I am from Bali and live in Bali, Denpasar to be exact. So just want to share a bit info, you can find very nice granite a long Jalan Mahendradata Denpasar. They even ship their granite all over the world. That way you don't need to spend extra cost to ship your counter top from Jakarta.

I'm likely one of your older viewers (yes baby boomers do exist and watch you), I've been following your travels for years. I can only imagine the pride your parents have for your accomplishments. As a parent watches the child reach for stars and embrace ambition, they hold their breath and pray. Matt you have learned to soar with the eagles. Congratulations on your accomplishments. Maybe a cool relique for the Villa would be hanging your first backpack if it is still around.

I visited Kenya for Christmas 2022 with my dad (who was born and raised there) on what I called the "heritage trip". All of his family came to the US for college in the 80s, most stayed some went back home. Having come from an unseasonably warm Boston where I live and NJ that seems to be the new Florida, weatherwise,. We're quite well off in Kenya, and solid upper middle class here in the states, but what blew me away in terms of climate, was how concerned they were in Kenya, that the rainy season began very late, infrequently rained a lot, and now they're close to a draught again, it's interesting to learn that Bali, another near equilateral area of the world has been had more rain too, enough to be noticable for construction projects which is also a problem in Kenya too.

Here’s how … just looking at the beautiful sunset is your zen garden! it s all around you but a beach is not everywhere… surrounding yourself with like people and friends is a spiritual happiness that will build more on living, loving & laughing and that alone is your zen! In condition of raining most of time in the year I recommended to build garden as least mess in the middle of the house.
In my opinion Japanese garden zen is an interesting option. Imagine when you sitting or walk around Tulum beach then walk beach, all the sand stick everywhere and drop everywhere in the house and in raining season it's turning to sand pit which is not really pretty tho.

This is all well and nice but most people here are oblivious to the fact that he does not even own the land the building is built on and never will.
It's basically leased to him in a range of 18 - 30 years (Leasehold). And I've seen this happen many times in Bali real estate that once the initial lease is up, the true owner of the land can just decide NOT to renew his lease and whatever LeBlanc has built on the owner's land will essentially become the true land owner's own personal property.
Do not invest in this unless you are absolutely sure about the cons or expect a ticking time bomb of a class-action lawsuit in the future IF for whatever reason the landlord decides not to renew his lease. Not to mention Bali laws and courts tend to favor locals so don't be expecting Matt to win anytime soon.
