Victoria blowing up one chickens head then apparently forgetting her superpowers when it came to the sheep because the rest of the plot had to happen
Yeah, this is kinda bothering me too.
I justified it in my mind by thinking that she was afraid that while she's busy targetting the sheep one by one (because it seems she needs to be actually looking at what she wants to pop for it to happen) , one of them will get her, because they're fast and flying.
But yeah. I am not convinced by that justification myself.
I think she has to be able to stand in place for like 5 seconds before popping a head. With like 5 sheep one could’ve easily killed her while she just kills 1 sheep and she worth more than that
The chickens were moving at a much slower velocity than the sheeps. Vic can't explode high velocity targets, which is why she only killed the driver at the end of the episode when the car reached the stop sign.

@@AlexKwiatek The virus can only be caught directly or through bodily fluids. Starlight is in her own head, which is the cause of her inability to fire her powers up. She's obviously afraid that she's going to lose control of herself again, so she's subconsciously preventing herself from being able to use them. That's just my 2 cents though.

I thought starlight had no powers due to minimal electricity in the area. The house is most likely off the grid, or minimal electricity unless it's clear that it's not .. so that neuman could conduct her tests
The rare thing is Huggies dad dying would’ve happened with our without him meeting the boys. His dad had a stroke but had he not ever met the boys he would’ve never gotten that goodbye

Honestly, I have no clue how this seasons going to end. And thats amazing... Also the character development is so real. Its funny how Frenchie, told MF about his past needing to be accepted yet, he's not able to even function when he needs to face his past. Im thinking MF is going to have to be the one to bring Frenchie back. That or Frenchie dies... UIHH sooo muchhhh

Dam this episode is F diabolical, I thought Ryan will think badly of his father, instead of giving him a chance and letting him be manipulated again, and seeing Butcher become a human being a bit, end up seeing him become a monster again. Every character in this episode clearly trying to fight their inner demons but end up ironically, kind a sad and that's kind a how life work in real life

How did Butcher have the time to chop off Sameer's leg and then tie him up without anyone else noticing? And how did they not find Sameer after searching.
He just kidnapped him and chopped his leg off later before the forensics arrived.

To me Homelands just uses his 'honesty' and 'realisations' to give Ryan false hope/trust to get manipulated even more. I didn't like how quickly Ryan became 'Evil' again after just a few seconds after saying "I want to help people".

Honestly, the moment Stan came on screen, I really didn’t care about anyone else. that’s not anything to do with bad writing or the characters, it’s literally just Esposito’s portrayal of the character.
He’s absolutely captivating.
Also, whoever did his fashion? They should be proud of themselves. The man walked out of prison like he owned the ground he walked on.
I was actually a little underwhelmed by his character after the initial hype of his reintroduction

And man, i know people've always point the fact that Giancarlo plays the same type of villain, i humbly disagree, i walked through Far Cry 6, BB/BCS, and The Mandalorian prior to catching up with The Boys..
And i kid you not, every single one of his character had a subtle uniqueness, either in manner of speech, gestures, or simply the way they interact with other characters.
Giancarlo might be coming quite late into the industry, but i'm glad he and Bryan got the chance to steal the spotlight for over a decade now.

It’s interesting to know that both Hughie and his father share similar powers both of them having to do with spatial manipulation Hughie could teleport while on Temp V while his father can phase through things. this could mean that whatever V does to your cells that makes you into a superhero has some sort of hereditary factor.

And it makes u think will hughie feel how those families feel remember his gf died the same way his dad is running around killing them in the hospital this show is so good it’s full circle his whole reason for going up against vought he and his mom made the dad the exact thing
Am I the only one who thinks that Victoria has her own more reasonable agenda? No necessarily better. I don’t think she has the same disdain towards nonsupes as Homelander does.
We already know the answer, Stan specifically says he raised her to ALWAYS play both sides. She will never be one-sided on any position (clearly even with her own daughter).
So her ideas will always be less radical and therefore "better" than Homelander's radicalized psychotic beliefs.

I guess she is playing both sides, but the finale being her assuming the role of US President along with her supe status reveal'll stir things up, legally, and emotionally.

