT of this generation. If her music ain't for you, that's cool, but you've got to put respect on her name. I second this! i found your channel b/c of your Taylor reactions, but love your other content as well. Any Taylor song would make for a great video. I'm going to mention Karma b/c you mentioned karma in this video. 🙂
It feels like one of the motivations of including the scene reflecting a resolution of the Katy Perry/Taylor Swift “feud” in this song is to subtly acknowledge that she herself once took part in a little bit of social media warring and negativity where both of them probably needed to “calm down” and showing that growth and maturity can happen and people can choose to change and choose to reconcile and resolve issues and be respectful. I feel like this also takes this video out of just being just a video that is meant to be taking a shot back at people she disagrees with to perhaps being an attempt to model reconciliation and respect even where there is disagreement. I may be reading more into that but she could have chosen lots of situations to highlight a resolution with KP and she chose this video in the context of the message of this song.

I just noticed that the tattoo is a snake morphing into butterflies (this first happened in the Me! video - also from this album). Reputation album/era morphing into the Lover album/era "cuz shade never made anybody less gay" has a double-meaning, too. There's the obvious "throw shade" but also staying in the dark (closeted) doesn't make you less gay. I love how they're all calmly sunbathing while the protesters are freaking out in the shade. I always equated the scene of Burgers and French Fries as (BFF = Best Friends Forever/they made up) but I like the beef/salty analogy. (I blame my vegetarianism for never thinking of this.) You're a really good guide through Taylor Swift videos/lyrics because she has so many double-meaning phrases that can be hard to catch.
I love the "Mom, I am a rich man." in the beginning. Cher has a story about her mother telling her she needed to find a rich man to marry, and her response was "Mom, I am a rich man."
7:02 This tattoo is a reference to another love song, as well as the bow arrow that hits the target at number 5, because the fifth song on the album is called the archer... we need a reaction with these songs
you mentioned karma, I think that should be the next song right after "the man"! I think you'll get a kick out of it. Thank you as always for your great analysis!
Dude. Hardcore Swifty for many years here. I just have to say listening to your reaction and breakdown was awesome. You made me see things I didn’t see before. Keep it up man!
The reactions of music you do is beyond phenomenal. It is very clear you know music, composition, and can easily find the meaning behind the wordplay. Even when it is not so subtle. Now I am kind of wanting a Rhythm Nation reaction......you are too good at this.
The “step on his gown” lyric was with a cameo from Tony Award winning actor Billy Porter-who most people know him as “that guy who wore a dress on a red carpet” and made people inexplicably mad. He actually had worn a pink cape to the 2019 Golden Globes and because of the reaction to that, he reached out to Christian Siriano to make him a gown to wear to the 91st Academy Awards to challenge ideas of masculinity. So putting his cameo with the lyric, “Like can you just not, step on his gown, you need to calm down…” was the obvious choice. ❤
you know, no one had a problem back in the 70s with the character Kllinger on MASH. He was always in women's clothes. Back then it was so he could say he was crazy but, it still was something accepted by the camp and not hated on. It became a fun thing and people missed the dresses when Klinger stopped doing that in order to be company clerk in later seasons. So I don't see any difference in this character dressing in dresses and Billy in dresses to also make a statement and be himself.
You are a breath of fresh air, especially in a world where stereotypes often overshadow the complexity of people. It's easy to fall into the trap of assumptions, particularly when it comes to someone in the rap industry. You not only defy these stereotypes but also stand out as a beacon of awareness and understanding. I appreciate that you don't shy away from acknowledging real societal issues, specifically those affecting the LGBT community. It's a testament to your commitment to using your platform for positive change. Witnessing you radiate genuine enjoyment while engaging with a meaningful music video is a reminder that individuals can break free from limiting labels and contribute positively to social discourse. I'm grateful to know someone like you who challenges assumptions and fosters a more inclusive and enlightened conversation within his sphere of influence. Thank you! I'm a silent fan.
Love that you got so excited to see Hannah! 😂 Jessie Ferguson is there with his husband, Justin Mikita, being re-married by Ciara. The cameo list of this song is a mile long and brilliant, top to bottom. For example, when she says “can you not step on his gown” Billy Porter is walking down the protest line, and he frequently wears AMAZING dresses to awards shows. Pretty much every shot is like that - she did a great job co-directing this video.
I love how you breakdown the songs and videos. Some people just focus on the songs, some people will just say that the song is good, like they just do it for views. I feel like you are definitely one of the better react channels. The line "shade never made anybody less gay," is one of my all time favorite lines of any song. I also like the one in the last verse saying, " we figured it out we all got crowns,"
Another smart and insightful analysis! You always catch on all the metaphors of the lyrics and symbolism of these videos normal reactors miss so kudos to you! Even the GLAAD reference!
