I was at the Quincy Jones concert. AJ wasn't even on the program. Was stunned when this young girl opened the show. Have followed ever since. Will see her in July in Norway. now she is 16. Hope she finishes school this year and can do more concerts.
Angelina has sung Fly Me to the Moon more than any other song. "Fill my heart with song, let me sing forever more" should be Angelina's mantra. No doubt she has a great love for this song. I love Mery's music video and Angelina's performance for it has grown on me over time (mark of a great artist when the more you listen, the more you enjoy it). Nice idea of plotting the evolution of Angelina! The first song - from 2016 when Angelina was on a long trip to the USA. Her Grandma directed the video, can you believe that it was supposed to represent spring on Mars? The salt lake was certainly testing Angelina's resolve, but she stuck it out! As to the location, the hills remind me of Red Rock Canyon, just outside Las Vegas, as to the salt lake - I am not so sure, though there are some around that area in Nevada. The salt layer over the mud - probably after some rain. Angelina really likes being in the desert, and on the hills she feels that she is closer to the Moon. The Moon features in other songs, like her version of Back to Black and in her original Million Miles - a strong Grandpa connection. Angelina was personally invited by Quincy Jones to open his 85th birthday concert at the O2 arena in London, all very last minute. Angelina had been giving a concert in Oslo just a few days before, she had the same outfits that she used in Oslo. At the rehearsal, that was the first contact with the symphony orchestra. All she knew was that it would be the Quincy Jones arrangement of the song. The video was being filmed by her mother from a balcony in the church hall - the shaky video and the poor audio were compensated by taking the official audio recording of the live event by BBC radio 2. The rehearsal was just one quick run through, Angelina was not sure on what the tempo would be, so one of the musicians plays a couple of bars - Angelina was OK with that, she became one of the instruments in the orchestra. There was a sound check in the venue - quite long but Angelina was so much in the swing that she just wanted to go through to the end - the conductor brought it to an end. Angelina opened the show, she had a brief word with Quincy on the way to the stage, then, to the full house delivered this relaxed rendition. Following this performance she returned to Norway and a few days later was in concert again with a different band. How many 12 year olds have a work ethic like that?
Les, I also love the version she recorded at the Log Cabin Recording Studio in New York. But there is a very short version, rarely listened to, that she did in duet with Tore Petterson during a radio program, which is simply sublime. But just ignore Petterson and listen to the beginning by Angelina her voice make me melt.
It's salt she plays with in the first song, I basically like both equally well. As a child, her voice has a quality that is not so obvious when she gets older. Thank you for your interesting response.

He especially asked for her to sing, and this is the original arrangement for Frank Sinatra which Jones wrote. The concert was performed at the O2 in London. By any measure, this was a big deal! The version I like most, though, is the one from The View. I just love seeing this little angel sing like the true professional she is. Regarding this double format, you might like to react to the two versions of My Funny Valentine, one when she was 10 and one very recently at age 16.

Bob, the first version was directed by Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani. I believe it was salt that Angelina was walking on. Don't think it was chocolate underneath. The second version was the rehearsal for the 85th birthday celebration for Quincy Jones. Like the idea of doing double reactions. It doubles the pleasure. Angelina does 2 versions of Cry Me a River, one with the Norwegian military band; the other, with a fabulous jazz band. Would be great to see your reaction.

I am not certain, but it could be near the Bonneville Salt flats in California. The main road from LA to Las Vegas goes through or near this area (any help from California AJ fans would be welcome). I am of the belief that the family has travelled through here many times, and I think Mery Zamani noticed the “other-worldliness” of this landscape and wisely chose it for the setting of her video. I love the idea of back-to-back video reactions. I have long thought playing Avicii’s original “Wake Me Up”, followed by Angelina’s tribute to him would be wonderful. The second video has the actual official concert recording synced to rehearsal video that he Grandmother shot, It was put together by long time Angelina supporter and super fan pa1189 (Philip, I think is his name, and we all owe him a big thanks for all of the Angelina music he has put up over the years). That original footage has a lot of room noise, though even in it you can hear the quality of her voice.
I had that 8 track player in the background only in blue instead of red. That's where I heard my first Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, and Lynard Skynard. This my first time watching your reactions. The 70s were where I long to be most days. The album covers are great also. Angelina Jordan has become one of my favorite people to follow lately. I first ran across her by accident a year or two ago. It was her Norway's Got Talent auditions that hooked me. She could sing the phone book and I would be there. She's not only a beautiful singer, she is a beautiful person. I recently watched one of her more recent videos and she is turning into a lovely young lady. Good comparison. Which do I prefer? Both because each has its own flavor. The first with a very simple accompaniment with "gypsy jazz" style guitar sounds à la Django Reinhardt and an already very rich voice. The second with a full orchestra and a more mature voice and an arrangement whose objective is to honor the one Quincy Jones did for Frank Sinatra.