He’s the reason why she’s in the seven, and he made her co-captain specifically to denounce homelander’s behavior. Keep in mind that Edgar and Starlight share disdain for the same people (Edgar dislikes pretty much every supe except Noir)

I don't think it's that deep, I think she just went there to leave a floater like Cameron suggested when she was venting to him.
I think kessler is his parasite talking to him, its his guilt manifesting just like becca because he couldn't save them both. At one point kessler also said that " How bout we go to a mission, just the 2 of us" or something like that. And also its kinda weird that kessler shows up at the most random places.
I bawled watching Hughie say goodbye to his dad. My mom was sick in the end and I would have struggled similarly if given the chance. But I know she's not suffering anymore....ugh

something I'm not sure if anyone picked up on: they just kinda left the dead sheep full of the virus lying around for scavengers, and since the virus passes by bodily fluids it's likely to pass onto the babies of those scavengers, pretty much immediately actually as they'll be feeding the dead sheep to their young, we might be seeing it spread fairly quickly through vultures, bugs(flying ones namely), wolves, lions, crows, raccoons, you name it
There were police aftermath, so they just took care of it
the virus is only harmful to supes/v-ed up creatures, i think they will be fine
I mean. all those farm animals got superpower from drinking the ground water. So I guess the show kinda forgot about the thousands of other animals living around there. Where are the suped up beetjes and rats and moles and birds and butterflies etc. etc.
I think Kessler isn't real, Hughie's mom is obviously, but definitely think Kessler is, hes never been on camera with anyone, he shows up when Butcher seems to doubt himself abd then you don't see his wife, shes the angel, Kesslers the devil on his shoulder. I just got finished watching it, this season finally feels like its ramping up more, 1-3 were meh, good but meh, I think 4 and 5 have really amped it back up. I have never laughed so hard at a pack of sheep, the sheep inparticular were so fucking funny to me. I liked how they balanced the emotional heavy stuff with that little bit of humor to take the edge off but I think the actors really shined in their performances too. Just my opinion!❤
Episode 5 is a masterclass in "how to" write character interactions..
The moment Stan catch his breath, we could've had a quip to escalate the situation, but no, instead we're given great build up for Frenchie's decision later on, and the fact that Starlight sort of mediates Kimiko and Frenchie made it all the more endearing, only for cgi bull to get ripped by flying sheeps, diabolical whiplash, this episode perfectly encapsulates The Boys' first season.
I love that analogy about the devil and the angel on his shoulders. I wonder if you rewatch, you’ll only see them on the left or the right on Butcher.

@wrestlerecap1324 Butcher stops and looks over at him, and says "we", and he looks to where Kessler is standing and raises his eyebrows, giving a very distinct wtf look, and I'm not the only one saying this. I think most people think Kessler isn't real at this point, or I'm seeing that anyway, but go back and watch when Butcher looks at Kessler and then he looks to where Kessler should be, but I don't think he sees him. Acknowledge him, no, but look over to the spot where he should be, he does and makes a wincing confused face

We never really got an origin on V other than it being designed by the nazis, but no info on where it came from, what its derived from etc etc. Im curious if these worms are just juiced up tapeworms or something entirely more sinister. Kessler gave Butcher physical documents while they sat on a bench and I think on other occasions as well. So I believe he’s real.
We need to see him actually interact with another person. Documents could just be how Butcher's mind conceptualizes, or rather compartmentalizes, information and ideas he associates with the Kessler personality
@@mattgilbert7347 I watched some clips of Butcher interacting with Kessler and you might be right. Now that I think about it the documents Kessler gives him are about the Virus that kills supes, of which existence Butcher was already aware since he found the location where it was made at the end of the GenV show. The drugs Kessler gives him can be easily found by Butcher seeing his connections and all. Besides, since Becca is his Angel on the shoulder Kessler could very well be his Demon. And on top of that we never see Kessler interact with his surroundings: when he’s introduced he never touches the coffee cup and the camera never really focuses on him, or if it does it cuts away almost immediately.

Thing is, for anybody who watched _Gen V_ , they would remember Butcher going through The Woods and seeing those bodies himself. He wouldn't need documents because he was actually there.
@@decepticonxhunter4850 Well yes but like Matt Gilbert said the “documents” in question could be how Butcher sees the information he already has and associates them to Kessler. He basically reminded himself of the virus through his evil side which is represented by Kessler and the memories he has of the Woods are the documents that are perfectly fit for Kessler’s character. I don’t know if I made it clear enough because this is some Freudian type of shit and English isn’t my native language.
It’s hilarious that Adam deserves punishment for his mistreatment of women, and Homelander uses the product of his UTMOST SA to administer the punishment.

