- Adding a backsplash for your RV kitchen is a quick way to bring the room to life. A backsplash will add color and decor to what are typically otherwise bland wall space in an RV.
While there are all sorts of tile options available, we decided to use peel and stick vinyl floor tile (check out "Floor Pops") that we cut to size and then glued to the wall using liquid nails.
Because we were replacing our kitchen counter, we decided to add the RV kitchen backsplash to the wall before we installed the counter. And while this was not necessarily an easy task, we were certainly happy that we did add the backsplash to our RV kitchen.
How to install a backsplash in your RV kitchen:
First, remove any wall decor or other items including window frames. Then begin to tape tiles against the wall where you plan to install them.
Use paper bags to create a template for any areas that may need to be custom cut - such as around windows, stove vents and other obstructions.
Then lay this template over a full vinyl tile and cut the tile to size before taping it to the wall.
Once you have the tiles taped to the wall, double check that they fit exactly how you would like them before permanently securing them to the wall. When you are satisfied with their placement you can then mount them to the wall.
You can use the peel and stick backing to secure the backsplash tiles to the wall.
But for a more secure attachment we recommend using liquid nails (thus why we made sure to double check that everything was in its right place before we permanently mounted it!).
Then put anything back on the wall you removed, or would like to add such as magnetic knife racks and other decor.

God Bless you Brother! Can’t wait for Jesus as well!
We wait, patiently, and pray things don't unravel too much further in the meantime! Thanks for your blessings, and for taking the time to watch and reach out!
Thank you for sharing. I'm trying to figure out what to do at our home and I appreciate all the hints and tips.
You're welcome! This is more intended for an RV where weight may be an issue. We'd otherwise install a beautiful tile backsplash so if you are looking for your home this may not be the best option.
What a brilliant idea much cheaper than tiles too. X
Exactly! Thanks so much!
We almost bought the excact tiles for our bathroom upgrade ,,we loved it but found a linoleum very close to it,,,also i hope you guys used extra adhesive !! but it looks awesome
We used a cheaper vinyl wall backsplash in our truck camper and it yellowed and fell apart within a year. This stuff is definitely heavy duty. And yes, we used liquid nails to reinforce the “stick” part of peel and stick so they should be good for a while!
@@CalledToWanderhow did they hold up?
The backsplash looks amazing! What did you use to glue the vinyl?
Thanks! Just an adhesive that works on vertical surfaces. The local hardware store should have a few different options.
How’s it held up to the heat from your stove?
It’s don’t fantastic! 2 years in and not one issue!
I Love The Backsplash It Looks Great 👍. Is it Black & White? Or Navy Blue & White? I was looking on Amazon and just debating on getting backsplash for our RV Bathroom. Or Wallpaper over the existing wallpaper?
You guys have done an Awesome job on your RV Renovation!!
Thanks! We're not falls of wallpaper in any situation. And we chose not to put backsplash in the bathroom just to keep it open and not cluttered. With the rustic look from the cedar shower and toilet and butcherblock countertop, we decided simple was better for us there. As for the color of the tiles, it's black and white. Here's the link for the exact ones we purchased... amzn.to/3CpOxl3
what did you use for glue?
We used a adhesive for vertical surfaces, similar to a liquid nails.
cut the tension with a knife..don't do this people
Ummm, not sure what video you watched but no tension here
