Just some information: non Indonesian citizens are not allowed to own any freehold land in Indonesia. So foreigners who built their villas in Indonesia usually are entitled to use those lands for a period of 10, 20 or 25 years. So any foreigners who wished to own it any longer better think again.
If negotiated, you can extend your leasehold two additional times after the initial acquisition. Indonesian law allows these extensions to be up to 80 years in total (30 years, 25 years, 25 years). So for many, if negotiated, owning the land itself isn’t too big of a deal. If you are looking for something to pass on to your grandchildren, then this isn’t the place to build, otherwise, it can be a great option for ex-pats or investors.

You need to visit or stay at the Hoshinoya Bali near Ubud. Design and architecture is a remarkable blend of Balinese and Japanese - even at the risk of more ideas to incorporate into your villa.
I saw your construction site in Tumbakbayuh accidentally and was confused because you said before it's near Uluwatu. I built a bamboo villa near yours in Buduk and I'm happy you changed your original boring plans

as an expat living on bali and also building here I have a feeling that to distinguish it's probably better to avoid a bali style design ideas. Four seasons is a famous hotel, but as an inspiration it rather promotes the most typical type of upscale design on bali. As an example, the limestone on the walls is at every second house here. Obviously the question is how to balance the use of local materials and the design that is unique to bali as well. Otherwise, great job.

Just a heads up - the holiday is not called Eid Mubarak. It's just Eid, or sometimes Eid al-Fitr. or Eid al-Adha, depending on which one it is, as there are two. Eid Mubarak basically means "happy Eid".

the synthetic wood can be the better choice too because I had wood and so many termites after 10 years all had to be replaced again!
Yes! But luckily Ulin (ironwood) is too dense for termites so you won’t have that issue there either
