Emma's powers don't actually require that she eat or purge. That's just a mental barrier that she developed from her mom's abuse. The scene where she shrunk when she was sad just proves that. Her subconscious shrunk her because she felt small after the way Sam belittled her. If she can get over her self image hangups then she'll have full conscience control of her powers.
This season really showed us how these young peoples powers are still evolving and they are still discovering their limits. Cant wait to see how Emmas power will develop. Im sure she will eventually grow or shrink by choice.
I like how Kate was made to be mixed with Professor X’s ability to control people’s minds with Magneto’s ideology of “we’re better than these humans” which makes her extremely dangerous
If her powers can be controlled emotionally she gonna be like a hulk for this series. Once she lets out all his anger she probably gonna be unstoppable and gigantic
@@mavrickfaust2751 Bro. He's not talking about racism. Are you serious? He's referring to Homelander's belief that supes are superior. Of course he'll side with Cate.
Im not gonna lie, when I saw homelander drop in i felt relief and thought “oh finally he will stop them” then that shit happened 😂 I completely forgot how he is the worst of them all, its been too long without the boys
I couldn't stop laughing at his arrival. I watched Peacemaker just before Gen V and Superman + the Justice League make a joke cameo at the end of that show. I briefly had a brain fart and thought Superman was there to save the day, but was thoroughly amused when it was Homelander who we all know was going to make a messed up situation a whole lot worse.
Emma actually would have like empathetic size manipulation. Notice how when she's sad or when she's purging (she hates herself while purging) she gets smaller. When she feeling negatively she gets smaller. When she was eating all that spaghetti to get large, it probably made her feel empowered and good about herself, hence why she got larger. I think her powers are emotional rather than her depending on purging or eating.
That detail about Andre having his phone and Emma having a smoothie is really interesting.. Like its clearly intentional, I think they're in a safe facility to protect them rather than a prison. Also its likely a device to keep them out of season 4. Even if the room has no access to the internet/outside world, why does he have it on him?
Maybe the phone is for him to contact his Dad from the same building. Since his Dad is also out of commission in a hospital. And not only do they look relaxed, there is also only 2 beds for 4 ppl. So I don't think they are being kept there long term. Compared to the woods and Sage grove this place also looks a lot cleaner and brighter.
@@MissBabyNe Oh I'm sure the phone is there for a reason.. But just having that phone tells me that they're there by choice rather than being locked up.
Gotta say I was shocked at the length of the episode but they filled it up with so much good stuff! That Homelander ending was amazing! Cannot wait for The Boys S4! This show as a huge W for Amazon!
I felt sorry for her after finding out about her family's demise on the plane..however she treated people like lab rats and was planning on commiting genocide. I didn't want her dead though, but her plan had to be stopped..but this plan is being altered by Victoria...so who knows what she plans to do with that virus, and the only person that could replicate it is now dead...
Homelander showing up when and how he did was absolutely perfect for this show. It was the perfect moment to bring him in and rebalance what we had just seen. Can't wait for next season and S4 of the Boys
Inside Andres file that says that you can only lift a maximum of 13 tons, so it makes sense that when he uses his abilities to that level he may then creating much larger brain tears. By comparison when he's only lightly using his abilities, those tears may be smaller and not as noticeable.
I think it's best to say that this is the best comic book adaptation to television we've seen. There's no way the masses view Marvel or DC the same again. The boys and GEN V series are at the forefront after this.
That's because they don't play it safe for money. They have a lot more freedom to play with complex and sophisticated ideas while being over the top gorey fun aimed at adults.
This is genuinely one of the best episodes of television I’ve ever seen, and I’m SO relieved that Marie, Jordan, and Emma made it out alive 😭 freaking out about what could happen next but at least they’re safe for now 😀
Agreed! Like when I saw Homelander laser beam them and followed by the news cut my heart sank, I thought Homelander murdered all of them. Thank God! I also like how Gen V kinda helps The Boys out of the corner they wrote themselves into last season. Marie is shown to be a powerful Supe and the virus finally adds actual leverage against Supes. Godolkin's research is also gonna help them fight without using that compound from last season.
@@ajwaddanwarr3409 dude right?? That slow-motion long shot of Jordan walking towards Marie before it showed Cate nearly gave me a panic attack like?? And then Homelander showing up-I went from really excited to realllyyyy nervous; it’s still infuriating how they’re painted as the villains how while Cate and Sam are seen as the heroes 🙄 but very true! I hope there’s a crossover between Gen V and season 4 of The Boys, but if that does happen, it makes me wonder what’ll happen in season 2 of Gen V? But I do love that the humans now have a way to fight back against the supes like what is Neumann planning?? Also Marie being one of the most powerful supes just feels so right-like she could level against Homelander and that feels SO cool to say!!
