Today we are looking at a new release from Addiesdive: the AD2056.
This is an homage to the Seamaster 300 or if you prefer an homage of an homage if you take into account the Helson Sharkmaster.
Addiesdive in 2022/2023 were at the top of their game and produced some of the best budget watches to be found anywhere, never mind on AliExpress, but this year they have not been as consistent.
Can this new release, the Addiesdive AD2056 Sharkmaster, see a welcome return to form?

It is a very good looking watch John. Nice size and looks good For the price I wouldn't complain about the ghost date. 200m is good. I have dived with a Steeldive Tuna and a Heimdallr Monster as backups and both performed fine, I think I'd get a similar performance from this . Excellent video as ever !
I don't mind mentioning water resistance with Addie's as I have gone paddle boarding with them on a few occasions with no issues 🙂

This is a gorgeous watch and there's about a half dozen others on my radar, but I'm starting to think about where pieces will fit in my collection.
Will i wear them often and feel good wearing them? Idk, I'm going to keep my eyes open and keep everything in mind.

Great review 👍. That is a great looking watch, nice hands, no date dial, and I like the case and bezel. The only thing I wasn't keen on is the blue AR, but it isn't a deal breaker.
It's a sleeper. Out of the recent haul I just found I couldn't ignore it...bugger!

Go the watch for 98€ during the june summer sale. Decided between this model and other addies divers which was very difficult. Now after watching this video, i am even more excited!

This is an homage to a late 60s Omega Seamaster.
Great watch. I have the version from Watchdives with date at 6 o'clock and i believe mineral crystal or some type of plexiglass. I remember paying around $140. It also has an automatic movement, i think NH36. Looks identical.
This Addiesdive is a better purchase in comparison. Thank you for sharing John.
Correction: the Watchdives also has a sapphire crystal.

It kind of looks like the blue Ar coating is the same as the watch dives one.Which is one thing I hate about that watch - love everything else about it but the blueness at various angles spoils it - especially when the whole dial looks misty blue. Ive got many aliexpress watches but none have this kind of blueness to them. I do like the fact its bigger than the watchdives
That's a good looking watch. Why don't they use the proper movement, but like you said, it's not a real big problem. Would like to see it on a bracelet. Thanks for the review.

I wish such homages would use aluminium inserts instead of ceramic. Would look more vintage.
I totally agree with you. I will be doing a feature on Watchdives later in the month or early June so stay tuned as I am sure you will see something that will catch your eye ;)

I like ceramic much better, even in vintage watches. Maybe they could give the customer the choice.

To me AD2056 looks like a rework of the AD2105 with new bezel, dial and hands. As I'm pretty scared of ghosts, I'll pass this one and enjoy my trusty 2105 instead

How does it compare to the WD1967?
I suggest you watch my review. The Watchdives is a lot more detailed with subtle brushed and polished surfaces as well as date options and has a high quality bracelet included. It is smaller but also has an extra 100m of water resistance. It's a beast of a watch at its current price
A very nice one that hasn't yet been homaged to death. While I find it increasingly hard to forgive San Martin the use of ghost position movements on no date watches, But I think at this price point it's justifiable.

I like Watchdives better with the large triangle at the top and no logo.

Like yourself i think the OG is the one . I'd say they've done a decent job all round , size, dimensions , lume etc , not so sure about the price on rubber but its up my street either way .
It is cool and comes in cheaper than the Watchdives version but it had a lot more going on and it had a good bracelet :)

I really like the profile of the midcase. Unfortunately, the caseback ruins everything and 13.7 mm is just too tall for a watch this size. Great review of it!
Right? How about a miyota mvmt and a flat caseback to to trim it down a to a more skindiver-esque profile? Might be a fun mod...

Is really a diver or just a snorkler?
If it doesn't have Diver's on the dial it is not ISO rated to that depth but I go paddle boarding and have used a few Addie's watches for that with no issues :)

You should still be able to manage a 39.9mm though? You could always try the Watchdives version which is 38mm and is supplied on a bracelet if that helps :)
