The last two Lions kickers to date after the longtime vet Jason Hanson. Unbelievable how shakey Akers became after this game, through 2013, to the point where the Niners no longer wanted him.
@@ericsigersmith6067 - Also a healthy Justin and Aldon Smith made fools of the entire NFL. In part because Justin Smith pushed the limits of defensive holding, and by that I mean the officials didn't flag him for doing what was an obvious penalty.

I actually liked the 2011 niners and I wished they went to the super bowl against new England cuz the pats defense was garbage that year and to see Brady against that niners defense we would've all love to see them make the turnovers all day long
It's ironic, Aaron Rogers is by far a better QB than Brett Farve but when we met Farve in the reg or the post he had our number almost everytime whereas with Rogers we've pretty much owned him during his time as a packer.
Yes you are true but the 49ers have the last laugh on Brett Favre because of the cats to buy Terrel Owens.. and remember the 49ers were in a transactions during those times playing Green Bay and we were getting old

49ers replaced Waker with Vance McDonald, who has become an elite TE for the Steelers. 49ers have a history of great TEs. They also had Wesley Walls in the late 80's and early 90's as a back up to Brent Jones. Walls became the best TE in Saints history until Jimmy Graham and was also inducted into the Panthers Hall of Fame.
If the 49ers management and Jim Harbaugh weren't beefing beind the scenes, the 49ers would've likely been a force to be wreckoned with. That defense was scary good, but they always had a hard time against Seattle. After Harbaugh left to Michigan, 49ers became a joke for years
The GM was horrible with the 2012 draft class. One of the reasons they made it to the super bowl was because nearly everyone was still on the roster. Had they had a better GM who would've bolstered the roster they would've had a better chance at being the best team in the division, conference and super bowl champs. In my opinion that's enough said.
Hay does anyonemiss the 2012 Packers where they had Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback and their weapons such as Greg Jennings, james Jones, Jordan Nelson
I remember this game.... this is when David Akers who had a phenomenal season the year tied the record for longest field goal in history but I remember after this he had that injury and he was never the same again he missed a lot of field goals so much that the Niners even tried out another kicker.... but I remember this season because of Randy Moss even though he only had three touchdown passes... Randy Moss made a huge difference in the offense by just being there so much that Michael Crabtree had his best season ever.. I think he was the best receiver that season and didn't even make the Pro Bowl..
1. David Akers tied the longest FG ever at that time. 2. He did it in Green Bay, as opposed to the record that was set in Denver where the air is thinner and easier to kick. 3. David was hurt after that and was never the same. He was a six time pro bowl kicker, I closing his first year with SF in 2011. He began a string of misses and would get cut, sign with the Lions and only finish the 2013 season. That kick essentially ended his career.
Probably one of my favorite all time regular season games. I swear the hype was surrounding how the Packers would “outscore” us in a shootout but the media and a lot of people discounted the force that was Harbaugh’s/Fangio’s defense. Those boys were nasty.

Some people might know that Randy Moss played with the 49ers in his last season in the league, but who know Mario Manningham played for them as well after winning the super bowl and Cedric Benson played for the Packers.
I'm a Ravens fan and still have no idea why when Alex Smith got healthy again, they still kept Kaepernick as starting QB.
