Shes lying about how much work she does. If she was really charging 75 per hour and charging for 35 of the 50 hours she claims to work per week she would be making 2600pw ie well over 10k per month. Personal trainers just need a car and some gym gear iverheads wise. Shes only working maybe 15-20 hours a week. SHE NEEDS TO GET A JOB.
@@AngieMcdonald-fu9nhYes, her math is very off somewhere, but she showed she wasn't great at math on several occasions in the video including not knowing she was paying 28% interest for her watch. If she is working 50 hours a week, I think she's including commute time during which she's not earning money. If she's driving an hour round trip per client/class (not hard to do in LA), that doubles her "work" time.
Some people look at money incorrectly and get into this position. They ignore their accounts and reality and live in their own world. Money is freedom and money is also something you’re trading your life for. It’s not something you want to give away to interest payments. When you buy things just remember you’re trading a tiny piece of your life for it, if not a big piece. Do you really need it?

Often dads of pretty girls hide any financial concerns - they don’t discuss with children particularly girls - “don’t worry your pretty little head” - “she’ll marry a man who will take care of the money” - yada yada
Doesn't want to charge clients more money - Can't turn up to clients house with a dirty car (Clients live in Nice houses and have Rolls Royces in their drive). If they can afford that, they can definitely be paying you more! Also 21:25 a bit ironic, considering 38k back rent is owed and another loan was taken out for a Rolex. Maybe a bit harsh, but there are a lot of contradictions with this guest. I wish her all the best though, and hope that one day she realises that the feeling of being debt free is a lot better than drowning in debt for a watch or any other material thing for that matter.
The fact that she thinks her watch is an appreciating asset… yeah. When you buy it at face value and don’t pay double for it after her interest on a payment plan… I knew she would try to say that to justify things
What's even worse is she's charging "high end clients" only $75 per session. If its an old granny in Compton, I would understand that, but in Beverly hills? She's only short changing herself...
I filed Bankruptcy in 2007 and within 2 years I was approved for a credit card, within 6 years I owned a house, all with the same job with small bumps in pay each year. Currently I hold a credit score of over 800 with no late payments since the day I filed. Sometimes we have to make the hard choices to move forward in life. Sure, it doesn't feel good shirking your responsibilities but sometimes we need to take lumps to get ahead in life.
There were two really bad signs to me: 1. not realizing your net worth is negative, knowing the amount of debt you have 2. the claim that happiness = the rolex... good luck..
For sure amateur answer things don't make happiness, it's opposite, knowing you owe on it would bring stress and sadness knowing it was a dumb decision but she probably wanted to flash in front of her clients like heyyy look at me I'm doing well off as your trainer...NOT!
She 100% assumed she would marry someone with money which was why she was totally fine living "in the now" paycheck to paycheck. The only wrinkle is she is 43 (not quarter life lol) and single with rapidly depleting options as she is broke and can only have a high risk pregnancy at best.
Why do people make rice and beans seem so bad? You can make delicious meals with basic herbs and spices. I grew up eating peasant dishes and I still love them. I could afford more luxurious items, but rice& beans or rice&eggs+chili oil are my go to meals on lazy snacks 😂
@@baconofthearkIt’s pretty unfortunate that staples are seen as “poor people food.” I mean, even if they are so what? They’re healthy and filling, and as you say you can make them delicious if you just use herbs and spices!

A Mercedes is like a Toyota in LA? That's ridiculous! I live 2 hours north of LA, and when I visit it, I see many, many, older or affordable cars on the freeways. I'm sorry but that's a bs excuse!
I just sold my Toyota Corolla that was the best car I ever had - over 300k miles. Bought a 2018 Toyota Camry that only had 15,000 miles on it for $15 k - paid cash. I'm good to go for many years. I don't need fancy.
@TLA123y6f Way to go buying your car cash, and the great deal on your Camery! I totally agree with you about Toyotas. My husband has had his Tundra almost 20 years, and no problems! It just keeps going.
Well she said she makes $50k gross so net it's like $38k. She looking at almost a decade if not more to pay that off. With $2500 a month on rent she likely brings in $3,200-3,500 a month leaving her $700-$1,000 for all other expenses.
Yikes!! Her Rolex is probably more expensive than the monthly expenses of my family of 6 ($4000/mo). People are too obsessed with fake tokens of success. No one ever was on their death bed wishing they would have bought more crap.