I like how there are so many "main" charectars in the Boyz now. They obviously have the Boyz, Homelander, Neumann and GenV characters as well now. They have so much to work with
I can’t lie this show was damn near perfect I was hesitant when first heard about it and even the first trailer I wasn’t on board but this show was amazing can’t wait for the boys next season
Polarity wasn’t apologizing because of the virus in the woods. Andre never found out about that this season (maybe while he was locked up with Marie unconscious at the end). Our crew only found out at Shetty’s house and Andre wasn’t there and no one told him over the phone.
Polarity knows about a "virus" because that's what The Woods are for. Knowing how the Supes tick and a way for Vought to control them. The virus wasn't about getting them sick or killing them. Although getting sick is one way for them to control them by cutting off their powers. It was still trial and error.
@@db5094 No he didn't, he just fucked up the rescue. The terrorist shot the pilot when Maive and him busted into the cabin, he unintentionally screwed up the controls by lasering the terrorist. At the end of it all he just sees the opportunity and use the flight crash as an excuse to get supes into the military.
@@db5094i don’t think he purposely lasered the controls, but after he did, he definitely figured he could let everyone die to push for supes in the military like you said
Not smaller by crying, she shrunk by feeling small emotionally. Im sure if someone made her feel larger than life emotionally she could become big. A little pep talk at a crucial time could turn her into a giant i bet
agree, think the purging thing was conditioning by her mom to induce it, like training wheels for her power, she'll get more control over time like the other supes also she was getting that big ego boost at the party too and voila big emma
There was a hint of this actually happening after she saved sam. She said that she mightve actually eaten some of the security guys brain and grew because of that, but she actually grew because of the nice things she got to hear from sam
Golden Boy could have fixed a lot of this in time if he didn't kill himself. Wonder if Cate told him directly to off himself? Just saying it will be a good arc to get Sam to turn on Cate eventually.
I'm sure she did, remember what she said to Andrea, I don't want you to end up like your dad. Meaning she can hurt him if he decides to side against her
Marie survived Homelanders heat vision because she has physical healing abilities. When she cuts her palms with her knife the wounds in her palm heal naturally. Marie doesn't feel any pain when her blood comes out of her hands/palms.. She is a blood bender. She can control people's blood. She can stop someone's Heart from beating or stop someone's Hearts from pumping blood. I love that scene/part where Marie stopped the Heart of the lady who was trying to Kill Jordan with her lazer eyes. The lady was using her heat vision on Jordan and then Marie destroyed the lady's Heart. That shows how powerful Marie is.. I think Homelander should watch out for Marie.. because Marie has was able to defeat Translucent's son and also destroyed Cates hands. Marie is powerful. Marie is very powerful and Blood benders are very dangerous people. In Avatar ( last Airbender ) the cartoon.. some blood benders were able to defeat Avatar Korra and Avatar Aang. Blood bending is a very serious superpower.
Nah homelander can control how hot his lasers are. She’s only alive because homelander wants her alive. It’s like he said, “do you like killing your own kind?”
6:33, It’s a minor detail, but they refer to Andre’s power as “Magnetic Telepathy” when it should be “Magnetic Telekinesis”, likely a simple production error but also a possible display of Vought’s incompetence when handling their supes, 5:06, as they don’t even fully understand their biology with Compound V’s often creating various kinds of unpredictable conditions and other random effects in its subjects.
Actually I feel like it might literally be magnetic telepathy in the sense that he can feel magnetic fields and maybe even interact with electrons in metals
Let's goo Theory - Stan Edgar heading a black ops situation and has hidden the 4 somewhere underground and off the books to protect them and use them against Homelander Cate and that boy (Luke's brother) - become part of the 7 Marie - really discovers she can mess people uppppp with her powers and upgrades. Andre - if there's ever a supe cure this guy is gonna take it and trick Cate into taking it and tap out go off grid with her. Thanks for the vid
What insane finale that was hilarious they called homelander to save them ,and he sides with the supes that wanted to murder them amazing next season of the boy is going to be crazy cant wait to see how they tied all this together.
The room the 4 protagonists are placed in is called an oubliette. It's a room with no doors or windows and the only way out is through the ceiling. It was designed for people who are thrown down there to be forgotten.
I can’t believe nobody has gotten Emma’s powers right. She has to FEEL small. She purges because her mom has made her self-conscious about her weight so she feels lesser about herself when she does it. Sam told her she’s not a hero and broke up with her just when she was starting to gain confidence about it. Her size is directly related to how she feels about herself. When she got huge she literally ate like 1 plate of spaghetti - not any crazy amount of food.
Would be dope if we got to see a supe civil war, one side wants to destroy the humans and become the dominant species while the other wants to protect them. Like Captain America Civil War, but cities actually get destroyed and people die.
