I work at the toyota plant where we build the corolla, this model has not even been released to employees and we build them! First off it’s a 2020 model not 19. Secondly we haven’t even began our first trial until September of this year, full production of then is set for March of next year. So there’s you some truth in this model so far. I’ve seen it a few times, we have three models our pilot team has hand built offline. There’s some pretty big things that differ from this video, but I’ll let y’all see that when the true reveal comes out!
What are you talking about? The vid referenced here is about the 2019 Corolla Sport, the Japanese version. The Toyota dealers already sell these here in Japan. There are differences between this and the USA model. The Japanese versions usually get the cooler tech.
Exterior style is much nicer than previous versions, going the same refined way mazda is taking, but the infotainment screen is way too big and interior materials could improve a bit.
the chassis of this car is one of the best in the segment they just need to make a gr-grmn version of this car with 2.0turbo+hybrid synergy engine and probably AWD system they need to step up theyre game if they want to compite with Honda and VW and Ford
AWD is not necessary, but can be loads of fun for enthusiasts. Pretty fun when you're sideways around a corner and all wheels spinning... Not on a public road ofcourse :)
I'll be test driving it this weekend. I do like the headlights on the USA version and CarPlay support. Japanese model gets you a live operator you can talk to for emergencies, recommendations, and stuff...that is not very exciting. Makes me want to import the USA version to Japan but those versions usually get nerfed with some of the cool tech of the Japanese version. Nice choice of colors but I really want a GR Sport version. The other available body kits are too minor to notice and cost a fortune.

AWD is not necessary for a 2.0 turbo 180hp. to heavy and useless. 4wd is for cars with traction problems because torque and to much horse power.