Her mortgage is 3.5x more than my condo in the city...I couldn't imagine buying a $6000 piece of jewelry that couldn't floss my teeth or cut my vegetables 😂
YES! The economy, inflation and supply chains affected everyone’s bottom line, and nearly all businesses raised their prices. As a business owner, it’s a difficult conversation to have with your clients that you have to raise prices, but many of them understand. Yes, you’ll probably lose a few clients, but there are others that will see your value and you’ll gain more clients.
@@itsRomainFaure Seriously. This kind of stuff needs to be taught in schools BEFORE people screw themselves. Good money management is the most important life skill there is. Period.
Everyone comes down on caleb and his methods hard, for being too brutal. But not everyone who sits across from romain gets it when presented in a calm, reasonable manner. The kind of person who says “my rolex, the 10k debt i went through to get it was worth it” needs that kind of a come down. She is justifying an almost 300 dollar ulta purchase like drugstore products dont exist. Girl be for real
She doesn't want to charge her clients more, but she's perfectly fine with her employer charging her clients double. I don't understand why she's undervaluing herself with her personal clients. And at the same time she's frustrated that she doesn't get paid enough for her work. If she worked for herself and doubled what she charges, i wonder if she would still feel undervalued?
Roman, you should suggest that Jane start a RUclips channel. She could document her financial struggles and (even though she doesn't like social media fitness trainer influencers) discuss fitness and health. She has an interesting personality and could attract a good audience. She could generate some extra cash-flow and maybe even jump-start her personal client roster. Working 7 days a week for 50K is insane!!!!
Did she mean a CONTINUING quarter life crisis behavior - acting like she’s 25 - for years - she knows intellectually that she’s not quarter life, she said 40s
I like Romain because he treats his guests with dignity, even the ones that can be frustrating. If she is serious about her business, and she has the qualifications, she should consider raising her prices. Those clients in Bel Air and Beverly Hills know that an experienced trainer charges $150 to $200.
First, props to her and every guest that has the guts to share their story with the world. As someone who likes nice things and does have a tendency to care too much about what others think, I would definitely be freaked out about the remaining earning years I have left if I was 43. There’s no car or piece of jewelry that can take the place of having money in the bank and loving yourself enough to charge what you feel like you’re worth. She needs to work smarter and value her time much more. Great episode, Romain!
I am sure living in LA where everything is so superficial is not helping her. Not wanting to do social media but then justifies ulta purchase with having to keep up appearances for her job? It does not make any sense.
The math doesn't make sense: She works 50+ hours/week at rates of $75/hr (and what the gym pays her...no less than 30/hr), and comes up with $3.6k / month !? It doesnt make sense...
You're not thinking about the hours she doesn't make money. For example, in a session, she makes 75 dollars an hour. But if travel time is 1 hour+, she is making less than 75 an hr. Im sure there are other cases where she does not make anything like paperwork/backend stuff for her business.
Me too. I liked her personality and hope she can change things and not feel like she's only living to pay bills. I appreciate her coming on the show and being vulnerable enough to share her story.
So driving a Benz (which I’ve done) in L. A. (Where I live) is like driving a Toyota?? Then I wonder what driving my current paid off, 53k miles inherited from my mom🕊️2005 Hyundai in Beverly Hills (where I work)is like?? It FEELS like no car note, low insurance, 800 credit score, and regular gas freedom. I hope she gets it together and most importantly changes her mindset.
Schools must start teaching personal finance because she didn't learn it from her parents. She's teetering on bankruptcy, which stems from a series of terrible decisions. Btw, I don't think she understood what just paying 'interest' means.
Romain pointing out that she was going to Target, but saying she couldn’t grocery shop had me cracking up. He seemed so tense & was trying to stay cool
Wow, what a great episode! Romain, I think you did a fantastic job, you kindly tried to open her eyes for the reality and gave her the best possible advice to move forward. 👏 Jane, if you read this, swallow that pride and file for the bankruptcy. This is the only way you have a chance for a decent future, otherwise I’d say 99.99% you’ll never manage to get out of dept. Good luck anyway!🤞
I am here with like $800 in savings and $2500 in retirement.. blind and thinking "oh god I'm in a horrible spot". I am scared of going into credit card debt (European mindset I suppose).. Man, having that Rolex when you have no retirement is weird to me.