Sam radicalization felt rushed. Emma was the first person that he truly liked and he follows Cate, the same person that made his brother forget about him. Makes no sense
Anyone else feel like this episode was anticlimactic and short?? It was only 30 something minutes give or take. At least we got to see butcher and a big battle in the boyz so that was lit. Welp time to wait months for the boyz season 4 and probably a year or so for the next Gen V season.
@@naturistfred ehh acting their asses off in this episode? I think not. It was mainly just fighting. Also sam completely flipping the script on Emma was straight bananas lol. I understand being tortured for years and hating humans. But she literally saved you from the woods, and stopped you from becoming a murderer. And they shared special and intimate moments. But I did like the scene where he was arguing with his brother and had cate make him feel nothing. The fighting was cool, even though it was short as hell tbh. I love Marie and Jordan relationship! Marie blowing up Cate’s hand was not expected!! Props for that one as well. They really didn’t give us much with Andre and his dad nor Andre and cate lol. It just seemed very rushed and like the whole episode was bouncing all over the place. I liked the episode still, don’t get me wrong. Seeing Homelander at the end was definitely unexpected as well, his first line back and he says some nut shit 😭. But idk the episode could’ve just been so SO much better and longer. 8/10 for the finale! Series was definitely 10/10!!!
I love this show so much. I honestly thought it built up from the initial episodes. Usually the pilot or first episode is the best. This show kept getting better for me.
I think this is still all a part of the Dean's plan to make supers hated by the general public, only to have several of the ones Kate released be contagious. I also think dying was a part of her plan, but that's only because I felt that, last episode, the scene of "One more push" didn't get paid off
@@db5094 yeah and even if they did escape the virus isnt airborne, it can only be spread if like their blood or spit got into another supe and i doubt anyone would go anywhere near the sick ones
That was insane! Fantastic finale. Gen V really delivered this entire season. No spoilers...But it's funny how quickly you forget what universe you're in. This ain't yo grandma's superhero comic😂.
I took it more like Emma's power is controlled by her feelings AND food. She shrinks when she throws up, and feels bad about herself because of it. Maybe that's how she first noticed her powers in puberty. The reason she shrinks now is because she has never felt that kind of hurt, she has never before felt for someone like she feels about Sam. It also works with earlier in the season when her mom thinks she isn't her usual size when thet meet, meeting her mom makes her shrink a bit too. But also sad if she can only grow when she eats, is food the only thing ever to bring her happiness?
Not gonna lie; I sorta expected them (the gen) to die, but it was far off on my list of possibilities. It wasn’t until they were shown in a room with no doors that this probability was wrong. Personally, I hate how stereotypical Magento Cate became. Getting her arm destroyed was too good for her. I also don’t get how they got Emma; I feel like Sam can still be saved; he just has to remember what Cate did, and how it’s her fault Luke died (her powers must’ve made him unstable enough to commit suicide, since they claim he was never that kind of person to do that).
@@mero7731 She should’ve gotten what she deserved, she DOUBLE betrays them. She’s gonna die next season without a redemption arc. You know why no redemption? Because you know what they say: Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. They hated her but gave her the chance to redeem herself, and she AGAIN betrayed them. 🤦♂️. What did Luke and Andre ever see in her? She was not worth ruining the bromance.
Since Shetty suicide in episode 7, I thought it was all a Cate illusion/mental control, like in episode 5/6. The wonky effect from Homelander laser, the twist in his theme, the cut of Marie almost exploting to being kidnapped in a unknown room. Cate saying to Shetty that she believed her before making her confess. The madness of the situation...
I suspected the same thing. Or did the writers just want to bait us into wondering whether or not the events of the finale were real, or an illusion? Also it could have been that the writers changed their mind and decided not to go with the illusion plotline for the finale 🤔
I started to wonder if it really was when Jordan and Marie were looking at each other and moving closer with nice piano music, all while people were screaming in the background
I have watched a few videos on this recap and I am a little surprised that not a single one of the creators that covered this episode mentioned the absolute hypocrisy of Homelander. He is a killer of supes who gets angry if someone hurts his kind of supe. Yes, he wants to kill Starlight, but he never goes all the way because not only she outsmart him at all turns she meets his criteria for the perfect supe. Homelander could give two shits that Marie blew off Cates arm except how dare someone make an white angel imperfect. That ending very much reminded me of the movie Brazil and the kids are actually trapped in Cate/Marie's mind again and are lying in a coma where Butcher will find them. The reason I think this is if you look in the background, Emma is drinking a smoothie, and all I could think is, "Where the hell did she get that?" Which made me consider the possibility she is now comfortable with food and no longer sees it as a crutch IN HER MIND. Which means the room they are in isnt real. This is further shown by Marie noticing there are no doors. Also why would Emma be there at all. Not only did she do NOTHING wrong she was nowhere near the action. However, Marie found friends so her comfort would be in her mind which raises the possibility Cate trapped everyone in Marie's mind.