you might check out her version she sang when she was 8 on the View. it was her first performance in the U S after she won Norways got Talent. She entered at age 7 and was 8 at the end of the show. i am not talking about the kids version but she is competing against adults too
It's her favourite song over the years, looks like she has gone this pass nearly 40x , a fan had collected it on YT. All versions are different, one acapella in the hills of Montana backing with the wind (tiktok), acoustic, or with the Bigband from her first Album up to the full symphony orchestra you listened before. Quincy was very impressed of her Talent and personality 💯🙏💃🔥🙄
That acapella TikTok was at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area just outside Las Vegas; as with most of her TikToks, the image is reversed, you have watch in a mirror to see what the location really looks like. I think the desert setting of the first video here is out in the Mojave or possibly Death Valley.

I also guess the location was chosen due to it's resemblance to the moon somehow.. Not sure, but that's what I have concluded in my own little head.... And Angelina was 8 years old in the video :-) As for the other performance. This was a rehearsal for her performance on Quincy Jones' 85th birthday concert in the O2 Arena in London. And she was 12 years old. Quincy himself invited Angelina to perform! Quincy has also said in interviews that Angelina is the biggest talent he has seen, after Michael Jackson. As you're probably aware of, Quincy produced MJ's first three albums, so he knows pretty well what he's talking about :-) The sound you hear in this clip is actually taken directly from the concert, as the original sound from the rehearsal was a bit lacking in quality. Probably Iran. Her father is/ was in the oil industry ,- the norweigan Statoil and he was stationed there for some years. And her grandmother who made this is born i nothern Iran. Besides her swedish father is from the same county as I am.

This is actually the arrangement Quincy Jones made for Frank Sinatra, and she appeared by his personal request, they also struck up a friendship, and he has said that she is the most influential singer since Michael Jackson, she also did a version, more jazzy, at a live concert which I think is her best performance of this song because she arranged it herself.

G'day Bob. I believe there was 2 years between the 1st and 2nd versions. I also believe she changed the way she sang it because it fitted better with the orchestra. And that looked like a salt lake to me. I used to play in them when I was a kid.

The 2nd vid is from the rehearsal before the Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration. Some say the soundtrack is from the actual performance. I'd say it is a lay over musictrack, but that it is from the rehearsal. I'd assume that they record the sessions to streamline it before the performance, and that recording is used to add to the cam.cord. The applause from the musicians gives it away. I like the first one "best", cause it's a bit raw and unpolished.... the rehearsal is like a studio recording, even though it's not. ANGELina has proven again and again that her voice is studio ready at any time, so..... rest my case. 😉

Quincy Jones arranged the second version for Frank Sinatra decades ago, when he was conducting Frank's orchestra (there are videos of this on YT). This is why Angelina did this version at Quincy's 85th birthday. It is, to me, the best version ever (by anyone), though I also love her other versions (there are several). The one she did on "The View" (with Rosie O'Donnell) was my introduction to her - and I've been an Angel ever since!

Hi Bob I enjoy all your reactions to Angelina the white stuff is weather she’s in the states or Middle East seems like at age she was probably traveling with her family probably filmed somewhere around the black sea. In your second of her rehearsal she does wear shoes to her rehearsals (they’re not really on stage performances you’ll be happy to know that when she’s performed this song she was as usual barefoot. The great Quincy Jones even was worried because she performs barefoot another thing in the rehearsal she is doing a lot of marking (holding back ) in the final performance you can hear the difference ( it’s the one where Quincy is cuddling with her no live video of her on stage but opening act for his birthday celebration )

Easily one her best. P.S. She also does a more upbeat version of Amy's other hit, 'Valerie'.