Ryan Reynolds is painting at the end. He is painting the Stonewall Inn. This video was made at the time of the 50th anniversary of the police riots there. Jessie Tyler Ferguson asked Taylor to preform at one of the parties for the Stonewall anniversary. Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively are some of Taylor's best friends. The trilogy about James, Inez and Betty are the names of their 3 girls. They have had another child since then. James is also at the beginning of Taylor's song Gorgeous. Taylor was playing the Lover album for Ryan and Blake before it came out and little James repeated repeated the word from that song. Taylor asked if she could record it for the song. I believe she has a songwriting credit for the Gorgeous song. She was a toddler. 😂
@@KnoxHill I think you have great potential in anything you do, you have that built in grind and grit, keep going your worth all that's coming for you 🙏
My 70 year old mother and me in my 40s are the biggest swifties on the planet so if you say you are not her age group I am guessing you must not have listened to her albums at all.☺But music taste is a personal thing of course.
It probably isn't a generational gap. I am her target audience. Haha. At least in age and gender). She just doesn't resonate with me at all. I don't like the sound of the music and while some of her lyrics are clever, they just don't reach me. The struggles I have gone through are just a lot different. I really don't like much pop music at all either. (And yes, I have heard a decent collection of her different albums. I just don't like it). Nothing wrong with liking her or not. I just wanted to say that it doesn't have to be a generational thing. It is okay to say you just don't like her music. I don't know why people seem to think either you shouldn't say that, feel like saying you don't like her music means you also have to disparage her as a person or call her talentless, or why her fans always insist if you don't like her stuff you haven't heard enough of it. Sometimes we just don't like stuff. It is okay.
I love people who actually give a reason that they are not a Taylor fan like this instead of saying, I hate her or can’t stand her! This comment is much appreciated from a True Swiftie!!!
So glad to come across this video. I loved you analysis and your energy I'm happy to see a kind, supportive man talking about Taylor. She is getting so many vile, disgusting people talking about the most recent thing that's happened to her and this is just a breath of fresh air
Thank you for this reaction. I love her and I am in no way her target audience. The guys who feel a need to comment negatively are telling on themselves. I can’t fathom why they bother if they just don’t like her.
You always have the best breakdowns! I watch ALOT of reaction videos and yours are the best at really diving into the meanings. Loved this one. The video I've always thought was incredibly done!!
I am SO glad you gave appreciation for her timing on something as small as matching the movement of her coat to the beat. This is why I LOVE her reputation tour, bc every song she choreographs the micro movements to the beat and I find it so tasty! Lol Also, my dude knew there was an acronym for GLAD when i am gay and didn't even know that. But still called him Bryan Fenalds. I am deceased.
Please do the short film for All Too Well. I know you've reacted to the song already but the short film is just amazing! It was also directed by Taylor herself!
I wouldn’t consider myself a Taylor Swift fan at all, but I appreciated your analysis of this one song of hers that I know. Because of your analysis, I think I might have just grown a new respect for her writing.
Love your breakdowns- you catch so many subtleties that others do not. Yes, Taylor definitely has bars! I love the ways she buries stinging social commentary and disses in the fun melodies. You end up bopping to it and then wham - heavy messaging! It’s like Eminem but in pop form.
Yep! She and Katy Perry buried that hatchet and put the past behind them. I’m not a huge Katy fan still but, I love Taylor for the way she can forgive people ❤ they still aren’t besties but, it’s really sweet the way they came together again. I also love that Taylor isn’t afraid to call out haters. This song is so fun and I love that she pulled together such amazing celebs for the video. ❤
By the way, to fully understand the butterflies tattoos you have to watch the intro to the video for _ME!_ -the first single from this album ("Lover").
Knox, I love your Taylor Swift videos. You always help me understand what is going on musically, leading to a greater appreciation of the music that I listen to. Your TouTube reactions are my favorite.
So glaad that you catch up on the glaad reference!! also in case you missed it, Katy being Burger = B Taylor being French Fries = FF Together they are BFF !!
I love your breakdowns of TS music and vids. Great commentary and insight. I’m the only TS fan in my circle and everyone trashes her … it’s so nice to hear someone who recognizes her musical talents
Just because I haven't seen anybody else mention it, Katy Perry wore the burger costume to the Met Gala afterparty party in 2019, about 6 weeks before this video was released, and I remember the press articles and comments on the internet that severely ridiculed her for it. Katy looks sad and lonely until she spots Taylor dressed in the fries costume, and I interpret it as Taylor showing up for her like "if they come for you, they come for me too. Let everybody say what they will, we're just going to have fun".
