My husband got me your painting as a Mother’s Day gift and we are displaying it in our game room. Our D&D buddies are FLOORED by its beauty and some of them even “found themselves” in the painting. I can’t wait to delve into my coloring page over the summer ❤ Thank you for compiling your videos like this. I missed a large amount of them during your journey and this way I can enjoy them during work.
Oh congrats! I was gonna try to get it for my nephew’s wedding. He and his fiancé met playing D&D. That was so ice of your hubby to get it for you! Much love 💕🐝💕
I love when you said “let your art be wonky - that’s what makes it art”. I was watching an urban sketching tutorial yesterday and was shocked when the artist said “yes, the building is leaning more than it is in real life, but I like it that way! I’ll leave it.” Sometimes what we think of as “mistakes” are just part of the art :)
i would watch and/or create a movie where that's the main character who goes on a quest as the wise mentor/parent figure for a wonderfully diverse group of less experienced characters, and they all have flaws that are worked on throughout the progression of the story. and with an amazing art style (or, like, a ton of art styles because that would be cool)
I dont want this to be cliche or sound stupid, but I do genuinely want to be like you when I grow up, having an entire room dedicated for art, and having SO much representation in that art. Your videos always inspire me to create :)
I want to thank you. I gave up on art because I kept over thinking what I was trying to create and couldn't get what was going on the paper to perfectly match what was in my head. Your video was inspiring, you showed and talked about how art doesn't have to be perfect, if you keep going your art can turn out better than what you imagined. Now I want to try again, thanks to you, Scott. Watching your picture come to life was amazing. Thank you for sharing your art and wisdom.
I like to think that the (definetly not you) orc character is the very successfull owner of the tavern. He has that sort of smile that he is just happy to have made a welcoming space for everyone to meet up and make good memories.
I love how respectfull and inclusive you are with drawing representation of all kinds of people! Fantasy should reflect real life and people in real life are diverse and unique :)
I'm still not even half way through watching it and I just have to say, this, everything, is just so beautiful. I know a lot of others have probably said this, but you're a great source of inspiration that is getting me more into art and the real beauty of it. Everything you have said so far has really resonated with me and brought some sort of comfort as well. I'm glad I came to this video.
As a physically disabled person and ambulatory wheelchair user, I teared up seeing you include a wheelchair user and that it wasn’t an afterthought. You put so much thought and care into the design of the wheelchair. I truly appreciate that you recognized a stranger touching someone’s wheelchair is not okay. Your instinct to be inclusive is so refreshing and is a big reason I adore you and your art🩷
When I hear “can I have wheelchair in a fantasy setting?” I found myself smiling I’m not physically disabled but I’m neurodivergent and hearing you say those words really made me feel seen thanks you!
Goblin is a bit tall but that’s a very tiny thing. I’m glad overall you didn’t draw her as just a green halfling. I really really love this painting and think the representation is amazing
My alone time to unwind at night is so important to me, tonight I just turned on this video cause I saw the short form content in bits and pieces and wanted to see the full through line(plus I love DnD so this was right up my alley), and I got the idea to draw alongside you and began inking a piece at the same time. I swear I’ve never felt so at peace. I love the insight you have on art, I love that it was virtually an art “play date” as you like to say, and I love the finished ink work on my character. Thanks for all that you do, you inspire me every day to be a better artist and human. 🖤🖤🖤
Thankyou for sharing this Scott. This is a wonderful resource for any aspiring artist. Full of wisdom and positivity that can only inspire true creativity. Well done and thankyou once again. ❤
I don't comment on really any videos, and am not much into D&D, but I am disabled and the representation with the mage in the wheelchair and the autistic centaur? The thought put into the dragonborne having their hand on the wheelchair? Absolutely amazing. The whole artwork is stunning and I loved watching the process, but the part that captivated me the most was the representation and positivity. 🫶

I saw another comment in which the person thought that the orc, that definitely isn’t Scott, was the tavern’s owner, so maybe he’s the tortle’s adoptive son, or something- This is just an idea or suggestion! I love your art, and this work, and just your whole vibe- or feel, Scott. You’re a huge inspiration to me, as a small artist, and I love your level of inclusiveness!
I LOVE THIS PAINTING!! Everything about it is amazing. I love the representation through all the characters, and I also love how each one feels like their own person, like they have lived lives before this painting. My favorite might be the goblin! I love how you created her with respect in mind, unlike a lot of other artists. Thank you, Scott for creating such amazing art and sharing it with the world!
I love this painting its literally so good! Ive been doing art for 4 months and im rly happy with my art right now, and seeing where i might be able to reach with so many more years really gives me motivation to keep going!

As a therian, your explanation was beautiful. It's simple but perfect. We don't think we're animals, apart of us is just so deeply connected that it's like our soul is that of one. You, Scott, are a lovely person.

