    That is a huge difference considering the cost and marketing of grow lights.

    The white light is also much better on the eyes if you're growing them in your kitchen. When I first started I used a red grow light that I had and you got blinded whenever you went in the kitchen, the white lights though have never been an issue.

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  4 месяца назад

      Yes! That is very true. The white light is way more gentle on the eyes. In our kitchen, we have one of our countertop grow units that has a light, and I couldn't imagine it being a red light, lol. It would be too much

    This is awesome! I want to grow bonsai (Pafra trees/Portulacaria Afra) under the shop lights setups. Thank you for sharing this 😁

    Yeah for microgreens or seed raising the shop lights seem to work just as well as more expensive grow lights in my experience too.
    I'm wondering if the grow lights are advantageous with more mature plants though.
    Hey, why don't you run a test?😊 I sometimes start peppers under lights as my growing season isn't that long. Maybe they would be a good test subject.

    literally everyone should know this. Those blurple lights are a all round light for things that veg then bloom. These do not bloom, so the more white light the better the plant will grow.

    My experience w/ shop lights...
    In the 3 greenhouses ive only used shop lights and never had "gangly" plants...all were beautiful.
    The ones I used were NOT LED lights or grow lights ...the ones I used were the good old fashioned "tube" shop lights....
    🤷🏻‍♀️🤔

      It's wonderful to hear you had good growth with the fluorescent shop lights! We haven't tested that kind before, though we have tested fluorescent grow lights against LEDs!

    you cant compare this way : you should have measured ppfd and make sure both seeds plate were exposed with the same PPFD. same wattage doesnt mean it produces same PPFD at the same distance. So the results of your experiment arent valid.

    • @OnTheGrow
      @OnTheGrow  3 часа назад

      We appreciate your feedback! We understand your point about PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) and how it can impact more controlled experiments. However, this video was designed for a broader audience-people who may not have access to equipment for measuring PPFD or may not even know what it is.
      The goal was to show a simple comparison using common lighting setups that are accessible to everyday growers, so while it’s not a highly controlled scientific experiment, it still demonstrates meaningful results for what we were trying to convey in the video.
      We totally encourage more advanced experiments, such as the one you’re suggesting! If you'd like to create a video comparing PPFD at different distances and wattages, that could definitely provide additional insights for more technical viewers. But the focus of our video was to help beginners understand the basics, and calling it 'invalid' might be a bit harsh, as it’s valid for the context we’re presenting.
      Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, and happy growing!

    LLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL
    YOU DO NOT USE A BLOOM (RED) LIGHT FOR VEG!
    You don't get to call it a "Grow light" and think your doing us a favor. You're mudding the subject for novices.
    Both are "grow lights"
    This isn't a comparison its a joke.
    If you do FS/5000k/6000K fine, but this absurd.
    This is just content farming or dumbassery.

    • @melee2021
      @melee2021 11 дней назад

      The red is just what we see. The grow lights, in this case, throws out the spectrum to cover all phases of the grow, where as the shop light is mostly 65k
      I think it's a fine comparison regarding to one's budget, what can be achieved with either type of light.
      To call them both 'grow lights' is dumbassery, because clearly, a shop light is used for us to see the content of what is displayed within said space.
      Get a grip John
