Lists a bunch of things that genuinely hurt the game and one's enjoyment....gives it a 9 out of 10. Back in the day a 9 was an almost perfect game and the highest achievement a game could get.
The game has a user metacrittic score of 5.9 something tells me the check from Sony cleared
Dear IGN, kindly reconsider your review for GT7 as it was done before introducing MTX and recent updates.
Far too many adverts. Sharky, very sharky
Daym son, those physics at 4:56 lol
Honestly it’s not bad but damn it’s funny.
Bro wtf 😂
@@milkman-30 it's not bad? did you have any standards to begin with?
Wait. The SINGLE player career mode is online only? What's gonna happen when they inevitably shut down the servers?
It's 2022, GT Sport is like this too and the servers are still active.
A new entry will probably be out before they pull the plug on this one.
@@gunslingerplays doesn't excuse a single player mode being online only.
@@kbthegoat824 It is annoying and I'd rather it not to be the case but it is not new to the series.
@@kbthegoat824 Its because everything you do in the single player carries over to multiplayer as stats. And to avoid cheaters they do that.
@@MrLemmanz excuses for shitty practices
Never buy a GT day1 beacuse in a year or 2 your find a "complete" version with all updates and dlc for cheaper then buying the "Demo"
Cancelled my preorder.
Imagine being on a long race, let’s say hours, and then your connection drops.
Or worse like in dirt rally 2 even if you lose connection then your entire championship is reset, as in hours.
Save your money
Its absolutely disgusting that this game requires an internet connection even for single player. Theres no reason for it, the developers can go to hell I'm not gonna buy something thats 100% guaranteed to stop working the second they shut the servers down (which Sony will absolutely do)
Come on man... Forcing people to go online... Really Sony?. Like this Sony is just giving people more reasons to go to gamepass.. Its so ridiculous..
Do you not have internet lol
@@themediagrail yeah but internet isn’t always reliable. It crashes and it slows down a lot, especially when living in wooded areas. It’s a shame Sony resorted to forcing players to go online. Internet should always just be an option instead of being mandatory.
It is 2022, if you own a phone and still complaining about internet always on then you got problems.
Gamepass is online lol
You need to be online to use game pass, so what a moronic statement
Photo mode is great but the track textures and details look underwhelming, i'm rather disappointed
?
5:00 really?😕
Just completed the single player campaign and it’s painfully short…
How long did you play the game
@@unfairsanic5089 since launch and completed all menus a couple days ago.
"There are so many flaws with this game, and it's below average in multiple areas"
Final score: 7.0 + major exclusive bonus points = 9.0
You really thought these gaming magazines/web sites were independent? It was the same thing 30 years ago - advertising. IIRC they gave the new Forza game a 10/10 even though it's virtually a re-skin of the last one - and buggy too.
It seems obligatory to give every big-name or hyped exclusive an 8.5 or higher (often a 9.0 or higher) no matter how flawed it is.
Was expecting a 7-8 score based on the commentary. Hmm well I'll be watching a couple more reviews before making a decision
why do you use reviews to decided if you are going to purchase something? Learn to think for yourself.
Almost all reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Acg, gamingbolt metacritic etc. If you don't trust critics check user reviews when it releases
@@CreativGaming think for yourself on a GAME that requires playing? lol. This might be the dumbest comment I’ve ever read. No lie
Buying in game credits? 🤔 last gen visuals, limited car selection, we deserve better.
The visuals are definately not last Gen. Get a better telly
It's like the car is stuck to the center of the screen and the map is the backdrop that moves.
Graphics looks kinda off. Strange.
No car damage again?!?! Why???
Sounded like way more negative points in the review but still a 9. The positive parts must outweigh the negative parts.
You know, its a Playstation game... IGN loves playstation.
@@caiocarrara rightfully so
@@caiocarrara GamingBolt gave it a 10/10, you’re just an Xbox fanboy.
@@caiocarrara and ain’t nothing y’all can do about it
@@caiocarrara with quality of playstation you know it's true. Unlike Xbox they don't have to buy franchises. Playstation can create one.
I’m really glad to hear Luke’s opinion on music rally cause that mode sounded LAME when it was announced.
I'm still not impressed with the car sounds I've heard so far. Still sounds weak.
Microtransactions killed it for me
Are the micro transactions still an issue?
Really dissapointed that they bothered with dirt tracks again they never seem to know how to get it to feel right they should just stick to road tracks never had been a fan of there offroad racing
its like driving on soap
Couldn't agree more. It never feels anywhere near as authentic as the road racing and I've been wishing they'd ditch it for years. To me it's just a waste of effort on the part of Polyphony and I'd much rather have a few other classic circuits instead.
weird how the physics don't transfer correctly between the two styles. It's vice versa for dirt rally 2.0 where offroading feels incredible but the pavement races aren't quite right
Offroad isnt that great in horizon 5 either, it looks great and is fun, but super unrealistic. Like you can zip around the woods and through rivers going over 200 mph. But theres always snow runner if you want to experience what driving through deep mud is all about
Then just play your dirt 5, kid. Nobody cares what you think.
Wasn't mentioned in this review but the weather features only extend to 10 tracks.
This review is super weird. Your points and tone sounds like this game is really disappointing, but you gave it a 9? You said more negatives than positives for this review. I’m a huge fan of GT, please don’t fail me. My hopes have gone down considerably as launch day inches closer
A single-player campaign requiring an internet connection at all times is unforgiveable.
You can play GT1, a 25 year old game from start to finish without issue but you wont be able to play GT7 in 10 years when they shut down the servers. Its terrible for game preservation and its a shitty practice.
A 1080p upload for a PS5 game review?...why?
How can you give it a 9 after spending this whole video complaining about all its faults which are big issues with a game that let's be honest is game whereby you grind and do the same thing over and over and over. To give it a 9 doesn't seem right
