Thanks for making that critical distinction, I started pole a few months ago, having a strong hoop background. Since I was accustomed to a secure hand grip, I struggled with static spins not knowing to release slowly to make the rotations--my wrists ached constantly. Yay! Welcome to the world of pole dance 👯♀️!!! You are not alone my friend! Are you talking about the first move? I could not grip with my legs for the life of me too when I first started. Have you tried using grip? That's the spirit! I have no doubt you'll get it.

Thank you! It's all very subjective but glad you agree! All the best with trying the move, let me know how it goes! hahha, I wish I could help you more with static but where I live, it's a rare species 😂 oh yes and another thing, spinning pole can definitely help holding some poses because the spin action takes a bit of the weight off your body so you may like it more! Hi Vanessa, I wish I knew the names of the moves! A lot of them I have just seen and don't know the names of. The only ones I know are: 5 straight carousel with forearm hold 7 straight leg chair sit 8 pinwheel 9 stag 10 ballerina variation :)
Thanks for the vid! What dance pole are you using? I have the ProFit and it has just been giving me nothing but trouble. Need a more professional pole like this one!
Hi Alondra, I use Xpole! It's an amazing brand. So reliable and safe when installed properly! I have the link to the exact pole I have in the description box :) Are you from Australia? I found the most similar one available in the US too from Xpole.
Hi Tais! Welcome 👋🏼 so glad to have you here ❤️ Sure! I am sceptical to recommend ‘cheaper’ poles. The reason being is that a pole needs to be safe and good quality because we bear so much of our weight on it and when we hang upside down it can be so dangerous if it falls. There’s been stories of cheaper poles falling or the finish on the pole cutting the skin. Just nasty stuff like that! If you get top quality poles, this is greatly reduced (as long as it’s installed properly in a suitable space - the floor and ceiling need yo be appropriate type). I can only recommend the poles that I have used. I have had no issues with XPole. They are the top pole brand in this space. I have the links in the description for the exact one I have or the equivalent options if you are in US or UK. When it comes to choosing a pole, we have to weight up whether it’s worth going for cheaper brands which may compromise safety. I’m sorry I can’t confirm if any of these brands are safe. However, in saying all this, there are ways to reduce the price! Firstly, you could always access a community through Facebook, through people of your pole studio or even better from a trusted person you know to buy a second hand pole (and if you are worried maybe get it checked). You could also choose different finishes on the pole. I have brass because I find it easier to grip and it’s consistent with the ones in my studio. But I do know if you get chrome, stainless steel, powder coated etc. it will all reduce the cost. So it’s up to you if you don’t mind choosing a different finish on the pole even if it differs from your studio pole which might make it harder to switch between poles (as some finishes are gripper than others and will allow you to do moves more easily). Play around with the different finishes when you are on a pole shop website to see how it affects the price and if possible try them in person to double check whether you like it :) Sorry for the long reply! You are always welcome to ask more and I’ll do my best to help guide your decision! I have found having a pole to be such a great investment even though costly to buy initially! Especially during COVID lock downs. But because it’s my biggest passion right now and I plan to do it in the long run and because it allows me to make videos which I enjoy so much, it’s been of great value! I do understand it can be tough on the wallet. I was able to go half price on a new one with my sister who I live with who also does pole ($700 or so costed me $350)! So maybe that could be an option too (to split the cost with a friend or someone you live with who wants to pole at home!).
@@PoletatoJemPoleDancer This is great; thank you so much for your time! I am actually in Australia and most "pole brands" are from US, and that is why I would like to get suggestions from here :)
@Tais Sombini Oh hello fellow Aussie! 🐨 I'm sure you've probably come across XPole then! I just know most studio's have XPole because it's a highly safe brand when installed properly and maintained correctly. When I was doing research, I saw that some cheaper brands you might come across on smaller sites can have the danger of being poorly made/ lower quality materials - this can lead to the pole not holding up for very long requiring you to buy a new one anyways or worst case, falling while you are using it! I also saw a video that shows when you buy a supposed ‘XPole’ from non-reputable sites, other than directly from XPole (or from reputable online stores selling XPoles, for example, in Australia, www.dance4me.com.au/sitemap.php is the legit merchant selling XPole's), it could potentially be a fake, so gotta be careful with where you buy it from. This post sums up the safety concerns of fake poles nicely and what to look out for www.dance4me.com.au/safe-poles/ I know its super tempting to buy poles that are significantly cheaper than XPoles’s but after doing research and knowing the risks of injury and even death from fake or poorly made poles, I just had to go with the most top quality brand out there which is XPole. It’s the safest pole I know out there, which is why it’s so expensive! It may sound dramatic of me to say, but if serious permanent injury has occurred from poor quality poles, I would highly recommend going with the most safest option (even if more expensive) because your life if more valuable than anything! The best way I know people can get good quality poles at a discount is through buying XPole’s second hand from trusted people they know (usually from their pole studio). You could also try local pole buy, swap and sell FB groups!
Thank you so much for all those Beginner-Moves. I just have a short question: I am going to buy a home-pole for my own. What size has your pole ( and your hands- small, middle,.. ) and from which brand is it? I have small hands and can't decide if I should by 45 or 42mm :/ any recommendations?
You're welcome 😘! This is so exciting! I have a brass 40mm from XPole. I highly recommend because it's safe! I have the X-PERT NX which is both spinning and static bit.ly/33Ly91c I find the size is perfect for my hand size. If I measure from the first crease of my wrist to the very top of my middle finger, my hand is 17cm. Where are you living? I know there are other brands which are also very good depending on where you live. Below are some options from UK or US which are similar to mine. Only the US link is an affiliate FYI: 🇺🇸 US links XPERT Pro PX (spinning and static) xpoleus.com/shop-all/poles/xp... 🇬🇧 UK links XPERT NXN (spinning and static) bit.ly/3qghVEK XPERT Pro PX (spinning and static) bit.ly/3GWWPC4 Feel free to ask any questions you have as I know buying a pole is a big decision!