@@jebcar9618 Yes, they did but they did not earn it. She wasn't there and one can only assume how they added her to the group. Sam? Maybe. But it was a short episode that could have been longer and with more clean up.
@dariushmanuchehri2846 Yes he does but it is what he says that lends credence to my point. He threatens A-Train and kills Black Noir, Drummer Boy, and destroys the blind / deaf supe because he wants a Master Race of Supes.
We know Homelander was raised in a lab, so he probably did not know about The Woods. I think he agreed with Cate and that why he made her the hero of GodU
No, he wants to push a narrative and let chaos purge. He knows who really was the issue when the massacre occurred but chose to throw the real heroes in some random isolated cell. Psycho is the new hero. Cate, Sam and Homelander are gonna be a problem. The Deep can go to hell. A-train...well..he needs to pump his brakes. 🤭
@@kauswekazilimani3736 he doesn't care about anyone. He will slaughter humans and supes if he wants. He wants to be worshipped by everyone. He's beyond narcissism.
ik its so sad im pretty sure i saw something that the they were gonna kill off his character early on next season and im hella sad over it he was easily my favorite and major potential and honestly kinda a waste to get rid of him
@@DaltonM1967 supposedly they changed to kill off his character Because he was supposed to be in the series for a while but they didn’t wanna rehire and he cast was way too close with production to the point they delayed the seasons
The season finale - kind of needed a double episode to explore the Homelander end of it - but it was still epic. Stanley Edgar, I see him playing a role and helping free Marie, Jordan, Emma, Andre. I don't think it would fit the show if Marie could just heal brain damage, and anyway the doctor says it's tears in brain tissue, not blood vessels.
@@Adventist1997 Welll, it's magic, so anything could happen, but the show has been careful at having some boundaries to power. Even Homelander could not land the plane on his own. It would be too much of a good thing for the Boys universe if she could magically heal any injury whatsoever, including brain tissue damage. Having a built-in tragic arc for Andre hits harder - every time he uses his power he knows he is killing himself
So I think that Emma's power has to be triggered by extreme emotions, but I also feel like it might be an xmen type thing where emotional issues trigger powers when untrained. I can see Emma having different control of her abilities as she learns more. She wouldnt change size significantly from standard positive or negative emotions because she's used to those, it seems like extremes but hopefully it's growing pains (but probably not, when it comes to compound V).
What I liked was the characters getting micro tears in the brain from using their powers makes sense if they had a regular body without healing power the strength of a power like polarity would eventually be too much for a regular human body.
The revelation is that Emma's *emotions* are what dictate when she shrinks or grows, NOT her eating habits. Her binging/purging simply create the emotions that lead to her physical changes. It was a powerful revelation, and I'm surprised you would totally miss that.
my theory on Emma's powers is that for her to get small, she has to feel small, and to get big, she has to feel big. It kinda makes sense since her mother has always been so strict about what Emma eats and how much she eats, so that trauma might have made it so that purging makes Emma feel small, and over eating makes her feel big. Another reason as to why I believe this is because when she realizes that she shrunk while she was crying (after Sam said some really hurtful things that would obviously make her feel small), she was surprised, even though she has cried before, hinting that just simply crying or being sad hasn't had this effect on her power before
I believe that Butcher will die at the hand of Homelander but when he kills him he does it up close...like a punch through his stomach or something of the sorts. When its all said and done, Butcher looks at Homelander with a painful expression but starts to grin maniaclly at Homelander. Butcher keeps smiling at him an then he tells him that he better put on the tea kettle, 'cause it looks like he'll catch a "cold". This is where we found out that Butcher had ingested the supes virus before having a battle with Homelander.
Butcher killed the one who could read minds, homelands definitely killed a lot of supes. Dudes just insane.. I like how when he killed black Nior and he got mad at A train for killing the racist supe, you could see A trains visible confusion and anger as he looks at Niors empty mask and homelander genuinely just indulging in his own way of thinking
It felt like a cop-out to be honest. But it did make sense for Homelander to side with Cate since he thinks Supes are superior. I don't know why the gang didn't see that coming.