Watching your videos about art and your process through everything is both helpful and very entertaining! You have a very soothing voice and it really helps me to calm down when I watch your videos. I know how much work you must put into the editing and recording set up and how many hours you put into both. I love longer videos like this. Ironically, during this video I was working on my own dnd-based fantasy world and it really is nice to have something to watch while doing it. Keep up the good work!
I’m currently working on a small campaign for my friends, and seeing all the different races and classes next to each other and seeing interact has been so helpful and the art is gorgeous too ❤
You can tell he's a good person because of his instinct to be inclusive; he doesn't judge the DnD classes and talks about them based on personality, and talks about their appearances as how they are instead of treating topics like they're taboo
This was an amazing video to have on the side while drawing digitally. I adore the diversity of the characters!! What I love about your videos is how you explain your process as if you are having a face-to-face conversation with the viewer, makes you feel the words you say if that makes sense, at least this is how i feel. Keep it up! :D
Wow, i love the line work and the colors in the background. I’m trying to make my watercolor paintings look more like they have a soul and just make the colors and brush strokes brighter and more prominent i guess and your art is such an inspiration
i'm listening to this while i'm working on a comic for a friend, and honestly there's something about your positivity and showing your mistakes just really helps keep me going. You're amazing dude, cant wait to see what comes next :3
It's such a great piece of art! I love how you reflected on each character for a while and brought them to life! I'm not really sure why but this picture really means something to me.
I really love your positivity, appreciation, and careful thought into diversity. You are such a pleasure to listen to, and the artwork seems to really represent you and these attitudes you have. Thank you for being you.
Scott, I really love ya. You're such a positive influence in the art community and your work really warms my heart in all the good ways. Your joy to draw diversity is really contagious!! I wanna get my pens and draw cool people like you do! Thank you so much. For being you, for inspiring others, for being such a beautiful person. Thank you.
video summary : silly guy teaches you about representation, wide variety and that mistakes are okay while you get mesmerized by art p.s. i'd really love to see you draw or atleast look at Humblewood races! For example a Jerbeen or Vulpin!
Scott throughout the 2 years I have been watching you have never failed making me laugh, as being in 6th grade I want to be a person like you when I grow up. Your versatility across every medium inspires me to try every way of art. And every watercolor video makes me want to also paint no matter when. I really love you videos and wanted to let you know
Tbh scott, you inspire me to make more art and improve my art skills and telling my self to stop worrying about the outcome, but to enjoy art. So i wanna say thank you~ I also love ur art works, they are amazing~ ❤

Thanks Scott Also that thumbnail is amazing! 😂
This is incredible, thank you so much for sharing your work process this way. One of my bff sent me this video to cheer me up since I'm not doing great at the moment, it worked beyond expectations. Thanks a lot, again !
i know i am late , but i just want to say that thanku scott for this amazing long video , i just fiinished an entire painting while i listened to you speaking , its just something its like i have a dad figure telling me its okay to be me and making mistakes and learning and growing , i am never so focused for such a long time but i was today !!! thanku so much for doing what u are doin and thanku for making me realize making mistakes are OKAY!!!
Scott, you ever use Hero Forge? It's a great tool for designing fantasy characters that's super easy to use. You can choose your character's race, clothing, weapons, pose, everything! I think it would help you out a ton with references for poses and clothing!
This is such a wonderful project! Even though I was not at the live streams, I thoroughly enjoy this walkthrough of your progress. Love your art and your insights on making art! I’m inspired to keep growing my art too. Thanks, Scott!
Hi Mr Sava! First I absolutely adore your videos, My art block flies off my head when I come across one of your shorts ( If you don't mind) Can you make a video talking about different types of inks for Lineart?
Absolutely love this piece, ambitious and turned out amazing. I'd say if you ever do a piece like this with so many figures a method you could employ to keep track of where everybody and to avoid them overlapping weirdly would be making another layer, to help visualize the space they take up, could be as simple as drawing a circle at their feet of how much space they'd take up. That way you can avoid missing legs and it might help with size, it can get hard to keep track with so foreground midground and background characters all being different sizes.
I just wanna say that I absolutely love your videos. Your art is beautiful and your voice is so clothing to listen to, it’s so calming and (idk if this sounds weird 😅 but) I’d often find myself falling asleep watching your videos, so thank you.
I love your art it always inspires me! It would be amazing to see a character that identified demigirl (she/they) someday, it feels like we are under represented. I don't know how you could show that and ofc only if you feel inspired by that idea. Thank you for reminding me that making art is about having fun and that everyone makes mistakes
This was so cool to watch. It really encouraged me to get away from digital art and get back to traditional arts. I never liked Watercolors but this video is encouraging me to get co back and try again. This seriously a great piece.
