That's what separates BTS from every group out there. Expect the unexpected and you will never be disappointed. The music video will make your head spin, seriously, you are not ready for it. So be sure you read the lyrics a couple of times before you watch it so that your attention doesn't have to be on the bottom of the screen. There is so much going on you won't want to miss it. Still can't figure out if you liked it or not yourself, and if you didn't it's ok. Not everyone likes everything, maybe except for ARMY.
I didn’t mind it at all for me was just different genre of dance than what I was doing from the boys, like you said expect the unexpected clean and tidy like always! But just different from what i was used to like I said I didn’t mind it, but I can’t wait for the music video

The mv is amazing but if you watch that one you should definitely watch the explanation video as well because Idol is one of their most iconic and symbolism filled mvs. Choose XCeleste's explanation (more band related) and/or DKDKTV's (more culturally focused).

This dance has influences from the South African Gwara Gwara and the Nigerian Shaku Shaku fused with elements of traditional Korean dance too which is why it's so unique and different for them :)

One of the most surreal experiences in my life (so far) was being in a stadium with 55,000 or 60,000 other people, all of us yelling/singing "YOU CAN'T STOP ME LOVIN' MYSELF!! Oh-oh-oh-oh!" I thought the building was going to come down! 😂 The mv for this is a real trip - definitely do the "explained by a Korean" video, too, because it's a total visual overload. I also really recommend the "Idol" performance for the Jimmy Fallon show, which they filmed in front of the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul during quarantine. 💜💜

It fits into Graham’s innovative and groundbreaking “contraction and release” approach to modern dance.

Yo! This is why I suggested Idol, the music and choreo is a mature BTS who had won billboard and were experimenting with pushing themselves, love it! @@DIMASWORLD you’ll find it easily and there’s lots of live versions of it but this one shows the dancers and stage for the MMA awards (Asian awards show they were asked to perform at) look how hard they go for a 6 minute performance not even at one of their own concerts. You’ll appreciate the cirque du soleil level perfectionism they put into everything they do, I think.

So i would suggest you do it like this for your BTS reactions ...
1.. official music video (if no official MV for the song then ask ARMY - we will know what you should watch)
2.. explanation video (usually the ones by Bookish Theories or DKDKTV are the best - again ARMY will guide you to the best one)
3.. dance practice
4.. live performance (Enjoy BTS More has best live performances with English subs)
You can do 1 longer video with all 4 or break it up into 2, eg. MV + explanation and dance practice + live perf

For idol in particular.... Might be fun to do both, but if you do, do the original MV first then the Nikki one at the end after the explanation, etc.
Most important is just to have fun with these reactions... don't stress too much, if you miss something in one video you can always check it out in another video.
bts does all types of music with different styles, you will not see them repeat themselves. they have dance, hip hop, edm, rock, rap or whatever comes to their minds musically. bts are the best dancers in the business and to sing while moving around so fast is mind blowing. yes watch the mv of 'idol and you can also watch the live on jimmy fallon of 'idol or the live 2018 mma 'idol performance. if you like dance videos, bts has practice videos for 90% of their songs. welcome again to the rabbit hole💜

This is different, but there are two constants with BTS: the outstanding excellence; they are ALWAYS unpredictable. They always got criticised for being idols: there's a perception that idols don't make their own music, or have artistic control, but BTS always did; and as they started to get attention in the West., folk said they were too westernized. So this song really says - I'm proud of what I do., and it's full of Korean elements. I agree with others : watch the MV, watch Explained by a Korean (or you have no chance!) And watch a live performance. This dance practice doesn't really show Idol properly at all, and it's too good to miss. Thanks for sharing.

I dont know how much BTS you have seen but you will come to realise that they produce many genres and styles of music, and all is 100% fine. Continue to react, and the live performances are always best, but MVs are OK too.
You named them all correctly! 🎉 Yes please to the MV. There is an excellent live performance for the award show MMA 2018 but there are 2 other performances for Fake Love and Airplane pt2 so worth checking those songs out first so you can just sit back and enjoy the performance.
If you watch the MV you will see that this song was made to show that they are always connected to their Korean roots. So what you see as rave steps are actually Korean steps of cultural dances.

Fun Fact.... at 3:28 of your reaction video the members are posed as Marvel superheroes, except for Jhope. Jin is the Hulk, Suga is The Black Panther, Jimin is Spiderman, V is Iron Man, RM is Captain America, Jungkook is Thor and Hobi is Anpanman who is a Japanese superhero. They have a song called Anpanman and you should watch one of their live performances if that song.

I am definitely ARMY, but Kpop have top level dancers I have ever seen. EXO-Kai, Shinee-Taemin, Straycats-Lee Know and many more. Their dance practice videos are very star quality. Seventeen, Ateez and MonstaX have great moments too. I love dance.

The MV is great. So much fun
This song was made because people were saying BTS was being to Americanized so the MV is all about their culture. I suggestion u react to the explanation video of idol along with the MV so you understand it more. Also people were saying most of all their music videos were just CGI so they said fuck it, and used a shit ton of it in the MV just to show they can use CGI to but mostly decide not to.

It would be good to react to the mv, which is a trip and a half. They packed it full of cultural references, but it’s mainly a knock back against very personal criticisms they each received. I won’t spoil it by listing stuff now… better to do that when you’ve actually seen the madness.

It's a mix of afro beats and Traditional Korean beats and dance moves, also use Korean dress and cultural mythical creatures. This is them saying you say we have become too westernized but we use both and you're not going to stop us loving ourselves and expressing ourselves the way we want just because you don't like what we do. It's kind of sticking two finger up at those muttering and complaining about them.

Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet but jin learned to dance from zero at age 20… and sing for that matter… Suga never wanted to dance but also started as a trainer at about 18-19 and RM likewise… Jin has always been the “weakest” dancer but his work ethic is amazing. bts’s worst dancer is better than many many other idols

Not really sure what you mean by "party vibe" other than the fact that it is an upbeat song but it's not a party song just to be a party song. Actually once again the lyrics on this are quite deep about not letting the haters put them In a box. Basically it doesn't matter what you call me, I am still me and I'm proud of that.

The song is another style of clapback at all the people talking crap about them -- they're too westernized, they're too Korean, they're ugly, they're pretty, etc etc.
Every frame of that video is a genius f-you to their haters and there are no accidental or unimportant symbols or actions during it. There's an explanation video for the cultural references by DKDKTV. But there are also several digs regarding personal attacks members have received in the past.
It is just another kind of mic drop when it's all said and done. :)