@@MENACE-km6bdi mean to be fair i dont think they have had much time to find out about the ideology that homelander stands by and i feel like they are just trying to go to anyone from vought for help they also have a season 2 so maybe things willbe fixed then
When they started introducing the head popper before revealing it was Newman, I was assuming the power had to do with controlling liquid, not specifically blood, but the power allows the control of the blood aa well. Mostly because of how it pops, kind of like how your bloods suppose to boil inspect and your head probably pop, it didn't look like and explosion from the inside. Anyway, even if Homelander is somehow tougher than any other supe like not only is his skin super tough and impenetrable that if you try to pop his head, you can't because his skin is much tougher, and even if you can shrink and phase through his skin, and take a tiny scalpel you can't make a cut to any part of his internal organs, or blood vessels or muscles, therefore not being able to pop him internally either, I still think controlling the blood can kill him. I mean he has erection and all so he has blood, it works in his system, even if they can't really do damage, they can restrict the flow of blood to his brain and drain all the blood from his brain by redirecting it to the other parts of his body, or just give him a heart attack. I think the problem isn't so much if the power is powerful enough to take him down, but the circumstance allows them enough time to do that before homeland gets them. For one, you can see that controlling the blood flow internally like that takes concentration, and skill. because when Marie tried to stop cate, she either panic or because cate's hand was so close, she was desperate, so she popped her entire forearm, I doubt she wanted it that way, but slowing her down with more precise control is too slow in that situation and he just had to stop her at that moment and her focus was on that hand not touching Jordan. So if they were faced with homeland, I'm sure either one is powerful enough, but if homelander sees them first, they'd probably be dead first if he already knew what they can do. And even if they see each other coming, technically the girl would be able to take him down first but then he has those laser from his eyes. Even though we just saw in the episode that Marie can somehow survive the blast, probably the way stormfront did. Im assuming there are different levels of power to those laser eyes, because Ryan managed to cut storm front in one pass, so I guess if he wanted to homeland could still kill Marie or Victoria with zap. Also as far as the virus go, and how its going to be THE weapon against supers whether by newman or the boys, i have a feeling this is where and mari e and newmans skill are going to be invaluable. Not only are they able to just control the blood, considering shes able to sense the compound v in the blood, im guessing with enough concentration and practice she might even be able to detect these viruses and cleanse supes infected by it and this saving them. Besides if shes able to pop someones head like newman do, she might also be anle to extract blood wothout first making a cut or from an existing open wound. I think with enough control shes able to use the blood to puncture through the skin to extract it without creating a large hole either. If shes able to do that she could mix those blood with some of the virus or even just other stuff and put it back into the body with that contaminated blood, or even just put someone elses contaminated bood in by making that few droplet into those daggers stab into the the tatget, it could even be smaller and not something. Theres so much potential to that power.
Stormfront was older than the other supes and she never had any negative effects on her brain for being a supe. Maybe it just runs in Andrew's family or family who had that health issue in their genes even before becoming supes.
@@xczechr it's weird because some supes are (or at least look) older, but Stormfront hasn't aged a bit since nazi germany. Some may age differently or its just a plot hole. Because if everyone aged like Stormfront there would have been way more supes from her time still looking young.
I think it's more just like an unstable mutation kind of thing, a flaw of individual imperfect supes, as opposed to a thing where all Supes get sick from using their powers. Keep in mind that Compound V has unpredictable results, you have no idea what power someone is going to get. It makes sense not all supes would come out flawless.
Im very sad about the passing of Chance Perdomo. This changes so much for the next season of Gen V. He was going to play a huge part in the show next season and even the Boys universe. I dont know if they should recast him or what but its a tragedy. What do you guys think?
I wonder if Marie and the gang will appear in The Boys season 4? Also, with all that blood after the sups in The Woods got out, if any of them were infected that infection is gonna spread. When Jordan was about to get offed by one of them and Marie took them out...he was awfully close. Then again...they aren't showing any symptoms in the hospital, so maybe they are ok.
The writing across this series really felt all over the place, particularly in the final episode. Too often characters seemed to take actions for the sake of the plot that did not gel with their character.
Crazy Theory… But we actually seen the one thing that can for sure take out Homelander, it’s the virus just imagine a scene where homelander is about to go ona rampage and suddenly he gets sick for the first time that would be crazy, this is definitely not the last time we’ll hear or see bout the virus, If butcher gets his hands on it, it’s game over
I love Gen V but I just wish the Godolkin or w.e the University is called was set up better. For the Crimefighting school, there should have been mini schools within it for like Support, Healing, etc. Emma's powers (which I LOVE), would be best used for support/espionage missions like how she found Golden Boy's brother. THAT is a better use of her talents than going the social media route. Jordan is the same way; he could be used for espionage missions. Marie's powers are more versatile because she can easily be spread around for different things depending on what she has to do. Her powers are DANGEROUS and I'm pretty sure THAT'S why Homelander is intrigued by her.