I love all your TS reaction videos! You are so perceptive and I understand the song so much deeper after watching. I think you and Taylor could write a pretty clever song together 🙂
Your content is always 100% on point. You are so intuitive and catch all the little nuances and Easter eggs that Taylor puts out. I’ve watched that video dozens of times and you found even more interesting little clues. Bravo! Also, so sorry for your recent losses.
People have nothing going on in their lives so they need to hate on others for some twisted sense of enjoyment. It's really sad honestly. You are a great reactor. Never let the haters get to you❤❤❤
Taylor is so creative. She’s smart as well as open-minded. Her songwriting is superb. I think you have the sweetest face. I hope you are as kind as you look. Haters have abandoned grace.
Ok, I’m an older “Swiftie”, I have a few of her CD’s, I’ve watched a Livestream of one of her Eras Tour concerts, I bought myself one of her merch hoodies - but I’m not up on all the tea, all the Easter eggs, all the drama… You need to review every single one of Taylor’s music videos because it’s like a TS education! You seem so perceptive, and immediately get all of her references, you’re great at this!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 (I had watched this particular video a couple of times, but didn’t get even half of the things and cameos and lyrics meanings that you pointed out). Had to Subscribe ❤
WOW, learning about how you experience hate, and yes, TS she is really a very strong being to handle all that she deals with....I saw a couple other big stars IG accounts and I was stunned at the intensity of the meanness written at them - Taylor has comments turned off on her IG, no comments allowed :) smart girl!!.....some people just have dark damaged despairing souls and I guess need to project that outward to relieve themselves of their toxic self hate that they swim in all the time.......I think your reviews are amazing and I particularly appreciate that you go back a few seconds each time b4 beginning to play the song again!! Always great info and insights!!🙌🙆🏻♂👍

Another great breakdown of a great video! I love the way you pay attention to details while catching the overall arc of meaning in a song and video. I keep going back to this video of Taylor's when I need to calm down! The world is a bit loud right now. Thanks!!
She's so underrated by peers. But she will TAKE YOU TO CHURCH especially Don't Blame Me from the Reputation tour. That whole tour really ... it'll blow your mind. There's a reason we all scream TAKE US TO CHURCH TAYLOR when she starts singing it.
Her back tattoo is reference to her shedding her metamorphosis from her reputation era to her lover era (there was something similar at the beginning of the ME! music video)
You're becoming my favorite TS reactor because you listen to and appreciate the lyrics. To me, she is the Shakespeare of our generation (what would he have been like in the 21st century? A bit like this, I think). I have a BA in Literature, but you catch a few things even I missed!
TAYLOR MIGHT HAVE BEEN SALTY WITH THE FRIES made me laugh out loud 😂 you’re so quick! Also some cameos you didn’t comment on were the Queer Eye guys! I think you’d enjoy their show.
Her snake and stones never broke my bones statement is a twist to the original like you said but also plays off of Kim calling her a snake. Great word play by Taylor there!
Idk how many times I’ve seen this video. I never once got the “beef” and “salty” fries thing untik yoy said it. I did get that burger and fries go together. Butm the beef and salty went way over my head!

So I don't see any difference in this character dressing in dresses and Billy in dresses to also make a statement and be himself.
I may not listen to Taylor Swift's music but I have respect for her. I do like this song for calling out the haters 😊
I love “I celebrate the individual “ well said & so true.
Ryan Reynolds =Deadpool
You mean she was playing the "Reputation" album for them.
Wow way to go that you recognized GLAD ! Yey happiness!
Not a Taylor fan, just a generational gap. But this was agreeable. Great job ❤
Much love anyways for giving the vid a chance!
I loved you analysis and your energy
I'm happy to see a kind, supportive man talking about Taylor. She is getting so many vile, disgusting people talking about the most recent thing that's happened to her and this is just a breath of fresh air
I'm glad it got reposted
Had to fix the audio issues 🤟
Thank you for this reaction. I love her and I am in no way her target audience. The guys who feel a need to comment negatively are telling on themselves. I can’t fathom why they bother if they just don’t like her.
if you haven't heard it yet, Taylor's No body no crime with HAIM is so cool!
You always have the best breakdowns! I watch ALOT of reaction videos and yours are the best at really diving into the meanings. Loved this one. The video I've always thought was incredibly done!!