This video was just absolutely amazing in every way! As someone who is disabled and queer seeing representation in art is always so amazing. This also finally gave me the confidence to start my larger watercolor drawing with 25 character, that I have been wanting to but to scared to start for around a year now. Your advice and creativity is so amazing and this turned out stunning!
This is absolutely beautiful and stunning and I love all these characters with there own characteristics (Would've loved to see a a warforged and firbolg but I digress)
I think that it would be cool if the artificer made the mage's wheelchair. It just seems like something a guild member would do for do another! I also absolutely love this piece, every time you talked about a new character I would do a little happy dance because I've always been so passionate about fantasy and all that. It just put me in my happy place. I also appreciate all the commentary, it's really comforting somehow to know that artists you admire deal with the same problems as you do. Anyway, keep up the good work! :D
Hey there! I really love your content! Your musings on paper choice reminded me of my apprenticeship as a technical designer. Back then I used transparent paper. It's super smooth and you could scratch off ink with a razor blade without damaging the paper (when careful). It's so smooth, you had to look really closely to distinguish between printed and hand-drawn. But I guess it's horrible for water colors. 😅
Obsessed with the level of representation in this!! Didn’t expect to see so much diversity and it’s so rare that therians get included in this kinda stuff :) very skilled artist great work
the centaur is so cool??? like. i've literally never seen anyone represent how alot of people who are on the spectrum have issues with over or understimulation and seeing a character with like. auditory processing issues is so cool oh my god they're just like me fr was so giddy to see the transmasc character too!! literally never see them and most of the time they tend to just be. white and more often than not passing, having a trans poc as a character is so cool aaaaaaa
i stopped drawing after my tics got worse and my hands got shakier, but then i started seeing your shorts and realized how much i missed art. i still can’t draw the same, my hands just shake so much that i struggle to enjoy the process, but i still missed it. then i saw you playing around with crayons and markers and decided on a whim to buy cheap coloring books and markers and started coloring. it’s hard to stay in the lines and they’re streaky and i have to put a sheet of paper under the page since it bleeds but im doing art and i love it so thank you
This was such a lovely and inspiring journey. I've been having a hard time getting back into drawing since I've been through stressful circumstances and my creative brain and will just shuts down. I feel most people vent out their hardships into their art, but I seem to be unable to do so, and it's excruciating. But I've always wanted to make a big splash piece with all my characters and your workflow certainly clicked with me! And, imagine my surprise when you started drawing Kiwi and I realized I was watching a video by the author of Dreamland Chronicles and it just brought me back to the days I fervently followed the webcomic, and how you started it for your twin boys. And got the thought that maybe it's time I got my stories out of my head, if anything to one day be able to share them with my child... so, thank you very much, Scott ^^!
ive been watching this on and off when i need a little bit of inspiration or a break from the drawings ive been doing and its been an absolute pleasure ^_^ it came out so good!!!!
as a digital artist your videos always make me want to paint. more generally, they inspire me to get better at drawing and try things that i'm not good at :) i love your videos

Scott, I love your art, I love your attitude, just your whole vibe and I'm so glad you're creating such a beautiful, diverse safe space for everyone💛
Thank you.
Wow, thank you!
This is absolutely incredible! Thank you for sharing the journey of thos painting with us 💛✨
This idea is SO cool! This has inspired me to continue drawing my family’s dnd characters.
I lovedd watching the guild lives :D it's sooo much fun following a big project like that! Turned out amazing! thank you
video summary : silly guy teaches you about representation, wide variety and that mistakes are okay while you get mesmerized by art
p.s. i'd really love to see you draw or atleast look at Humblewood races! For example a Jerbeen or Vulpin!
YESSS I’ve been waiting for this. sitting down with a hot cuppa and watching this will be my hobby for the next 3 business days
Thank you for making it one video! Its easier for me to see it all than in separate videos. I love this piece and you inspire me so much!
Love the video so much! The representation is delicious!!
48:43 In one of my D&D campaigns we have a Kenku named... Stabby!
Correction his full name is
"Hey who stabbed that guy?"
But we call them Stabby haha
You should totally do Mumford and sons as a painting! I love your art!
I love this so much. Thank you for showing your process. Thank you for spreading love.
Beautiful, this is stunning and so inspiring- I love the positivity and line art!! Awesomely done!💖
Today I found your long form videos and I’m binging ALL of them while I do my art journal for school 😆✨
thank you Scott!✨
Tell me why I cried multiple times during this video at all of the positive representation and kind words. Thank you for letting everyone see themselves in your work it really does matter!
