    I am curious: What is your main skin concern right now?

    • @monig.908
      @monig.908 4 года назад

      I am having trouble finding a good/affordable SPF! Summer is coming >.< and I am afraid I am not getting enough protection. However I don't want to spend over 20Euros, I am relatively new to your channel so I will check if maybe you already have info about that? Have a nice day :-)

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  4 года назад +2

      I have not yet, but I am currently testing a few that I might upload soon. What is your skin like? More oily or more on the dry side?

    • @monig.908
      @monig.908 4 года назад

      @@DoctorAnne A video with your recommendations would be great :-) I have normal skin sometimes dry around the nose. My skin tone is a bit dark and that's why I also get troubles with finding one with no white cast :(

    • @moose8762
      @moose8762 4 года назад +1

      @@monig.908 if you are looking for an affordable sunscreen with no cast then your best option would be a Korean or Japanese sunscreen, in my opinion. My favourite, for normal-dry skin, is Purito's Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ PA++++. I usually wait until it is reduced on Yesstyle to €12 and then buy 3 at once, they are 60 ml bottles. It is a very popular sunscreen, sustainably packaged, reef safe, moisturising, zero white cast even after multiple applications. The scented version is actually cheaper, sometimes €9. The prices change a lot. Takes a long time to ship but they are authentic and it is cheaper than amazon. Another one I love is Canmake Mermaid Skin UV Gel. That dries completely matte though, no white cast, more expensive: €14 for 40 ml and not reef safe. There are other options like Hada Labo, Biore, and such but I haven't tried them and wouldn't recommend any blindly. But I am very picky and spent months looking for a good affordable sunscreen and this one ticks the box. A UK brand called "Altruist" also makes a very good tinted sunscreen for anti-redness and pigmentation. It is a light to medium brown tint, £12 for 50 ml, and would be good for avoiding the white cast. Their non-tinted sunscreens have a high amount of glycerin (so shiny) and the SPF leaves extreme cast.

      @@moose8762 Thank you so much for your response! I am actually very attracted to the Purito one :) However, I've also heard that the Korean sunscreens are not that "protective", like I would not get enough protection from them and I don't know if this has been proven or not (I heard this also in Cyrille Laurent RUclips Channel when he reviewed Purito)

    I really appreciate these Good Molecules reviews. Thank you for telling us which one you use at night, and which during the day. Their 10% niacinamide serum is part of my daily routine. It is so reasonably priced, I buy 2 or 3 of them at a time.

    • @DoctorAnne

    I find that the issue with these brands that emulate The Ordinary, and TO. itself, is that the formulations are often not good. The Inkey List, in my opinion, has the best formulations of all the similar brands. I got caught up in them for a while but now I think my skin only needs sunscreen, Bioderma AR, Cicaplast Baume B5, and I will like look at buying Paula's Choice BHA 2% exfoliant to help with sebaceous filaments. I will probably buy the Purito Unscented Buffet Serum (Purito's organic sunscreen is the best I have come across, inorganic not so much) because that one calls to me even though I know I don't need it, but I think I can pass on Good Molecules as a brand.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  4 года назад +2

      I get what you mean, many try to follow a great concept and fail. For me all three brands have their strengths and weaknesses, which is why I will keep testing them, but you do of course not need to stray from a regime that works for you! It would probably be better for me if I wouldn´t switch up my routine so often, but what can I say, new skincare is my weakness.

    • @moose8762
      @moose8762 4 года назад

      @@DoctorAnne I still change my skincare a lot looking for the "perfect" products. I want things that are affordable, cosmetically elegant, free from irritating ingredients, and effective. It is difficult to find products that are all of those things. So far, I think I have found the perfect sunscreen for me, but my moisturiser keep becoming hand and body creams and my treatments keep changing. Hopefully I can just settle on the PC 2% BHA - and maybe a humectant - and find a moisturiser that is a bit less offensive but no less occlusive than Cicaplast

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  4 года назад +2

      To be honest, I get bored with most of my moisturizers very easily and use them up on neck and chest. I Always put that down to having more oily skin.

    Hi Doctor Anne. I've just recently started looking into adding Good Molecules to my skincare routine and wondered if you could help explain something about the Arbutin to me. I have seen on a different product review that arbutin breaks down into hydroquinone which can cause cancer. Is this true? Or is it only true in products that combine it with other specific ingredients?

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  4 года назад +2

      I will do a dedicated video on that in the future, but Arbutin is safe to use. As is Hydroquinone for that matter, if used as advised by the person prescribing it to you!
      Arbutin is indeed a precursor for Hydroquinone and works along similar pathways, but it does not reach high concentrations, so there is no need to worry.
      In general, the skincare products you can buy will not cause cancer, the skincare market is heavily regulated.

    Is the Daily Brightening Serum more effective if used together with the Discoloration Correcting Serum? Because I'm using the Daily Brightening for AM, and the Discoloration Correcting Serum for PM. Is this okay?

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  4 месяца назад

      It is okay. Both contain different ingredients that target different parts of the hyperpigmentation pathway, so combining them could be helpful. There are a few helpful ingredients missing in both, so you could maybe see more effect with other products.