She says she works 7 days a week ? Let's see.. She makes approx $1000 a week. She charges $75 per hour. That works out at around 14 hours per week. She is definitely overworked !
Great episode, she suffers from what I went through, hopefully she can get out of her own way. She's got that I deserve it attitude expenses be damm thing , the consumerism trap. Filling the void by buying happiness, which is short lived. Hopefully she will soon learn the difference between pleasure versus joy. Best of luck to her. 😊
I understand not wanting to file bankruptcy. However she needs to make more money, rent a room in someone’s house and get another job (or 2) and buckle down for two years.
I like your advice about default on cc debt. There is a time when, upon default, the debt is written off and the bank cannot charge the crazy 30% interest rate on the balance. That leaves you, the debtor, the ability to settle an amount that is not accruing interest at all
I'm so confused...Romain is just the "declare bankruptcy" guru?! With only 30-60k of debt?? Good for her for reacting strongly! She just needs rice and beans, a second job (or a higher paying job), and cheaper rent! She needs to sell the Rolex asap, she may need a slightly cheaper car (just to save on maintenance..). That's it! 3 years out of debt and then three more years to build up retirement a little and then go on with life...!
What are the odds of her doing that for that long? She literally said that getting herself things is more important to her because it represent happiness.
Shes had 23 years to fo rice and beans. Shes not even willing to downgrade the car. Shes nit even willinv to work more than 20 hours a week. Shes a princess.
Wow , she is defensive " yeah, yeah", she is Middle aged and she doesnt seem to be facing reality. Like shes hoping for a bailout. I hope she gets her act together while shes healthy. Her credit is terrible anyway she should file .
I'm sorry, I'm 37 and make 101k a year and I could never stomach buying a $6000 rolex AND mercedes (any year). I could understand massage therapy if you have chronic health issues (like I do) or $ due to groceries/pet food ^ costs. But for image is ridiculous, she is doing this for opinions of people that don't pay her bills and wouldn't give her a glass of water on her death bed.
Her credit score is already bad and will be shit for so long either with bankruptcy or grinding through all that debt. She isn’t going to be using that credit for anything either way but one will get you through it quickly and start rebuilding instead of working 100 hours to pay it back over 4-5 years.
Lol referring to the Rolex as an appreciating asset while paying 30% interest on it and insurance fees. Bruh, its a two tone women's datejust... that will not appreciate at all ever.

Romain may benefit from a team like Caleb's. He completely missed the math gap between claimed hourly rate and actual income (about 1/3 what it should be). Caleb gets steady input from his team during the show.
Quarter life? Gonna live to 172. Good for her
it was a Freudian slip for thinking she's still 20
That's the point of personal training
maybe she meant it in the opposite way? as in quarter from retirement age....or something.
Instead of buying a Rolex she should have paid rent. No accountability. She lived half her life not accepting reality.
If I were her landlord I'd be pissed
She’s kinda entitled, and UNBELIEVABLY materialistic for someone making no money lol. Hope she sorts her priorities and insecurities out
I think she needs to increase her hourly rate if her clients are high rollers as she mentioned.
Right. She is saying they are paying for aesthetics but she isn't charging for it.
Absolutely she is. Way too low I charged 75 for regular clients in Arizona back when I trained she should be doing at least 125 per session
You are so calm and composed in getting through your points even in difficult arguments! I adore that!
I am with you since your first video Romain. This woman is entitled. And I am not sure how you are not beating your head against the wall. You are teaching her like what her Dad should have.
I always listen to you. And i live a debt free life. Investment on time. Live within my means.
Life is easy. Also you can go on dates and pursue things you love when you are wise with money.
Thanks Romain for being there for us.
Love and light.
Often dads of pretty girls hide any financial concerns - they don’t discuss with children particularly girls - “don’t worry your pretty little head” - “she’ll marry a man who will take care of the money” - yada yada
@maureenviola agreed
1. A great feeling is having 0 debt
2. Her high end clients are not peeking out the window to see if her car is washed
@@joeisnotmypresident6224 very insightful thank you
There were two really bad signs to me:
1. not realizing your net worth is negative, knowing the amount of debt you have
2. the claim that happiness = the rolex...
good luck..