There wouldn’t be a reason for that because they aren’t really trying to make Superheroes there. They don’t even teach them CPR. The focus is on branding and obviously acting because that’s how Vought makes money
I think that the homelander trial will end with him saying "How can I even be convicted. What can you even do to stop me? Kryptonite? You are powerless without me."
The head popper can use Marie to infect other sups, just using infected blood from the virus, and Homeland can use Kate to make the jury vote not guilty. Now I see starlight and kico or whatever her name is helping homelander because the virus can also kill them.
So Emma’s powers are triggered by her feel “small” or low, but how come she didn’t shrink when everyone found out about her purging and bullied her? Was it because when Sam said those things it hurt worse and she was heartbroken?
Well I don't think she paid as much attention to that clout chaser the same way as Sam. Someone actually came to her face and said some very hurtful things, and that person turned out to be Sam. Hope she dumps him. He was a complete jackass, and him having no emotions isn't making it better! Season 4 is gonna be WAR! Mark my words!
Spoilers alert if you didn't know: I'm glad they're still alive. I saw another video where Homelander shot his heat vision at Marie, and I was like "WHAT?!" Since she and the other students are like THE heroes everyone needs.
I mean... yeah ok..., but seriously tho..., as long as Homelander is still over power, Whatever happens to them, it really doesn't matter, out of the many reasons... Homelander is alwalys number 1 why people watch this.. and soldier boy too
I believe Ashley is the one keeping all of them in that white room. She is protecting them from Homelander. Homelander would never keep all of them in one room with special treatments. Homelander won't allow them to stay together. He knows they're powerful together as a team. Homelander would have separated them if he knew about it. So if they are all together in that room then i guess Ashley is keeping them there to protect them from Homelander
@@justoneweek6983 yeah that's why she told A-Train she can't leave with him because she is the only person who can free the Gen V guys from that secret room. She has her own plans too
Im sad Chance Perdomo died so young, I don’t care we won’t get Andre’s plot play out, just feel bad for this young guy having died. Don’t think I’ll be able to re watch Gen V
Homelander probably knew about the woods or got the know about it. When he realized what Kate was doing and when he saw a chance he did side with her or better allowed her to live and follow him
The interpretation I had on Emma being small is that her powers are based on how she “feels”. She shrugs off most criticisms and judgment from others by projecting a stronger “i dont even care” attitude at times but after Sam destroyed her she truly FELT small in that moment and it triggered her powers. I think Emma will end up developing a different method for activating her powers that’s gonna have to do with her feelings of self worth. It would be a good redemption for her to learn she doesn’t have to binge/purge to transform and will be able to control her powers at will instead.
Emma's powers are emotion driven ! When she's feeling down, sad, little etc she shrinks but when she's feeling more positive, happy, proud etc she gets big. I'm so excited for her new discovery and can't wait to see it play out on screen.
Supes are generally more durable than humans so it's not too shocking though it would show she's likely quite durable by supe standards. Butcher was also able to survive one when on Temp V.
He can control how intense his lasers are. He obviously didn't want to kill her. He blasted storm front with a low-powered laser. His son, who didn't know how to control his powers, fried stormfront to hell with a fully charged laser.
@@db5094 Laser are literally concentrated light though luls, you can't get anything sharper than that. If it's a large explosion or something blunt with big surface area sure, but no.
During the whole season of Gen V I was expecting to see Cindy the bald girl from The Boys season 2..... Now I'm thinking where the hell has she gone and if she'll ever return or not.
Tbh that ending was kinda ass. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense? Like yeah you freed the kids from woods but why are they indiscriminately killing everyone? Did she explicitly give them that command? Why aren’t they trying to run away and hide? Ashley called homelander in but she also called Marie to save them… homelander targeting her after being a supposed high profile trial during the season looks so forced. I really don’t get the sam thing either he was about ready to kill cate for constantly manipulating her brother which eventually led To his suicide but was stopped by the gang. But now he works with Kate to kill people because he went to a rally ? Idk story telling is starting to lose me
I felt like the ending wasn't supposed make sense i have a theory that shetty is still alive and ever since cate stop taking her pills she had the ability to look at people and make them do stuff so when the gang all came to the room she manipulated them. It is highlighted by the voices in her head the gang doesn't trust her in this scene. also i think she was going to undo it from andre in the lat episode however unlike shetty he didn't grab his hand however in the previous scene shetty showed her trust in kate and it constantly been highlighted that none in the gang trust kate except shetty thats why I believe she not dead the boys usually has consistent writing but whenever kate shows up there is plot holes when watching the show we just overlook it like why did kate kill shetty right after crying her heart out. It shown throughout her kates life kate character constantly seeks trust from people and I believe she is still longing for it.
I am pretty sure the bit that separates Marie is that her powers are not given to her by compound V. They are naturally aquired... which should make her immune to the virus because it is designed to attack mutation caused by compound V. This would be why her ability is so interesting to the scientist.