What’s interesting to me is that they’ve done w very clear and obvious job making the viewers think Kessler isn’t real… isn’t like a subtle thing where you need to go back and see it, it perfectly aligns and is even what I believe a reasonable person would expect. So wouldn’t surprise me if they are doing it to throw us off and he either ends up being really him… or a shape shifting supe with more nefarious intentions?
I dont know if anyone has mentioned it yet but the biggest secret that Ashely has is that she either has/deleted footage of The Boys rescuing Queen Mave and that shes still alive somewhere.

If Butcher's buddy is indeed a hallucination, then who is providing Butcher with all the intel? I hope he's real, because him being a hallucination is kinda dumb.
I got sort of a crazy hypothesis here. It’d be nice to know if he’s real, but it could be both real and a hallucination. Rather, he’s manifesting this man into something real, but something only he can see and he doesn’t realize it. I think butcher may have gotten a smidge of permanent powers from taking too much temp v, and this is one of those benefits.
Baseless, but a fun thought nonetheless.

I think Kessler is real. When Butcher was hallucinating Becca earlier in the season after falling out of the shower, his hand went through her leg when he went to use it as leverage to get up, showing us that he can’t touch her so she’s a hallucination. He does a successful handshake and a hug with Kessler, showing us that he’s real.

Said this years ago and I'll profer it here as well: Stan is a Supe. He always has been. His power is draining other Supe's powers (Like Leech from X men). This is why Starlight loses her powers and it's also why Homelander can't kill Stan and why he's always unafraid around Supes: he's draining their powers. Although Vicky still being able to use her powers this episode does throw a wrench in this theory, I think it can also suffice as a viable explanation as to why she couldn't pop the sheep. Stan was around Starlight for a while, which is why she was so drained come the barn; Vicky had only just gotten around them which means she has some juice left.
Just a thought.

This show was something I used to look forward to each week, dead excited. Now I literally just put this on when I can't find anything to burn an hour, it's completely lost the plot, very disappointing.
@nooux1966 I 100% agree. Why is Kimiko taking counseling? Do we care about this? What happened between her and Frenchie? When did Frenchie get a boyfriend, and when did he kill his family? It feels like you missed a few episodes jumping into season 5. I had to turn it off in the middle of the new episode.

My current theory is that the supe virus is the Boy's version of a symbiote, as in its a virus that was enhanced with compound V. The idea of it attaching itself to a host and having bizarre tentacle powers was my main reasoning, but that was still mostly speculative. However, if Kessler is in fact a hallucination, it may mean that Butcher is having "venom" style conversations with himself as a result of the parasite. Note that Kessler is trying to maneuver a more despicable and violent side of Butcher, a sort of "Bully Maguire" dynamic. It wouldn't be the first hallucination Butcher has had either since his contracting the virus.
... why are people equating Temp V to supe virus .... he wouldn't have been exposed to the virus for as long as he had hallucinations, which was from TEMP V damage /mutations, made worse by taking real V. Did any of you bots watch the show

Episode was fire AF but Tek Knight could've been used to investigate the whole ordeal with the leak but seems like he got another mission from Sage.
Most likely scenario is that Sister Sage already knew that A-Train was the leak and her showing Tek Knight the notebook was her telling him that it was A-Train and not to let anyone know yet just in case he figures it out, hence her "hush" gesture. Why? Whatever Sage is cooking up or plotting in the future involves A-Train. My best guess, since Sage plans everything long term, she's most likely saving the "reveal" of A-Train of being the leak and weaponizing it at the proper moment.

Mmm. Nope. He chopped a man's leg off and told him his prosthetic would be made in time for him being forced to make Butcher more virus that kills Supes indiscriminately. The whole series we've begun to see Supes worth keeping alive, so unless they figure out a non-lethal way of reversing V, killing them all in succession would be something of nightmares, kimiko, starlight, even butcher himself has V in his body, and who knows who else by the time this is cooked up. I promise you for what butcher is supposed to be, this is a turn for the worse on his part. Butcher's decision was betrayal for the selfish goal of killing all supes blindly. Which could also go wrong like it literally did in the newest episode. Kimiko said it's not about the V that makes someone bad, it's the person using it. Are you missing the point of entire plot lines lol
