The “Hegemony” was already making me think of BattleTech factions, and then Capellans come into the Not-Squats' space too? While the Kronus faction's name reminds me of Greek mythology's Titans.
That opening quote sounds quite pre-emptively aggressive. Even infighting against others of their kind! Decidely not dawi-like. Throwing their technological might against the greenskins to victory is all well and good but this league harkens to a touch of the Chaos Dwarfs' outward animosity.
The Trans-Hyperian Alliance is a faction that literally sounds less hostile, by name. The “Trans”-versing section of their league's moniker strongly impressing the sense of explorers upon a listener, with the “Alliance” seeming to leand more open, less belligerent perceptions than the Kronus Not-Squats, Along with their dedication to ever increase the theological, philosophical and intellectual aspects of their multiple Votann.
Again: the Votann are Warhammer Zardoz's, that perspective encouraged by the official artworks and ongoing lore just persists in me. Thankfully, all of the former-Squat Leaguers are better dressed than Sean Connery was then. Much better. Their models in battle armour are beginning to make me think repeatedly of Starcraft's space marines, which is ironic.
The URSR could be like an entire league adapted from the cult of Slayers. Good luck against those Necrons...AND a Tyrannid hive fleet. But apparently those Kindred hold their own and if any xenos race is to invent, evolve and upgrade their technology to parry that of the Necrons and the appetites of the Tyrannids, they would be one of the strongest contenders.
The model seen after 12:15, presumably a member of the Ymir, is a pretty gnarly looking guy. The same goes for the final image fizated on a lone, red-clad figure; that Leaguer would have some drinking stories. Would the Ymir Conglomerate's edge in tech be boosted by trade with fellow Not-Squat allies, or from xenos races?
Thank you very much for your coverage hence providing more individuality and flair to the Leagues of these boisterous boys, GDN. They do need more stories to further fill them out, yes. Plus, more info on the other leagues. Now as for any leads on 40k Space Dawi Zharr... Anyway, my gratitude to you again and may you have an excellent weekend thus, Narrator! The Emperor protects.

The only thing that’s truly weird about the Leagues is they aren’t very grimdark. They’re meritocracy based space miners with advanced tech who usually avoid wars and when they do fight, fight intelligently. It sounds like being a citizen there is hard but honest work that they’re well suited to and rewarded reasonably well for.
There’s no especially tyrannical government, demon forged conspiracies, particularly vicious inter faction rivalries, crazy warp curses, war or economic crises, or even a particularly powerful faction that poses an implacable existential threat to them.

I’ve been feeling the itch to paint some warhammer miniatures again lately.
I have a box of unpainted Hearthkyn warriors but I’m stuck on whether to do a Kronus Hegemony or the Ymyr Conglomerate colour schemes.

I suppose when I say I do 100 squats a day it carries a different meaning in the grimdarkness of the 41st millennium

*grumbling for a novel continues* interesting to see them sneak a different kind of Tyranid into the spacedwarf lore though.
