Eliminate RV Roof Maintenance With Eternabond Tape!

Continuing our effort to focus on our RV roof maintenance, we decided that we wanted to ensure that our roof would not leak around the vents by covering up areas with Eternabond tape.
If you've ever wondered how to use Eternabond tape properly, we'll show you all of the places we applied the tape to ensure that the roof remained watertight.
This was the second layer of protection that we used to keep our roof from leaking. First we used self-leveling Dicor Lap Sealant to seal every edge. Once that dried we applied 2" Eternabond tape along the long, side edges of our camper.
And then we used 4" Eternabond tape on the front seam, around appliances such as our RV roof vent cover, refrigerator vent cover, skylight and other places the roof needed a little TLC.
The Eternabond tape even worked great to patch up a few small holes in our awning.
And while we were at it we went ahead and fixed some areas on the side of our RV that could have caused water damage down the road. We removed all of the old door catches and latches and replaced them with new ones. This was simple, with a later of butyl tape beneath the new catch and a few new screws.
Then we also sealed the RV windows using RV Proflex sealant to prevent water from leaking through the window.
At the end of the day our RV remodel was pretty water-tight from the outside in! And we're confident that we are ready for one last roof maintenance project - to paint the roof with a waterproof coating.