So beautiful.. I’m just starting back after a few years off. Covid started and our studio closed.. I watch you and you make it look so easy. I hope I can make it look easy at some point 🤦🏻♀️🫶🏼
I haven't been on a pole in almost 20 years. I just ordered an x- pole today and am so excited to get back at it.
These moves are so pretty and simple thank you!
This video is beautiful, the editing is great, and these moves are sweet! I'm very jealous of your 40mm pole because my 45mm feels impossible to grip some days :P
NAW tank u tank u, you are sweet 🥰
You will have the best grip from training on a thick pole 😉
thats exactly what i was thinking right now while trying
Same, my legs don’t grip, I can climb and hold my body up easily with my arms but haven’t sorted out the legs yet
@@Kenzingo Once your legs get better at gripping or if you use grip, it will save your arms from tiring out a lot! I know I use this hack so I can do combos without my arms falling off!
I'm curious, do you do other training to have such strong arms? 💪
You are the best I have ever seen!
Your moves are so beautiful, I love it 💖💜💙💛🖤🩶🤍🩷
I really like this video. Great teaching.

I just started pole dancing last month and I can’t hold on for long now. But these moves look so pretty~ I want to try them :D
I've learned our definition of beginner is different.
You are a great teacher! This video is just what I needed 🥰
I mean dude I am putting all my hope and faith into this video cuz I just started pole dancing 3days ago and only know two moves but I also don't have the best confidence in my body, well actually I have good confidence in my body I don't mind showing it off either it's just I'm struggling with holding or even pulling myself up
Hi Eliza, some of these moves are trickier than others! You can start with some other beginner grips like front hook if you like! I have some other videos too which are more simple pole moves to start with :) ruclips.net/video/bJjtX7ATy3Y/видео.html
The pacing and explanations in this video were great! Ty!

Just started pole and am struggling so hard with that back leg hook! You make it look so graceful lol I know.if I keep practicing ill get it eventually
Yay! Welcome to the world of pole dance 👯♀️!!!
You are not alone my friend! Are you talking about the first move? I could not grip with my legs for the life of me too when I first started.
Have you tried using grip? It took me a while to figure out that either putting grip (like shaving gel) on the back of my legs or getting my legs slightly sweaty during warm up helped me stick so much better to do any leg based moves.
That's the spirit! I have no doubt you'll get it.
Ugh I struggle with some leg hooks too! I honestly think my problem is my skin isn't conditioned to it enough yet because it huuuuuurts 😭 just been chipping away at it regularly. Thanks for the shaving cream tip Jem definitely gonna give it a go
@@prettyandsick 100% 🙌🏼 it’s a real struggle. My skin is still soooo not grippy as when I started but because my nerves are less sensitive and I think my back leg gripping muscles have gotten stronger, it is much easier now. Hang in there 😉
Shaving gel will help ease you into it by helping the non grippy skin issue 😃
at my school outside we have a old ball pole with no pole, so me and my friends pole dance on it. thank u this helped me! before this The only move I knew was to spin around like a firework haah!

Hello! Welcome 👋
Pretty poses. I'm gonna give them a try especially the chair tip, cause I can't get that move to save my life. Or maybe I should just stop working on static.
Thank you! It's all very subjective but glad you agree! All the best with trying the move, let me know how it goes! hahha, I wish I could help you more with static but where I live, it's a rare species 😂
oh yes and another thing, spinning pole can definitely help holding some poses because the spin action takes a bit of the weight off your body so you may like it more! (just sciency stuff 🤓).

Hi Vanessa, I wish I knew the names of the moves! A lot of them I have just seen and don't know the names of.
The only ones I know are:
5 straight carousel with forearm hold
7 straight leg chair sit
8 pinwheel

10 ballerina variation

Hi Alondra,
I use Xpole! It's an amazing brand. So reliable and safe when installed properly!
I have the link to the exact pole I have in the description box :)
Are you from Australia? I found the most similar one available in the US too from Xpole.
Hello Jen ! New study here , do you also do stretching videos for flexibility ? Or does that naturally happen as your experience progresses?
Hi😅
Are skinnier poles better than thick ones
Besos 💋💋💋💋 pasó me recuerda vida pasada lo que ame en sierto tiempo arte i love
Hi Jem, I am just new on your channel! Could you please recommend an affordable spinning pole to home?
Play around with the different finishes when you are on a pole shop website to see how it affects the price and if possible try them in person to double check whether you like it :)
Sorry for the long reply!
I'm sure you've probably come across XPole then! This post sums up the safety concerns of fake poles nicely and what to look out for www.dance4me.com.au/safe-poles/
I know its super tempting to buy poles that are significantly cheaper than XPoles’s but after doing research and knowing the risks of injury and even death from fake or poorly made poles, I just had to go with the most top quality brand out there which is XPole.
