Ghostface Killah has cleared up rumors stirred up by the Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga that he and Raekwon had beef before joining the Wu-Tang Clan.
On the latest episode of Gorilla Nems’ Outside With Gorilla Nems series, Ghostface set the record straight and revealed he never had any issues with his Wu-Tang brother before their rap fame.

Exactly! Just like Bobby having more than 3 siblings and Shurrie was made up of 3 sisters that Ghost actually did make a baby with. Love how the show shares that symbolic truth. Fans just need to do their homework more.
I don't think ghost and Rae had personal beef, more like a crew beef. There is interviews with ghost (or other members) saying houses were shot up and someone's face got cut at one point, but this was before wu

Read Raekwon’s autobiography. It’s amazing and explains everything, including him & Ghost’s brotherhood. Especially how they created Only Built For Cuban Linx.

Rae’s book lays it all out. Rae and Ghost always been the most honest and outspoken from the Wu from what I’ve seen. If the series was accurate, I don’t think either of them would deny it. It’s all in the past anyways. All of these shows exercise a little artistic license. Bottom line is drama in entertainment sells, and tv shows are no different than any other product being pushed on consumers.

@Mousse Garbonzo The book also says Ghost shot up Rae's peoples house and Rae's people returned fire on Ghost's house. So ut may not have been Rae and Ghost directly, but it's not hard to see where the story comes from.

Just saying this clip they show with the two of them staring each other down with guns from the TV show doesn’t match up with any story I’ve heard, whether in Rae’s book or elsewhere. Fabricated drama for a television show. I was excited when I heard about this show, but after seeing a few clips when it first came out, I could tell I wasn’t going to like it. It looked too sensationalized, and Ghost just confirmed it here.
Just like Rza's sister in the show is an amalgamation of his FOUR sisters, the Rae and Ghost "beef" in the show is a depiction of the tension between neighbourhoods and how bad shit could get

they just put the feelings of the areas these two represented on the backs of the characters in the show for development of how shit was in their hoods vs how it would end up being unifying good story writing but a bit confusing to viewers that dont closely know these guys story's

There seems to be many inconsistencies in that show. I understand you need entertainment but this is people's lives. Even Inspectah Deck said some of the stuff his character did isn't accurate.
Ghost and Raekwon had some issues way before Wu Tang but it wasn't to the point that it couldn't get smoothed out in order to form Wu Tang and get money. RZA got all them dudes together and showed them the way!
They hoods had issues. Word was Park Hill (Rae, U, Cappadonna, Deck, Meth) was all fly hustlers while Stapleton (Ghost the only one from there) was more so stick up kids or bullies. They kinda show that in the show, the first episode, Park Hill started off with niggas selling in the background while in Stapleton, someone was getting robbed for they coat. GZA, Dirty, and Masta Killa are just from Brooklyn so they just a whole different story in itself while RZA just from both of those boroughs and he the one to really bring it together because he had the equipment and vision.
Good summary. Rza had the equipment, vision, and the big family according to Raekwon's book.

its inspired by events that did happen but some ppl are switched around and some ppl don't want to talk about certain things that may have happened its a combination of things...........I think the main point was to showcase that ppl could move past serious beef in a positive way.
Poppa WU spoke in the past saying that things did happen between Ghost stand Rae and I believe Poppa WU, it seems like to me ghost face doesn’t wanna talk about it, or doesn’t want to incriminate himself.

I think Rae and Ghost personally didn't have beef, they may have not even really knew of each other. It was more the lines that their neighborhoods had beef. I don't care if the show makes up stuff to make for a better show as long as overall they're sticking true to the history and timeline.
It's obvious they ment there was no personal beef. Like if you are not from the streets you don't know what they mean. People from my block might not be down with people from a few blocks away especially in my area but I might know a dude and not beef with him but don't mean I can befriend him due to us living in different blocks. I had a couple of friends that joined up with people I wouldn't roll with and they were cool with me we had no personal issue but if it pops off you might have joined the wrong side of the table.
Actually Rae said in an interview with djvlad that Ghostface did shoot up one of his friend's house and he retaliated, and RZA knew both too so he basically stopped the beef between them and they actually became close after that, so the story did happen but not between Rae and Ghost, it was Ghost and someone else from the hood that Rae and RZA knew too

Ghost and Power had beef in real life not Rae . Power wass Rae's homie from back then Power had his own shit going on aside from Rae . Not sure why Ghost didn't correct it but whatever . The storylines is not completely made up, just the names were changed up .

I followed the Wu since 93 I never heard any kind of this stuff back in a day so I never understood, why all of a sudden, they talking about a beef between those 2 guys.