D&D has been my life for the past 4 years, it helped me though Covid and it’s helped me meet new people and now It is currently my job to teach kids D&D
And I just wanted to say that this is amazing and truly captures the beauty and celebratory chaos of it all ❤
Having all the collective differences and inclusivity makes my heart feel full. Thanks Scott
Also that thumbnail is amazing! 😂
that piece is not only great looking art, but very inspiring story behind it. thank you for sharing this and all thoughts narrated in background!
I really enjoyed watching this compiled video. Such a beautiful piece! It has really inspired me. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I love this video so much, from the start it was actually making me so happy to watch.
This is such a wonderful project! Even though I was not at the live streams, I thoroughly enjoy this walkthrough of your progress. Love your art and your insights on making art! I’m inspired to keep growing my art too. Thanks, Scott!
you are such a wonderful role model and mentor figure in the art world. it’s a breath of fresh air. much love! (absolutely WONDERFUL painting btw)
Hi Mr Sava!
First I absolutely adore your videos, My art block flies off my head when I come across one of your shorts
( If you don't mind) Can you make a video talking about different types of inks for Lineart?
Absolutely love this piece, ambitious and turned out amazing.
I'd say if you ever do a piece like this with so many figures a method you could employ to keep track of where everybody and to avoid them overlapping weirdly would be making another layer, to help visualize the space they take up, could be as simple as drawing a circle at their feet of how much space they'd take up. That way you can avoid missing legs and it might help with size, it can get hard to keep track with so foreground midground and background characters all being different sizes.
This is amazing! Please shoot more long videos like this, it’s invaluable for a beginner to witness the entire decision process
I just wanna say that I absolutely love your videos. Your art is beautiful and your voice is so clothing to listen to, it’s so calming and (idk if this sounds weird 😅 but) I’d often find myself falling asleep watching your videos, so thank you.
i recently found this channel, and this is one of my favorite RUclips videos ever, genuinely
hi! while watching this im designing some fantasy characters and environments for my story:3 love ur art
This makes me so happy. ♥
The tortle give me some major Dark Crystal vibes and I love that ✨
Did you watch the Odd1sout vid? I never watched the original, but I love the series on Netflix
i love your line work, your use of line weight is so expert and it really makes the elements you want to focus on pop :)
This is absolutely beautiful and stunning and I love all these characters with there own characteristics
(Would've loved to see a a warforged and firbolg but I digress)
I think that it would be cool if the artificer made the mage's wheelchair. It just seems like something a guild member would do for do another! I also absolutely love this piece, every time you talked about a new character I would do a little happy dance because I've always been so passionate about fantasy and all that. It just put me in my happy place. I also appreciate all the commentary, it's really comforting somehow to know that artists you admire deal with the same problems as you do. Anyway, keep up the good work! :D
So gorgeous, compositing so many characters is a huge task, congrats
Im a therian and i love how you drew the shifted form! The details and the line weight of the fur is just spot on!! :)
Love the painting looks great
Obsessed with the level of representation in this!! Didn’t expect to see so much diversity and it’s so rare that therians get included in this kinda stuff :) very skilled artist great work
the thumbnail, the editing, the ART
YOURE AMAZING
the centaur is so cool??? like. i've literally never seen anyone represent how alot of people who are on the spectrum have issues with over or understimulation and seeing a character with like. auditory processing issues is so cool oh my god they're just like me fr
was so giddy to see the transmasc character too!! literally never see them and most of the time they tend to just be. white and more often than not passing, having a trans poc as a character is so cool aaaaaaa
Scott your so talented! I love your art so much! Also the tabaxi race is so cool!
i stopped drawing after my tics got worse and my hands got shakier, but then i started seeing your shorts and realized how much i missed art. i still can’t draw the same, my hands just shake so much that i struggle to enjoy the process, but i still missed it. then i saw you playing around with crayons and markers and decided on a whim to buy cheap coloring books and markers and started coloring. it’s hard to stay in the lines and they’re streaky and i have to put a sheet of paper under the page since it bleeds but im doing art and i love it so thank you
This was such a lovely and inspiring journey. And got the thought that maybe it's time I got my stories out of my head, if anything to one day be able to share them with my child... so, thank you very much, Scott ^^!
oh. Thank you so much! ♥
ive been watching this on and off when i need a little bit of inspiration or a break from the drawings ive been doing and its been an absolute pleasure ^_^ it came out so good!!!!
as a digital artist your videos always make me want to paint. more generally, they inspire me to get better at drawing and try things that i'm not good at :) i love your videos
oh my goodness i was so happy seeing therian representation!!
25:00
This person gives me such genderfluid vibes and I love it. Definitely my favourite person from the Guild ❤
your artificer reminds me of Tim and Marius from the mechanisms band! loved making little stories for your characters while I drew along with you, thanks for the positivity :)
