    I find this kind of talk exhausting. I give you so much credit for listening to one story after another. This man is a con and is working so hard conning himself about how talented he is, how different his is from other addicts, how easily he could skip away from his habit. Sounds like talking to an alcoholic who wants to talk about each and every drunk and how much they can drink and still be the smartest person in the room.

    I've been binge watching these videos non-stop. They are fascinating recollections of the human condition. • @Ralleighen
      @Ralleighen 2 года назад +10

      I think we are so fascinated because we could be like them. Taking hard drugs seems like opening a box that should never be opened. Once you become aware of the immediate reward value presented by drugs, it's probably natural to be extremely tempted by them over investing in the slow, long term rewards of working on yourself. That's what I think anyway.

    • @dellaB22
      @dellaB22 2 года назад +5

      I think, But for the Grace of God, go I. I used drugs in the late 60s and 70s and lived it up on sex and rock n roll. Then in a twist of events that left me far from home and desperate, I fell on my knees and prayed, suddenly I left Miami and found myself in church asking God for forgiveness for screwing up my life so bad. He met me there and I've been changed since turning to Him instead of drugs. I see myself and where I would be today had Jesus not rescued me. Theres hope but its not in the next high, we all need a change of heart, will and desires. TYJ

    Audience, at 1:45 he's telling the TRUTH. I've seen in person a homeless man with a well built portable home underneath a drain area under a sewer area. Now it didn't flood out, but you could fish from his front door ONLY if it heavily rained. I'll NEVER forget, there was an environmental court complaint, and I was able to view police check on the complaint. This guy had a portable stove burner, clean dishes, small ice box with cold foods/beverages. This guy had a twin foldable bed, fresh jugs of water, with battery lamps. He was super smart and grid free. I hated he was arrested for just taking care of himself with a good living away from public view. He had clean folded clothes, and his place was clean, with a febreze smell. In court the judge didn't fine him, but advised him just not to rebuild.

Now we are the happiest and closest we have ever been. We are starting a new plumbing business and off to a great start. He was using heroin and speed together. Then he decided to get clean with the help of suboxone. Now he's almost off of that but that definitely served its purpose. Listening to this man reminds me of my husband as far as being resourceful when he was out on the streets running around. I wouldn't let him stay here at our home because I'm an x addict and couldn't have that at the house even though I loved him so much. I went to places trying to find him to save him while jeopardizing my sobriety. It was just pure hell for about 3 years then finally he gave it up completely.

      You did right. People have to see the devastation of addiction to know we need help. I hope you are both doing well, today! I got out of addiction with my man. It’s not impossible, but it takes two to make it happen (and a whole lot of community support, professional help…whatever it takes). Suboxone saved me life. I have a painful physical condition that requires treatment. When people self-treat on the streets, polyaddiction is almost inevitable. Physical dependency on opiates is what kept me in the streets. With that under control, I use exercise and nutrition to keep me “up”. You’re a strong person. Thanks for your inspiring story! ❤️‍🩹

    I definitely feel for him as far as the way the city handled tearing down his building. Even though Mark is probably right that fighting that fight is pointless, there is something visceral that comes out in some people when the government fucks with your property.

    It’s weird to see him delude himself by bragging he is a good dude, hard worker and that he got all these nice qualities from his mom when his story is quite the contrary. He makes a lot of excuses for his problematic life situation so he can continue to smoke crack and not look in the mirror and recognize how badly he messed up life for himself and those around him. He is somewhat of a narcissist who wants all people to think highly of him and paradoxically wants love from people who are the least likely to give it to him while spurning the love of those who really would so easily care( like his kids and wife). thereafter he complains about how he gets robbed and treated like crap. Well yeah the karma comes around and instead of loving the family who needs him and really would provide sustainable and unlimited love, he tries to nurture and fix people far down the hole....Maybe to atone for the sins of his own dysfunctional parents. Sins which aren’t really his but toxic love is all that he knows and healthy love he spurns because it is alien to him. Then when his family grows to hate him; rather than just man-ing up and making amends he uses it as justification that he should go deeper down the hole and leave them behind. Rather than face reality.

    I don’t understand the negativity towards this man. I don’t think for a second he thinks he’s better than anyone. He says when he does something he does it well even drugs. It’s his gift and also his curse. He’s probably right. He’s talented he’s creative motivated when he chooses to be but he said he’s “stuck” he’s a slave to his drug. I don’t think he sugar coats it. I think he’s been as candid as he wants and when he is, expresses his difficulties. Maybe he’s embarrassed and disappointed in himself so he talks in a way that minimizes what he feels. It’s his choice to portray his life the way he chooses. It gets old feeling like a piece of shit everyday. He couldn’t even speak about his son beyond saying the words “my son” without getting emotional. No two people are the same and that doesn’t change because you’re addicted to a substance. Everyone’s an individual and needs to be treated as such. He may speak in third person but I truly believe he knows he’s speaking for himself and his experiences as well.