Fun fact..she told a story during her (long) interview during her live Christmas Concert where she told how, whilst she was backstage waiting to go on to perform, she stood on a mousetrap which snapped onto her bear toes lol 😂 she’s suffered for her pledge! I think it’s a salt flat somewhere and the brown sludge is an algae that survives by breaking down the salt (educated guess). It’s me again Bob want to tell you a story I live in Fla. now but I grew up in Newport RI back in the fifties when I was a kid I went to work for a guy his name was George Wein picking up trash at the Newport Jazz festival well one day I for some reason I was up a tree and fell out of it while sitting on the ground trying to clean the scrap with newspaper a lady came over knelt down pulled a handkerchief from her purse spit on and clean the scrape wink smiled and kissed my knee said that’ll make it better I remember getting so mad because I after all 10 or 11 yr old not a 5 yr old that lady was Billie Holiday. I worked for George for several years at the festival so I’ve most of the best live on stage Ella, Louis, Duke Ellington, Count Bassie, Charlie Parker one year I remember even Judy Garland was there. Anyway my point is Angelina would have fit right in except maybe the people who attended the festival as far as the people on stage she would have been welcomed with open arms having met a lot of the legends (before they were) I can tell you they were very nice and kind people

On the actual performance video she was dressed beautifully in a white gown, with no shoes that is verified with a backstage video showing her walking up a few stairs to enter the stage. She opened the show. There is a video of the performance but it is a very poor one. The video you saw was edited by pa 1189j who took the audio from the actual performance and put it to the rehearsal video which had a poor audio. So it made sense what he did. Bob, that was a super reaction with both videos at different times in her life. She was 10 in the first video and 12 in the second. You can't just say she's good for her age, because she was great at any age! The second was my favorite as it reminded me more of Frank Sinatra's version. Her tempo was more upbeat and rhythmic and of course the orchestra with Angelina is second to none. I was so impressed when they cheered for her and why not? Your videos are so down to earth and I'm always looking forward to your next one. Please reconsider something. We discussed artist support several weeks ago and I just wanted to expand on a couple of things. I'm sure Angelina appreciates the links you are provided in your description. The official channel would also be a great addition. Why should you encourage your audience to like comment and subscribe to YOUR channel and that of the artist? Both require maximized algorithms! Mariah Carey or Adele would not need your help. But aspiring singers like Angelina, Aurora, Grace vanderwaal, etc require the help of the reaction channels like yours. Also you may not be aware that a significant percentage of your viewers do not know about the description page or how to support YOU or the artist. Reactors should be educators to let them know how, and encourage equal support so that everybody wins. Finally, consider that the artists benefit from your reactions, but equally, you benefit from them and cannot thrive without them. It makes sense to highlight them along with you, in this way. You may be interested to know that there will be videos coming out in the near future that are designed to educate reactors and fans on how to best support their favorite performers. Of interest is that the videos will be highlighting select music channels that are implementing the guidelines that we have suggested. Many of these have achieved better growth due to increased loyalty from the artists' fans. These will be circulated on RUclips and likely in fan clubs of the young performers.There are already between 100 and 200 channels that we have worked with and meet these guidelines. Bob, I stated before that you put on a great show and have developed a nice following. But there is always room for improvement. We know there are a significant number that don't subscribe unless a reactor is fully supporting their artist. It is to your benefit to do so, and also to the benefit of gifts like Angelina. I and a team of fans of young artists got together after management of certain fan clubs informed us that some record labels of young artists felt that reaction channels were hurting their clients. They were getting less views and subscriptions because original videos and official channels were not being accessed by the viewers. Don't get concerned about what she's playing in, it's just salt with mud underneath. In the first video she was 10yrs old and in the second she was 12yrs old, both great but the second one is more polished and it's also my preferred version of the two.
Whenever I watch Angelina perform I have to mentally try to disconnect the video and audio inputs to my brain! How can the sounds I am hearing be produced by the child I see in the clips? She has to be one of the most talented vocal prodigies I have ever heard. The second version is a much more complex arrangement compared to the first. I think she’s playing in salt from the Dead Sea. She was 10 in the first one and 12 in the second one. She only sings barefoot while performing. There is a video of the actual concert her grandmother probably made backstage, and you can see she is barefoot going onto the stage. She wrote a book at age nine about why she goes barefoot, and she is the youngest published author in Norway.