Most folks in debt are low-keyed like this.😢
For sure amateur answer things don't make happiness, it's opposite, knowing you owe on it would bring stress and sadness knowing it was a dumb decision but she probably wanted to flash in front of her clients like heyyy look at me I'm doing well off as your trainer...NOT!
Imagine a 43 year old man having a negative net worth…women would make him a laughing stock
She 100% assumed she would marry someone with money which was why she was totally fine living "in the now" paycheck to paycheck. The only wrinkle is she is 43 (not quarter life lol) and single with rapidly depleting options as she is broke and can only have a high risk pregnancy at best.
Shes a laughing stock. She says shes too embarrassed to date.
Romain you are so nice and respectful
She says she would rather eat rice and beans, work extra hours, etc... but hasn't started any of those and complained she has to have car washes.
I’ve noticed people would rather work extra rather than change their own behaviors and habits. it’s a scapegoat excuse instead of looking inward!
EXACTLY!!!!! Make that make sense
Doesn’t pay rent for years. But not paying credit cards is outside of her integrity? And why is she so obsessed with saving her 580 credit score? It’s already a 💩 score !
I thought the exact same thing.
And her rent is probably going to a single person, not a bank!
Someone has to look out for those poor poor bankers at JPMorgan Chase. I’m sure Jamie Dimon will lose sleep over her not making minimum payments.
Its crazy she's still worried about her credit. Youre broke lady, you shouldn't be borrowing a dollar. She will eventually have to file bankruptcy, just in 10 times worst shape than she is in today
Most landlords do a credit check and can deny you rent for bad credit. She’s probably more worried about that.
@JakoWako She needs to go find a roommate or move in with family. Stay away from anything that requires credit check.
I respect that she doesn't want to go the bankruptcy route. However, I don't think she'll follow through on the "hard way" unfortunately.
Only time will tell :(
she will follow through for 2 month and than reward herself with a 6k vacation on 3 credit cards

A Mercedes is like a Toyota in LA? That's ridiculous! I live 2 hours north of LA, and when I visit it, I see many, many, older or affordable cars on the freeways. I'm sorry but that's a bs excuse!
Trying to look rich
She’s talking about clients she doesn’t have 😂
I just sold my Toyota Corolla that was the best car I ever had - over 300k miles.
28k is not much to pay when you have a Rolex and Mercedes. Dump the rich girl look and become an adult
Well she said she makes $50k gross so net it's like $38k. She looking at almost a decade if not more to pay that off. With $2500 a month on rent she likely brings in $3,200-3,500 a month leaving her $700-$1,000 for all other expenses.
Happy New Year, Romain! Glad you’re back.
Romain "My friend, on a monthly basis today, you are underwater X amount of dollars" Faure
Hahaha
It's one of those jokes they do on the c*mments on Joe Rogans videos😂 @@itsRomainFaure
She needs to fix herself fast. 43 years old and broke is alarming. The good thing is, she looks physically healthy.
This is WHY I NEVER get impressed when someone has/wears designer good.. it’s actually ridiculous
The worst is Coach purses. Give me a Baggelini and I'm set!
Her clients are rich but she charges such low rates that poor clients could likely afford. Need to raise it up a bit.
$75 an hour is a lot.
Problem is she is lying about her hours. 3600 pm is only 15- 20 hours a week.
She sould of NEVER bought the Rolex.
At a 30% interest this Rolex has already been paid twice !
@@itsRomainFaure Seriously. This kind of stuff needs to be taught in schools BEFORE people screw themselves. Good money management is the most important life skill there is. Period.

My 2k credit card debt ain’t too bad now that I watched this
0 don't suck
No it's still bad! Pay it off.
Yeah and Stephen Graham gave Roman really good advice to maybe do a day in the life type of finance show
@@TheLucky17 coming soon 😊

What is embarrassing about having a bankruptcy it’s just a smart, financial decision
Its embarrasing to be in the situation to need one. But shes already there so shes already embarrassed.
I listen to Roman at the end of the day to relax and watch him save Americans from financial ruins. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hehe 🙃
I’ve fed up with these financial idiots. They are so absorbed in their consumerism they have become divorced from reality.
She's spoiled, her parents bought her a Lexus SUV.
It's hard to have any sympathy.