Damn! This reminds me of Game of Thrones episode 1 all over again. What a twist!! Love where they are going with this. Such a great opener to The Boys.
@SmileAway21i think Newman can just pop up with the "These are vials chemically engineered to kill a supe. A result of supe experimentation at a secret vought facility." And that would be enough.
@SmileAway21 I think they will have to watch both, otherwise how are they going to wonder how Nueman got her hands on the virus that can kill supes? That happened on Gen V. Not the Original show.
Now for Emma to wipe my memory so I can watch the season again. How do you think this will tie into The Boys Season 4?

Cate bruhh, Emma can grow up or shrink
It will be about the next generation of supes I would not be surprised if we see some gen v characters show up in the boys season 4
Emma's powers don't actually require that she eat or purge. That's just a mental barrier that she developed from her mom's abuse. The scene where she shrunk when she was sad just proves that. Her subconscious shrunk her because she felt small after the way Sam belittled her. If she can get over her self image hangups then she'll have full conscience control of her powers.
exactly
This season really showed us how these young peoples powers are still evolving and they are still discovering their limits. Cant wait to see how Emmas power will develop. Im sure she will eventually grow or shrink by choice.
Lmao, I think she shrunk from crying but that's a great explanation!

What if when Emma feels "small" emotionally, she shrinks. Her powers can be controlled emotionally? No need for food abuse

Hopefully we can get her feeling amazing and she can get 100 feet tall
I don’t c how she gonna b useful regardless
If her powers can be controlled emotionally she gonna be like a hulk for this series. Once she lets out all his anger she probably gonna be unstoppable and gigantic

Homelander calling Marie an animal was in no way a twist 😂. It is completely in line with his supremacist ideals.
He knew exactly what he was doing.
Homelander became the comic book ver in the last arc, he doesn't care about humans anymore

I think her powers are emotional rather than her depending on purging or eating.
ya you're right
That makes a lot more sense when you realise she would have traumatic emotions regarding eating because of her mother

Okay so I’m not the only one. I thought it may was a test Truman Show thing JUST for Marie to see how she functions. But probably not after last ep

Because he was supposed to be in the series for a while but they didn’t wanna rehire and he cast was way too close with production to the point they delayed the seasons
loved him in Sabrina
The season finale - kind of needed a double episode to explore the Homelander end of it - but it was still epic. Stanley Edgar, I see him playing a role and helping free Marie, Jordan, Emma, Andre. I don't think it would fit the show if Marie could just heal brain damage, and anyway the doctor says it's tears in brain tissue, not blood vessels.
She could potentially control blood in the brain to push the years closed. That isn't something she can't do.
@@Adventist1997that would be at a surgical level, i dont know if marie can do that

It feels so good seeing Homelander after a while
The revelation is that Emma's *emotions* are what dictate when she shrinks or grows, NOT her eating habits.
Another reason as to why I believe this is because when she realizes that she shrunk while she was crying (after Sam said some really hurtful things that would obviously make her feel small), she was surprised, even though she has cried before, hinting that just simply crying or being sad hasn't had this effect on her power before
i think emma was traumatized in the moment that’s why she shrank.
No more puking or eating to change your size Emma! Well done!
Damn you missed the best ‘Greg/Bob’ runner. “Okay, this is Greg”
Nah.
It will be the comic book ending since there is a new Black Noir and Obviously the Clone of Him
Man wasn’t homelander killing hella supes like that blind dude or the dude that could read minds
Homelander is an Hypocrite, there's no beyond explanation
Butcher killed the one who could read minds, homelands definitely killed a lot of supes. Dudes just insane.. I like how when he killed black Nior and he got mad at A train for killing the racist supe, you could see A trains visible confusion and anger as he looks at Niors empty mask and homelander genuinely just indulging in his own way of thinking
Homelander didnt kill any dude that read minds n neither did he kill the blind dude but yes he is still a hypocrite

It’s a shame we wont get to see Andre‘s storyline play out. I feel like he would‘ve gone through a huge character development arc
It is such bullshit that Marie, Jordan, Andre and Emma got fucked over in the end. That cliffhanger was unbearable.
It felt like a cop-out to be honest. But it did make sense for Homelander to side with Cate since he thinks Supes are superior. I don't know why the gang didn't see that coming.
@@MENACE-km6bdi mean to be fair i dont think they have had much time to find out about the ideology that homelander stands by and i feel like they are just trying to go to anyone from vought for help they also have a season 2 so maybe things willbe fixed then
I felt the same way however I think they will join butcher and the gang or Marie will rip the compound v out of Sam and cate making them normal
Are they not in the same place maeve was the global wellness rehabilitation centre?