The first song - from 2016 when Angelina was on a long trip to the USA. Her Grandma directed the video, can you believe that it was supposed to represent spring on Mars? The salt lake was certainly testing Angelina's resolve, but she stuck it out! As to the location, the hills remind me of Red Rock Canyon, just outside Las Vegas, as to the salt lake - I am not so sure, though there are some around that area in Nevada. The salt layer over the mud - probably after some rain. Angelina really likes being in the desert, and on the hills she feels that she is closer to the Moon. The Moon features in other songs, like her version of Back to Black and in her original Million Miles - a strong Grandpa connection. The second version - Jun 2018, now age 12. Angelina was personally invited by Quincy Jones to open his 85th birthday concert at the O2 arena in London, all very last minute. Angelina had been giving a concert in Oslo just a few days before, she had the same outfits that she used in Oslo. At the rehearsal, that was the first contact with the symphony orchestra. All she knew was that it would be the Quincy Jones arrangement of the song. The video was being filmed by her mother from a balcony in the church hall - the shaky video and the poor audio were compensated by taking the official audio recording of the live event by BBC radio 2. The rehearsal was just one quick run through, Angelina was not sure on what the tempo would be, so one of the musicians plays a couple of bars - Angelina was OK with that, she became one of the instruments in the orchestra. There was a sound check in the venue - quite long but Angelina was so much in the swing that she just wanted to go through to the end - the conductor brought it to an end. Angelina opened the show, she had a brief word with Quincy on the way to the stage, then, to the full house delivered this relaxed rendition. Following this performance she returned to Norway and a few days later was in concert again with a different band. How many 12 year olds have a work ethic like that?
Les, I also love the version she recorded at the Log Cabin Recording Studio in New York. But there is a very short version, rarely listened to, that she did in duet with Tore Petterson during a radio program, which is simply sublime. But just ignore Petterson and listen to the beginning by Angelina her voice make me melt.

Bob, the first version was directed by Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani. I believe it was salt that Angelina was walking on. Don't think it was chocolate underneath. The second version was the rehearsal for the 85th birthday celebration for Quincy Jones. Like the idea of doing double reactions. It doubles the pleasure. I think you are right Jerry, many people (particularly Europeans) are surprised at the location of the first video. I am not certain, but it could be near the Bonneville Salt flats in California. The main road from LA to Las Vegas goes through or near this area (any help from California AJ fans would be welcome).
I am of the belief that the family has travelled through here many times, and I think Mery Zamani noticed the “other-worldliness” of this landscape and wisely chose it for the setting of her video.
I love the idea of back-to-back video reactions. I have long thought playing Avicii’s original “Wake Me Up”, followed by Angelina’s tribute to him would be wonderful. His version is an anthem to following your own “beat to a different drummer”, while hers is a VERY slowed down version - a lament to the death of her friend. Here are the two links. The second video has the actual official concert recording synced to rehearsal video that he Grandmother shot, It was put together by long time Angelina supporter and super fan pa1189 (Philip, I think is his name, and we all owe him a big thanks for all of the Angelina music he has put up over the years). That original footage has a lot of room noise, though even in it you can hear the quality of her voice.

Angelina Jordan has become one of my favorite people to follow lately. I first ran across her by accident a year or two ago. It was her Norway's Got Talent auditions that hooked me. She could sing the phone book and I would be there. She's not only a beautiful singer, she is a beautiful person. I recently watched one of her more recent videos and she is turning into a lovely young lady. I still look at her as the tiny little girl I first watched though.