Right? He is the best! ❤
I am SO glad you gave appreciation for her timing on something as small as matching the movement of her coat to the beat. This is why I LOVE her reputation tour, bc every song she choreographs the micro movements to the beat and I find it so tasty! Lol
Also, my dude knew there was an acronym for GLAD when i am gay and didn't even know that. But still called him Bryan Fenalds. I am deceased.
Please do the short film for All Too Well. I know you've reacted to the song already but the short film is just amazing! It was also directed by Taylor herself!
i would pay all the money i have for you to break down every taylor swift's song and video. like your brain is amazing
This is only the second time I've listened to you, but you GET it. You're intelligent and the way you deconstruct songs is brilliant. Thank you!
I really appreciate your explanations of the songs, thank you 10:20
Wohooo! You just made me smile today! I've been crying most of the day. We love you Knox! ❤
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. X
By the way, to fully understand the butterflies tattoos you have to watch the intro to the video for _ME!_ -the first single from this album ("Lover").
Your Taylor reactions are always my favorite ❤️ I highly recommend checking out the man next!
Every time I watch that mv i catch more cameos. I never noticed it was Hayley Kiyoko with the bow and arrow until this time.
The snake and butterflies is from the song "me" around the first part
When you said “throwing shade” I was like- you got it! She’s about to say it! Ha
I absolutely love your narrative. The way you look into the meaning behind the words. Awesome dude!!!
Knox, I love your Taylor Swift videos. You always help me understand what is going on musically, leading to a greater appreciation of the music that I listen to. Your TouTube reactions are my favorite.
Love your critiques!!!! I see so much more consequently
So glaad that you catch up on the glaad reference!!
also in case you missed it,
Katy being Burger = B
Taylor being French Fries = FF
Together they are BFF !!
I love your breakdowns of TS music and vids. Great commentary and insight. I’m the only TS fan in my circle and everyone trashes her … it’s so nice to hear someone who recognizes her musical talents
You’re like one of the best reactors. You are doing it right Knox! You break it down so intelligently! My husband and I & friends enjoy you so much!
Considering the way Ellen bullied Taylor over the years on her show pretty big of Taylor to give her a cameo.
❤ love your energy and how you shine Knox. You bring all of us up with you, and truly inspire people to be the best version of themselves ❤❤❤❤ keep being amazing. Wishing all the love and happiness to you and your wife and girls!
Hey knox!! Just wanna say i love your energy so much and you're one of my fav content creators!
The guy sipping the tea is from Queer Eye. The group sitting with Taylor is the rest of the Fab Five. ❤️ I will also forever LOVE your reactions.
Taylor is a rapper at heart… her song with T-Pain is her crowning moment…!!
This is one of my favorite songs Taylor sings. I love her 😍
I love your reactions to Taylor’s songs!!!!! You are so good at picking up the things most of us don’t see the first time watching her videos!!!! She also puts so many Easter eggs in her videos for us Swifty’s to find. I have to watch them numerous times and still miss things you pick up the first time. Please do her all her videos!!!!!😅😊❤
love how you have the same bar breakdowns as you do in rap songs while watching Taylor Swift. Best breakdown channel on RUclips Forever.
Knox - I love your perspective and your interpretations. I think SOME of them are reaching, but that's only because I didn't think of them. Big Fan.
Haha much love! Hope you have a good day and thanks for the support 🤟
Pretty sure the "step on his gown' is a reference to Billy Porter. Love the commentary as always. :)
Thats why Lover is my favorite album by Taylor, such a great vibe that each song have, my girlie pop heart is happy
Beautiful message.
Fun delivery.
Another great breakdown of a great video! I love the way you pay attention to details while catching the overall arc of meaning in a song and video. I keep going back to this video of Taylor's when I need to calm down! The world is a bit loud right now. Thanks!!
just getting into taylors music, seems like she has such a fun diverse discography and she's a very good songwriter
I love this song. I had the right idea but you pulled all the stops. I love this song even more. And Taylor Swift is a beautiful person.
So sorry to hear you get hate on your channel!! I adore your Taylor Swift reactions! Thank you!
I had never even seen the music video to calm down but I have a whole new appreciation for the lyrics now
Her snake and stones never broke my bones statement is a twist to the original like you said but also plays off of Kim calling her a snake. Great word play by Taylor there!
When this music video first came out, I cried when I saw Katy. It was a moment. 🥰
Idk how many times I’ve seen this video. I never once got the “beef” and “salty” fries thing untik yoy said it. I did get that burger and fries go together. Butm the beef and salty went way over my head!
I love your reactions so much! I waited until my family was good and didn’t have a reason to interrupt me so I could watch in one watch! (No one was hurt by my absence: husband is 54 and son is 18)
