    The distinctive angry harmonics of the Honda V12!

    Senna knew his goose was cooked heading into the 92 season. McLaren were still using the archaic 1991 MP4/6 to start the season whereas Williams was light-years ahead in chassis development.

      Williams already had Mclaren by a longshot come mid 91

      I also think, as did Senna that it was a mistake to make a V12 for 1991. Yes they won both championships, due more to reliability than anything else. It was done in response to Ferrari's competitiveness in 1990 but the extra weight & fuel consumption was no match for a ten cylinder.

      Always wondered how back in the early 90’s drivers like Senna adapted from going from H pattern to paddle shifters so quickly. Would of taken some time getting used to i’m sure.

      @@Spector06111 It's staightforward to go to paddle shifter (I remember Prost saying back then when moving from MacLaren to Ferrari that he very much appreciated keeping both of his hands on the wheel in a turn). On the contrary, it would be very difficult for Today's F1 drivers to switch back from paddle shifters to manual gear box with heel-toe downshifting... Charles Leclerc tried it recently on one of Lauda's car and he could not downshift correclty...

    He was using the RA121E right guys?

    • @benchadwickleeds
      @benchadwickleeds 8 месяцев назад

      Yes unless at the time of testing they had the RA122E and if so may have fitted that instead of the 121E. Can't remember when they received the 122E