The first with a very simple accompaniment with "gypsy jazz" style guitar sounds à la Django Reinhardt and an already very rich voice.
The second with a full orchestra and a more mature voice and an arrangement whose objective is to honor the one Quincy Jones did for Frank Sinatra.

you might check out her version she sang when she was 8 on the View. it was her first performance in the U S after she won Norways got Talent. She entered at age 7 and was 8 at the end of the show. i am not talking about the kids version but she is competing against adults too
It's her favourite song over the years, looks like she has gone this pass nearly 40x , a fan had collected it on YT. All versions are different, one acapella in the hills of Montana backing with the wind (tiktok), acoustic, or with the Bigband from her first Album up to the full symphony orchestra you listened before. That acapella TikTok was at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area just outside Las Vegas; as with most of her TikToks, the image is reversed, you have watch in a mirror to see what the location really looks like. I think the desert setting of the first video here is out in the Mojave or possibly Death Valley.

As for the other performance. This was a rehearsal for her performance on Quincy Jones' 85th birthday concert in the O2 Arena in London. And she was 12 years old. Quincy himself invited Angelina to perform! Quincy has also said in interviews that Angelina is the biggest talent he has seen, after Michael Jackson. As you're probably aware of, Quincy produced MJ's first three albums, so he knows pretty well what he's talking about :-)

This is actually the arrangement Quincy Jones made for Frank Sinatra, and she appeared by his personal request, they also struck up a friendship, and he has said that she is the most influential singer since Michael Jackson, she also did a version, more jazzy, at a live concert which I think is her best performance of this song because she arranged it herself.

The 2nd vid is from the rehearsal before the Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration.
Some say the soundtrack is from the actual performance. I'd say it is a lay over musictrack, but that it is from the rehearsal. I'd assume that they record the sessions to streamline it before the performance, and that recording is used to add to the cam.cord. The applause from the musicians gives it away.
I like the first one "best", cause it's a bit raw and unpolished.... the rehearsal is like a studio recording, even though it's not.
ANGELina has proven again and again that her voice is studio ready at any time, so..... rest my case. 😉

Quincy Jones arranged the second version for Frank Sinatra decades ago, when he was conducting Frank's orchestra (there are videos of this on YT). This is why Angelina did this version at Quincy's 85th birthday. It is, to me, the best version ever (by anyone), though I also love her other versions (there are several). The one she did on "The View" (with Rosie O'Donnell) was my introduction to her - and I've been an Angel ever since!

Hi Bob I enjoy all your reactions to Angelina the white stuff is weather she’s in the states or Middle East seems like at age she was probably traveling with her family probably filmed somewhere around the black sea. In your second of her rehearsal she does wear shoes to her rehearsals (they’re not really on stage performances you’ll be happy to know that when she’s performed this song she was as usual barefoot. The great Quincy Jones even was worried because she performs barefoot another thing in the rehearsal she is doing a lot of marking (holding back ) in the final performance you can hear the difference ( it’s the one where Quincy is cuddling with her no live video of her on stage but opening act for his birthday celebration )

Keep in mind that the first version was when Angelina was ten years old and she was twelve years old in the rehearsal version. It demonstrates how much her vocals have evolved in just two years.
Both versions were amazing, but you could definitely hear the maturity in her voice on the second video. I've reacted to more of her current music, but they got blocked. Hoping they clear in a couple of weeks.

Have you viewed another Angelina video, in which she rehearsed with a string section doing a revamped versions of Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black'?(her mother asked her to change the lyrics on the way to the session because of the adult theme in the original song). It’s me again Bob want to tell you a story I live in Fla. now but I grew up in Newport RI back in the fifties when I was a kid I went to work for a guy his name was George Wein picking up trash at the Newport Jazz festival well one day I for some reason I was up a tree and fell out of it while sitting on the ground trying to clean the scrap with newspaper a lady came over knelt down pulled a handkerchief from her purse spit on and clean the scrape wink smiled and kissed my knee said that’ll make it better I remember getting so mad because I after all 10 or 11 yr old not a 5 yr old that lady was Billie Holiday. I worked for George for several years at the festival so I’ve most of the best live on stage Ella, Louis, Duke Ellington, Count Bassie, Charlie Parker one year I remember even Judy Garland was there. Anyway my point is Angelina would have fit right in except maybe the people who attended the festival as far as the people on stage she would have been welcomed with open arms having met a lot of the legends (before they were) I can tell you they were very nice and kind people

first was 10 yo. Last was 12 yo. Love both but even Angelina today couldn't top that performance at the 02 Arena in London. It was at Quincy Jone's request she sing the version he arranged for Frank Sinatra at his 85th birthday celebration. She was wearing shoes because this was a rehearsal. On the actual performance video she was dressed beautifully in a white gown, with no shoes that is verified with a backstage video showing her walking up a few stairs to enter the stage. She opened the show. There is a video of the performance but it is a very poor one. The video you saw was edited by pa 1189j who took the audio from the actual performance and put it to the rehearsal video which had a poor audio. So it made sense what he did.