That's what I thought too!
No, The door is in the ceiling, so somewhere underground
This also indicates that supes probably do not age normally.
The entrance of Homelander was.... chilling
Im very sad about the passing of Chance Perdomo. This changes so much for the next season of Gen V. He was going to play a huge part in the show next season and even the Boys universe. I dont know if they should recast him or what but its a tragedy. What do you guys think?
its a tragedy indeed... I read that they wont be recasting him
What is they use AI
I wonder if Marie and the gang will appear in The Boys season 4? Also, with all that blood after the sups in The Woods got out, if any of them were infected that infection is gonna spread. When Jordan was about to get offed by one of them and Marie took them out...he was awfully close. Then again...they aren't showing any symptoms in the hospital, so maybe they are ok.
The writing across this series really felt all over the place, particularly in the final episode.
Too often characters seemed to take actions for the sake of the plot that did not gel with their character.
Rest easy Andre 🙏
It's not a real school
I think that the homelander trial will end with him saying "How can I even be convicted. What can you even do to stop me? Kryptonite? You are powerless without me."
I am super interested to see everything Marie’s powers are capable of. She reminds me of Skarlet (I think that’s her name from mk11)
Skarlet ?
@@Ncamerony yes lol I couldn't remember her name thanks
@@Ncameronyshe’s from mortal Kombat. She’s a blood bender
Was it because when Sam said those things it hurt worse and she was heartbroken?
i think because this was an traumatic type of sadness, everyone is dying and the only person you love hates you.
Spoilers alert if you didn't know:
I'm glad they're still alive.
Homelander is alwalys number 1 why people watch this.. and soldier boy too
I would have been FUMING if they killed them after all that.
@@coolboss999 I'm glad they didn't die.
I truly believed they were gonna go that route for a moment, would've been dark af.
Perdomo died at the age of 27 in March as a result of a motorcycle accident. Rest in peace
I guess it made sense she said I want to stay here because she has to even though she could escape
This is a prime example of how live action actually outdoes its source print material, something Marvel studios should take notes from...
It would be a good redemption for her to learn she doesn’t have to binge/purge to transform and will be able to control her powers at will instead.
that ending tho 🔥
Emma's powers are emotion driven ! When she's feeling down, sad, little etc she shrinks but when she's feeling more positive, happy, proud etc she gets big. I'm so excited for her new discovery and can't wait to see it play out on screen.
Loved Marie's discovery of new abilities ❤
We'd think Homelander would save the day, or so we thought...
Marke surviving a laser blast from homelander is definitely a feat! That durability is strong!
Marie isn't durable at all, she regularly cuts herself with normal knives lmao
@@MMAisTHEbestSPORT08 Yeah with a knife, but her resistance is still high. Like, you can cut through things that have a very high resistance

Esperemos aparezca en la temp 4 o hasta podría aparecer en uno de los spinoffs ya confirmados
Same, when they first announced Gen V, when Season 2 aired, I expected that Cindy would be one of the loose ends that they would cover

Oh look, Emma is wearing the Infinity Stones as a necklace :)
I really don’t get the sam thing either he was about ready to kill cate for constantly manipulating her brother which eventually led
To his suicide but was stopped by the gang.
Man the way these shows play off the comics is amazing. I read the comics first and I like them more but the shows are amazing and just as good.
I think Jeff might be tek knights sidekick mainly cus tek knight was a iron man parody in the comics
I love the Boys but slept on Gen V until recently. I had no idea I'd like this as much as I do! It's flipping awesome! Can't wait for season 2!
Sam’s the new black noir? Or does noir just return more fucked up than before
Good call, HL could fake Noir’s death and just have Sam wear the suit
Esapxialku since Cate made him not “feel” anything, he’d be a great choice as black noir
I am pretty sure the bit that separates Marie is that her powers are not given to her by compound V. They are naturally aquired... which should make her immune to the virus because it is designed to attack mutation caused by compound V. This would be why her ability is so interesting to the scientist.
She was given compound V though everyone was except homelander
Damn! This reminds me of Game of Thrones episode 1 all over again. What a twist!!
Love where they are going with this. Such a great opener to The Boys.
Just here to say i DID notice the Wilhelm scream and got even more excited this time around lmaooo
What a great season finale,i never thought that gen v would be so greatly integrated with the boys universe in first season itself.l
@SmileAway21i think Newman can just pop up with the "These are vials chemically engineered to kill a supe. A result of supe experimentation at a secret vought facility." And that would be enough.
@SmileAway21ppl should just watch both shows then
@SmileAway21 I think they will have to watch both, otherwise how are they going to wonder how Nueman got her hands on the virus that can kill supes? That happened on Gen V. Not the Original show.
