I’ve just bought the 2.0 litre limited edition, a little tip, instead of scrolling down to cancel the RSA scroll up, it virtually goes straight to it! Great review
Hi I really liked the video, I have just purchased the same 1.8 Excel in silver, I love the car my only gripe is the the CVT gearbox can be a little noisy and Revy up hills Andy.
Another great review Arnold, looks like a decent car. Shame all new cars are so pricey these days, speccing one up on a UK website was well over £40k. Incidentally, these types of roads are now very familiar to me 😁
I wouldn't buy a car that costs £40k or more on principle. It's an insult that they want you to pay an additional road tax supplement of £410 per year for 5 years. That's an extra £2,050 above the standard tax. When this extra tax was introduced it seemed to target expensive, powerful or large, fuel thirsty vehicles. However, now, due to huge inflation (post COVID and worldwide energy cost), and the trend for more complex vehicles (hybrid/additional safety features) that an ever increasing number of modern, efficient cars will get caught up in the tax rip off.
Can you do a review for Peugeot 3008 ? Then compare the two. CHR Vs Peugeot 3008. Ideally models 2024. What you like what you don't, what feels more family oriented, more spacious, pros and cons on both, maintenance, fuel consumption, longevity, durability, car services etc.Which of the two gets an edge on your preference and why.
Thanks for your question, I haven't tested the Peugeot and I probably won't. The cars featured in the Real Life Car Reviews are the cars that I test drive for my website, and that is dedicated to Japanese and Korean brands only. As it stands, that already means testing, filming and photographing one car per week. I just don't have the time to do more tests / testvideos. Maybe sometime in the future, if I can make a living out of my RUclips channel ;-)
The most important thing, he leaves out before nit picking is that Toyota has been the top on reliability for years and backs it up with a 10 year guarantee. Now lets start again!
Car rear windows get splashed and dirty, not just rained on. A rear washer/wiper is essential and its omission on this car is a big mistake. Also the partition between the driver and front passenger makes it somewhat claustrophobic for the passenger, and a bit awkward to reach the cup holders. It could also be a barrier if it was necessary to exit through the passenger door in the event of an accident damaging the driver's door. It's totally unnecessary.
Thanks for your comment! In comparison with the MX-30, the C-HR is noticeably sportier and more dynamic in the steering. The Mazda is more laidback, but not to a point where it is too comfortable. It is more of a side effect of its weight, Mazda used that to enhance the ride comfort, but with plenty of driver engagement.
In a nutshell: it's quiet and comfortable, great fuel economy. Straight line stability is outstanding, the only thing you might consider is a smaller wheel size for extra comfort, especially when you do a lot of highway driving.

Thanks for that tip to switch off the RSA, and good luck with your new C-HR Colin. Tanks for watching!

Does it worth the extra money to buy the All wheel drive ?
Only if you live in an area where you have real winters, or when you often drive on unpaved roads. It really depends on your situation.

Well, it is something that I do mention in every other Lexus / Toyota test.
The transmission is e-Cvt ?
Yes, it uses the Toyota power split device. No belts, no chains, a very smart and utterly reliable system.

From a practical point of view, the smaller Yaris Cross is the better car in my opinion.
What is the driving experience like compared to Mazda MX30 R-EV ? I always enjoy watching your reviews , thank you.

@@Carnold_YT Thanks
You forgot to tell how it drives, especially on autobahn.