Bob, that was a super reaction with both videos at different times in her life. She was 10 in the first video and 12 in the second. You can't just say she's good for her age, because she was great at any age! The second was my favorite as it reminded me more of Frank Sinatra's version. Her tempo was more upbeat and rhythmic and of course the orchestra with Angelina is second to none. I was so impressed when they cheered for her and why not?
Your videos are so down to earth and I'm always looking forward to your next one. Please reconsider something. We discussed artist support several weeks ago and I just wanted to expand on a couple of things. I'm sure Angelina appreciates the links you are provided in your description. The official channel would also be a great addition. Why should you encourage your audience to like comment and subscribe to YOUR channel and that of the artist? Both require maximized algorithms! Mariah Carey or Adele would not need your help. But aspiring singers like Angelina, Aurora, Grace vanderwaal, etc require the help of the reaction channels like yours. Also you may not be aware that a significant percentage of your viewers do not know about the description page or how to support YOU or the artist. Reactors should be educators to let them know how, and encourage equal support so that everybody wins. Finally, consider that the artists benefit from your reactions, but equally, you benefit from them and cannot thrive without them. It makes sense to highlight them along with you, in this way.
You may be interested to know that there will be videos coming out in the near future that are designed to educate reactors and fans on how to best support their favorite performers. Of interest is that the videos will be highlighting select music channels that are implementing the guidelines that we have suggested. Many of these have achieved better growth due to increased loyalty from the artists' fans. These will be circulated on RUclips and likely in fan clubs of the young performers.There are already between 100 and 200 channels that we have worked with and meet these guidelines.
Bob, I stated before that you put on a great show and have developed a nice following. But there is always room for improvement. We know there are a significant number that don't subscribe unless a reactor is fully supporting their artist. It is to your benefit to do so, and also to the benefit of gifts like Angelina. I and a team of fans of young artists got together after management of certain fan clubs informed us that some record labels of young artists felt that reaction channels were hurting their clients. They were getting less views and subscriptions because original videos and official channels were not being accessed by the viewers. Myself and my team are great fans of reaction channels like yours, especially the ones that operate in a professional way. We feel you provide a great service to the artists in terms of general exposure, but a majority of reactors promoted only their own channels at the expense of the artists. So we have been on a mission over the past year working with reaction channels to educate them on how to better promote themselves as well as the artists on equal footing. It's a win-win situation. We also have been partnering with the reactors we're working with with other ideas for their channels in addition to artist support but some of it also related. Amongst us, we have probably watched well over 5,000 reactions in the past couple of years so we are well versed on what is happening and what can improve to make everyone happy. I started this effort as I have over 40 years of marketing experience during my career and that really helps me look at things in a way that can help you. We don't get paid for this. It is a labor of love. Whenever I watch Angelina perform I have to mentally try to disconnect the video and audio inputs to my brain! How can the sounds I am hearing be produced by the child I see in the clips? She has to be one of the most talented vocal prodigies I have ever heard. The second version is a much more complex arrangement compared to the first. But, it's like trying to compare red whine to white wine. It depends on your mood and your meal!

Hi Bob, It's a great idea to compare two of Angelina's versions. I know three versions of this song by Angelina. The first is an appearance on American TV (The View) at the age of 8. Then the two versions you had. In the music video she was about 10 years old and in the recording with the orchestra she was already 12 years old.

I think she’s playing in salt from the Dead Sea. She was 10 in the first one and 12 in the second one. She only sings barefoot while performing. There is a video of the actual concert her grandmother probably made backstage, and you can see she is barefoot going onto the stage. She wrote a book at age nine about why she goes barefoot, and she is the youngest published author in Norway.