Did she mean a CONTINUING quarter life crisis behavior - acting like she’s 25 - for years - she knows intellectually that she’s not quarter life, she said 40s
Rolex and BMW: check
negative net worth: check
Extremely LA episode
Bingo card!
Mercedes, not BMW. Also Southern Germany, but not Bavaria 😊
Just starting and her story is crazy relatable
The math doesn't make sense:
She works 50+ hours/week at rates of $75/hr (and what the gym pays her...no less than 30/hr), and comes up with $3.6k / month !? It doesnt make sense...
Yep, I wish Romain would call this out. Extremely obvious to tell the math ain’t mathing
Girl math
You're not thinking about the hours she doesn't make money. For example, in a session, she makes 75 dollars an hour. But if travel time is 1 hour+, she is making less than 75 an hr. Im sure there are other cases where she does not make anything like paperwork/backend stuff for her business.
Would the bankruptcy wipe out her back rent since she doesn’t have a judgement against her for the yet?
@@dylanfogarty2771 a lot of the 50 hrs is to booked those clients, and promote. She also works as a coach at a gym …
Everyone my age need to watch this. 25-35 watch this
Great episode, and I’m rooting for her to make it.
Me too. I liked her personality and hope she can change things and not feel like she's only living to pay bills. I appreciate her coming on the show and being vulnerable enough to share her story.
No feeling is better than being debt free.
I agree.
I rate that she didn’t wanna drag her debt into a relationship. Most people don’t even bother mentioning debt to their partners.
Damn, I respect the hell out of her not wanting to burden someone else with her debt in a relationship
Me too. I'm the same way.
I'm debtfree now. I won't date anyone with debt.
But she will burden her landlord.
Yea but don’t not file bankruptcy for some potential partner because end of the day might just be you.
You can get basic makeup at the drugstore and wash your own car for cheaper
My clients drive rolls royces, but i cant charge them the full amount? Doesn't make sense.
Generally short term happiness for long term pain
This is your year Roman!
It might be a good idea to wait until after she finds out if her back rent gets paid to file for bankruptcy.
Schools must start teaching personal finance because she didn't learn it from her parents. She's teetering on bankruptcy, which stems from a series of terrible decisions. Btw, I don't think she understood what just paying 'interest' means.
1:31 its midlife honey, not quarter life. You're 43 and broke.
Lol, I was thinking the same thing. She'll start saving for retirement at 80 to avoid a mid-life crisis.
Jane, if you read this, swallow that pride and file for the bankruptcy. This is the only way you have a chance for a decent future, otherwise I’d say 99.99% you’ll never manage to get out of dept.
Good luck anyway!🤞
She seems to know whats going on with herself internally. I hope she can make changes
I am here with like $800 in savings and $2500 in retirement.. blind and thinking "oh god I'm in a horrible spot". I am scared of going into credit card debt (European mindset I suppose).. Man, having that Rolex when you have no retirement is weird to me.
I can see her point about bankruptcy. I would never want to do that unless there was absolutely no other way.
She's drowning though and not realizing it. If she doesn't get her back rent pardoned she won't have a choice.
@ that’s true, she’s screwed if the back rent doesn’t go away.
She says she works 7 days a week ? Let's see.. She makes approx $1000 a week. She charges $75 per hour. That works out at around 14 hours per week. She is definitely overworked !
Yep. I mean that money is net. But i bet she hasnt paid taxes. Theres no overheads as a personal trainer with a paid off car.
“I dont want to overcharge my clients”
Immediately after
“I am angry and my salary is bullshit”
🤦♂️
"Living to pay bills." I can relate. She nailed it.
Your suggestion was his first recommendation.😂
She will go into bankruptcy one way or the other
Shes had 23 years to fo rice and beans. Shes not even willing to downgrade the car. Shes nit even willinv to work more than 20 hours a week. Shes a princess.
Merci beaucoup, Romain! Your channel has helped me take my finances seriously,
That's awesome!
She needs to charge her private clients more money. Straight up
Her credit score is already bad and will be shit for so long either with bankruptcy or grinding through all that debt. She isn’t going to be using that credit for anything either way but one will get you through it quickly and start rebuilding instead of working 100 hours to pay it back over 4-5 years.
I know 🤣🤣 she was so concerned about how everything would affect her credit score and I’m like GIRL your score is 580 that’s already shit
She looks good for 43. I thought she look mid 20s early 30s
