you considering the song to fit more with like a small fight rather than an actual battle kind of checks out considering this character is ridiculously strong in the lore and in gameplay you play as a version of him who is actively holding back and taking it easy

That's a funny sentence when without context. Gotta love the lore because of that
It's definitely a switcheroo to have a Vampire literally called 'Slayer', and his song is a very introspective, jazzy, positive ballard about the nature of life, but it really really suits him. That ferocity and hunger is still there in the main riff, but it never fully explodes, he holds back, and stays refined and in control, and just wants to enjoy the ride from now on.

Not actually accurate, he's super respectful of women which kinda makes the whole player thing inaccurate. (Although he can be flirty with women at times)

Yeah Slayer is such a powerful guy, he really doesn't need a longer theme
Since he's a vampire, he'll never die of old age, and since he's married to an immortal woman, he'll never die of hunger either (unless they break up I guess)- so, Slayer's kinda got an ever-lasting life ahead of him, and he's already fairly old (likely 1000+)
He's mentor and/or personal friend to several other characters of the series, preferring a sorta hands-off approach to world affairs and see if the humans can handle it on their own.
Infinite time also means infinite hardships of course, but it also means infinite joy, so Slayer chooses to focus on the good rather than the bad, and thus has a pretty chill attitude overall. Still the theme's lyrics also vaguely hint at some not so nice stuff from his life (verse 1: the extinction of seemingly all other vampires except him, leaving him only the company of humans, verse 2: those whom he couldn't help as well as he'd hoped)
